That writing desk turned out amazing! And the wooden scoop was a great find at that price. I love the stool, the paint color choice was perfect for that paper.
Oh my goodness! I absolutely love that first little desk! I love the combination of that black with those beautiful colorful flowers. Absolutely lovely. Everything you came up with is gorgeous😊
All three of these projects turned out great, Shelly! The little lap desk was such a huge transformation! Can't wait to see what you come up with this weekend! TFS!
Love the chickens ! All three projects came out beautiful I like the vintage colour of the little stool which used to be called eau de nil hence Nile Green 😊❤
I have one of the desks. I have had it for years. Haven’t decided what to do with it. You have given me ideas. Now, for the scoop. Another project that looks like it came from KP Creek! I love it! The stool turned out great as well! The green paint colors are very pretty.
When banging a small nail or screw and it wobbles, try a hole punch first to make an indentation. They’re cheap at Harbor Freight. Or hold nail with tweezers or pliers till it stabilizes into the wood. I love picking up little tidbits of info and passing it on. I love your taste.
Loved all of them. You make it look so easy. I did the sunflower like you did by tweaking the stencil slightly. It's turning out nice. Of course I didn't have the piece of slate like yours, I did it on a wood round. But I couldn't wait to do the technique as you showed (taught) in your video. Thank you so much for all you do. ❤
My favorite project, although I like them all, is the scoop especially after you showed all the ways it could be displayed. But, I also must tell you your channel has gotten me in trouble...slightly 😊. So I've been in my house almost 15 yrs. I love country and prim decor. I was very eager to decorate when we first moved in and bought lots of items at "antique" (aka junk) shops to display. As years have gone by I've kind of gotten tired of some things and feel like I want some kind of change. But, I have 5-6 huge plastic bins of such items and I don't really have room to store a lot more to rotate in and out. Then the idea hit me. I can paint, add some ribbon or a transfer, or some florals to many of these items I already have! I've gone to Dollar Tree and purchased some floral stems and ribbon and paint and such. I ordered some transfers from Amazon, too. My first project was an old red milk can that I bought years ago that I've had just sitting on a shelf for 14 yrs. I added some black and white cow transfers, some black checkered ribbon and a bow and put some fake Gerber daisies in it and it looks great...even if I do say so myself. I've got lots of baskets and other things I'm planning to revamp as well. I really love your channel. You make these upcycles doable for the average, not-so-crafty person. And it really is fun to work on these things. I have found other channels that are similar to yours, and they have some good content as well, but yours is my favorite. Keep the inspiration coming!
You are so awesome, Doris! I am glad you are getting inspiration from my projects. It is fun and comes with satisfaction that you upcycled your older decor. It makes me happy you are enjoying my channel. Thank you for the kind words. 💕
I have a couple of wall light fixtures with a gold tone that I'd like to darken. What do you think would be best to do this? Also, they have stark white faux candle bases with faux wax drips. I'd like to darken that as well. They came with the house. I thought about the antique wax, but wanted your opinion.😊
Yes that should darken it up with antique wax. You could also use rub n buff in the antique gold. It will tone down the gold quite a bit and might stick better. I would try a small spot with the wax first and see how well it sticks. I hope that helps.
@RepurposedMyWay Wonderful! Thank you so much! I'm kind of thinking about using your grubby mix on the white "candle" area. How can I show you a picture of it?
