I “rescued “ a Singer 328k because the person who had inherited it said it didn’t work. I installed a new belt and it works perfectly. I am waiting for a gifting opportunity to present itself so I can pass it on to someone who will love and care for it. Thanks for your video, it is very helpful for someone who wants to get up and running with this machine.
I'm getting a 317 this week. It's been PAT tested but doesn't work, here's hoping I can get the old girl working! If the motor is gone at least I can still hook this machine up to a treadle and use it that way.
I have a 315 is there anywhere I can find extensive trouble shooting for it as I'm having trouble with the setup threads keep bunching on one or the other side and jamming I think it's something with the tension but I don't know how to remedy it
Bonjour, j'ai une question, j'ai ce modèle de voiture et la courroie s'est cassée, quel numéro ou quelle est la taille pour pouvoir acheter. S'il vous plaît aidez-moi Merci
Are you concerned about possible asbestos in the motor or foot pedal? Picked one of these up today and its my first electric machine, I have previously only had treadle and handcrank for that fear!
@@CurioByBSpokeDesigns it certanly sews great. Bought it with the intention to handcrank as I saw they could be treadled so assumed handcrank too. I see there is nowhere to mount a handcrank but may look into those handcranks that screw into the stop motion wheels!
I got mine free from freecycle. Its working but when i turn the switch on, it starts automatically. Is the fault in the pedal? update. I found your video on repairing pedal. removed the capacitor and fixed it. ty

Pick me! 🙋♀️😂😂😂
Lol, jk. However, I did just get given a beautiful “Blue Magic” 348 myself last week, these singers are such pretty gals!

I have a singer genie zig zag I got in the early 70s it still works well got it for my birthday when I was 16 I'm now67
I also have a Singer Genie, although they were called Starlet here. Lovely little machines but they can suffer from brittle plastic gears.
Would you suggest that you could use this machine for repairing sails?
no. I think you would need a more heavy duty machine, such as an industrial.

It really does sound like a tension issue. Rule of thumb is whatever side there is thread 'nesting' the tension is loose on the other side.

Bonne question ! Il faudra que je vérifie.
hey was wondering if there was a light switch button. cant seem to find it... thanks!
I'll have a look for you but I think it does.
@@CurioByBSpokeDesigns only if you find the time. ive been too busy to make a thorough examination yet so i might just be overlooking it!

That's a good question. I believe only small amounts of asbestos may have been used in the footpedals and these can be removed carefully

Did these have all metal internals like the 327?
Yes - apart from the permanently installed plastic zig zag cam
@@CurioByBSpokeDesigns in that case it's another model for me to keep an eye out for. I love the 327 and 328 🙂
