02:40 talk permit tone
What about it?
I love the the talk permit tone
I got that beep too :)
Keep up the videos I love these!
Nice video, well explained
Great video and explanation. Does the radio transmit inhibit only work on enhanced privacy? I have an XPR3300 and a CP200d set up on a DMR channel with basic privacy enabled, but if one radio is off and I key the other one, it still initiates the private call. I also have "private call confirmed" checked in the CPS.
The privacy should make no difference. I think private call confirmed should be on in the transmitting radio if you want the radio to beep and stop transmitting if the radio you're calling is off/out of range. Or maybe there is a setting for it somewhere in the general settings.
If I put ctccs on my Midland-Xtalker radio will it give me a tall permit tone?
Very good video
I have a motorola xt420 and i only have one radio but idk how to set the ptt tone
Is there any way I can contact you just got one of this Iam haveing issues with it will really appreciate your help thanks
No I don't offer support for Motorola products. Contact your radio dealer for support and programming
Is this also possible with Retevis dmr radios?
maybe that this feature is only available on a dp3400 radio as seen on your video? I have a xpr6550 and cant get it to mimic what you did. but if I offset the transmit and receive frequencies by 5 MHz then it should work I guess. similar to a repeater?
I FIGURED IT OUT! USING TWO XPR6550 RADIOS I SET EACH RADIO TO HAVE ITS OWN UNIQUE ID. LETS CALL RADIO ONE ID 1 AND RADIO 2 ID 2. SETUP RADIO 1 AND MAKE A DIGITAL CHANNEL AND SET TRANSMIT CONTACT TO PRIVATE ID 2. MAKE SURE ADMIT CRITERIA IS SET TO COLOR CODE FREE AND SET 'INCALL CRITERIA TO 'ALWAYS'. SET RECEIVE GROUP TO ANY GROUP YOU LIKE- (3, 4, 1000,ETC)- JUST MAKE SURE BOTH RADIOS RECEIVE GROUP MATCH. THEN- REPEAT THE SAME PROCESS ON THE 2ND RADIO- BUT SET TRANSMIT CONTACT TO ID 1 SO IT CALLS THE OTHER RADIO. MAKE SURE BOTH RADIOS HAVE SAME TRANSMIT AND RECEIVE FREQUENCIES. ONLY WORKS ON DMR MODE SIMPLEX MODE. THX RADIOSIFICATION YOURE THE BEST!
Could you do an example of the prohibit tone , I have a complex question , on my xpr3500 when I transmit an all call the receiving radio will do the regular beep beep beep busy tone , every now and then when I transmit the all call and key up it will sound a bonk type noise saying channel busy , any ideas what this is , I have prohibit tone checked and I’m still confused as to what this setting is
Channel busy means that there is already a transmission on the channel. Check in the CPS what you have admit criteria set to. If it's on colour code free then it means someone else is transmitting on the same colour code and timeslot as you're trying to transmit on. This could be a group call to a group you don't have programmed in, or it could be a private call.
If it's on channel free then it means there could be another transmission on the channel in analogue or another DMR colour code, or it could just be interference. For this reason I recommend using only the colour code free option.
Also, using All call is not recommended for regular operations because it works slightly differently to normal calls, such as not allowing other users to talk back. With a regular group call your radio will always talk back to the same group if you transmit before it vanishes from the screen. All call should be used only for things like announcements to everyone on the channel when you don't want them to be able to reply. Instead of using an all call, just program your radios so that they are all talking on one talkgroup.
radiosification will do , thanks so much for the thought out response , I do have my radios on a group call for standard operations but I am working on setting up an all call channel that is a priority 1 on a scan list and I just need to set up the prohibit tone but don’t know exactly what it is . Thanks again for the response .
@@Bluedog5581 Got it solved?
What is that tone when you release the PTT? How did you configure that?
I don't think there is any tone upon releasing the PTT
@@radiosification Like chicago pd and nypd. When they release the ptt it makes a sound.
I think you was hearing the channel free indication tone. This is a tone heard by the receiving radio when the transmitting radio releases its PTT, thus releasing the channel for another radio to key up.
@@video6025 Which radio they were using, DMR or P25? Different types of radios have different types of indication tone?
This was a unnecessarily confusing video. If you just had the radios standing up we could have seen the RX/TX light and know where the sounds and tomes were coming from. How it is in this video I have no idea.

?
How doi add this feature to my xpr6550
Chandler Moon it's not a feature. It's just part of how the radio works. It is normally there
How do I make it to were my radio pings the other radio and beeps
private call it
Ok
Can you send me a copy of your code plug so I can look how yours is setup
