- The great Tomb of Nazarick is the home base of Ainz Ooal Gown and one of the most interesting Evil Fortresses every imagined.
So lets dive deep into the underground and have a look at the true seat of power in Overlord.

Ainz should erect a tomb stone outside the entrance that says " Here lay your hopes, dreams, and any chances of survival once pass this point." Give people a nice little heads up so they can't say they weren't warned like a certain worker group.

The scary thing about nazarick is that as more time passes the more powerful they become because thanks to the item Exchange box they can continuously create more yggdrasil gold using items from the new world like food or the currency of that world. Essentially by collecting taxes in the sorcerer Kingdom every year like every other Nation they can use the yggdrasil gold that they would gain from exchanging the materials from those taxes to buy more soldiers for the sorcerer kingdom's military but not just any soldiers because what's scary about the mercenary monsters is that they don't really have a maximum level cap so they could just buy more evil Lords which are level 80 or they can buy permanent cherubim Gatekeepers which are also level 80 hell if Ainz really wanted to he could even buy eternal deaths or Grim Reaper thanatos which are both level 90 and would be extremely dangerous and last but not least if Ainz really wanted to flex he can buy Overlord wise man's which are monsters belonging to the same species as Ainz.
So basically! They got this World BY THE BALLS.... NICE 😎

The members of Ainz Ooal Gown was rather high ranked in Yggdrasil. I mean, they were the 9th strongest guild among 9 others who had members in the hundreds! While they only had 41 members
Touch Me alone is #1 pvp player so...
Ainz Ooal Gown was at their best in the 9th place. At their worst, 48th. When the game shut down and only Momonga was online they were at the 29th place. Because the Light Novel doesn't mention anything about the rankings of the leaderboards, we have the consult to the Web Novel.
According to the Web Novel, many different factors affected the positioning of a guild in the leaderboards. These were things like the average level of players, world exploration points, number of World Items, production points, home base points, shifting of points during PK, unlimited accumulation of points during Guild Wars. According to rumor, the amount of money one spends is also a factor.
While the Web Novel isn't canon, it's the only source of information on this matter. If we compare it to the Light Novel, we will see that it makes sense. There is no way a guild of 41 players could be in the top 9 strongest guilds if some of them aren't even combat focused with their builds. Apparently, just Ainz alone can keep the guild at the 29th place. Assuming that rankings are based on the strength of the guild, it makes no sense what-so-ever to have a player which build-wise belongs to the upper portion of middle-tier players to be able to upkeep a guild's strength alone to the same power as other guilds with hundreds of players online.
@@SophiaDChaos Touch Me was not #1 PVP player. He was one of the nine World Champions of YGGDRASIL and was confirmed to be the World Champion of Alfheim by Maruyama Kugane on ARCADIA. Maruyama also claimed that Touch Me was one of the top three strongest players in YGGDRASIL. The Light Novel doesn't mention anything about Touch Me being #1 player in YGGDRASIL. Only the Web Novel mentions information regarding the different World Champion positionings, with Touch Me being the third strongest World Champion. However, we cannot use this as and say that Touch Me is also the third strongest World Champion in the Light Novels, as Maruyama stated Touch Me to be weaker in the Light Novels when compared to his Web Novel counterpart.
@@Vezoth56 I thought it was the amount of fighting power the guild possessed that affected the rankings. Ainz Ooal Gown spent lots of money on stuff that you would not get unless you paid real money and not Yggdrasil gold. Not to mention that Ainz Ooal Gown was the guild that possessed the most of "The Twenty" world items, which was the strongest world items in the game. The guild who had the second most of "The Twenty" world items only possessed 3, while Ainz Ooal Gown possessed 11 if I remember it correctly. So with them possessing so many world items that had the power to kill hundreds of players if used, then it makes sense that Ainz Ooa Gown was on such a high spot despite its fewer members compared to the other guilds
@@TheGodlikeDragon You're assuming that other guilds did not use cash-shop like Ainz Ooal Gown did. You're also mistaking World Class Items with The Twenty. Ainz Ooal Gown had 2 WCIs which belonged in the Twenty, and had collected 12 World-Class Items in total, one of which was stolen leaving 11 in their possession. That still wouldn't explain how Ainz alone can get and keep the guild up to the 29th spot if they were at their lowest on the 49th spot. I sincerely doubt that the activity of one player has such a ridiculous increase in ranking if combat power is the only thing being measured.
I wish it was possible in fantasy games for a team to conquer a dungeon and have it turned into a massive guild base.
Yggdrasil was a massive world whereas any fantasy game created now would have every dungeon beaten and claimed within a few weeks of being launched bc the games are just not big enough.

The sukoden series on playstation 1 had just that where you take over a dungeon to make it your base and recruit people to your cuase 108 people to be exact. Highly recommend the titles provided your into jrpgs.

It was mentioned in the overlord prolouge chapter that 700 level is the minimum level cap and high level dungeons can have a higher level cap for example nazarick had a level cap of 2000+but it was raised because nazarick was conqured in one try giving a level cap of 2700+ ontop of that the level cap was raised because of the guild spending money. I really wish that you mentioned this fact.
In what volume was that mentioned I don't recall reading that.
@@thelonehunter6025 He is referring to the Prologue Part 2 Side Story (Released as Overlord Blu-Ray Special 06) where Ainz Ooal Gown has been formed and they decide to try to take on the Great Tomb of Nazarick on their first try. However, he is slightly misremembering as the minimum cap wasn't said to be 700, but that was said to be the maximum cap for a city base.

@@Vezoth56 Oh okay now I understand why I missed that. I'm about to finish Overlord and I'm currently reading Volume 13 but I haven't read any of the extra volumes so I plan to read them as soon as I finish the main story.
Doesn’t Nazarick also have a set income? I was under the impression that the mercs had upkeep but the tomb is breaking even by turning off all features and putting the income to just maintain their troops. Maybe I’m remembering wrong....
even if it was shown for a mere 2 seconds in the film, Saturo Suzuki's apartment shows you that living alone isn't bad, and for him spending a third of his salary on the game is clear dedication for what he loves, also it shows you that the technical development into dive mmorpg games was everything left for regular civilians as is, the guy doesn't have parents anymore, and he doesn't have any crushes, he only has a job and a game that he loves to play, and all his loyalty went into his virtual game world... he has no pets, no actual responsibilities other than his job, yet you see how comfortable he made sure his chair was, and how clean the environment around him is! don't forget that when he login the machine he connects the cable right into his spine; meaning the technology now is one with the user!
and if you read the manga you would notice that when he speaks his actually has to talk using his own voice.
basically when he was teleported into the new world most likely he wasn't merely fused into his own avatar, more likely he was reincarnated as his own role playing character! i bet that his soul got stuck into the game while his own body had died.
my point is: even if he has the ability to go back to his world... will he really benefit from going back there? i mean he has nothing to go back to, and he's being treated with such RESPECT that not a single human being would show you at all! so yeah, maybe being an undead overlord isn't THAT bad after all!
i'd like to see the battle of the supreme beings when they fought nazarick to conquer it! it must have been an epic fight against the dungeon!

So wasn’t the invasion focus of 1,500.? So one level 100 is a god and a one man army plus Aniz is a role player so imagine the hyper focus players on pvp. The 1,500 player army would have been a battle of the gods like in Ancient Greece.
Well tbf all you needed was NPCs and the other guild mates to buy Ainz enough time to activate “the goal of all life is death” and wipe a huge portion of them out.

You're thinking in terms of our world, but in his world, that room was probably pretty good
@@neurondeactivation1643 I meant it as it may be big for his world but we really can't tell since it's apparent all he cares about is the game that the real world supports. His place would get cramped pretty quick if he had furniture and such.
You have to wonder what would happen if the guild dissolved in the new world. Would all the NPCs abandon their positions? Or would they remain loyal because, after becoming sentient beings, loyalty is all they've ever known?
The worst case would be that all of nazarick including it's NPC's would cease to exist.
The slayne theocracy has people descended from players so I'm assuming they would just act like normal humans/monsters and wreak havoc

What's the point of having three floors full of low tier monsters?
Sure, every level slows invaders down, but these monsters would need to be constantly replaced and that must be costly too.
Sure but they are a lot cheaper to replace than high tier monsters and have a lower upkeep cost. Not to mention it forces invaders to use crowd control and other spells and abilities. The goal of those levels was likely to force the invaders to show their hand and give valuable information to the guild. Plus as he stated the guild grounds came with a respawning small army of low level creatures so it likely was cheap and super effective for its purpose.

They're POP Monsters. They respawn on their own, and Nazarick's POPs are all Undead, so no upkeep costs.
eh reading comments about people wanting an mmo where you can conquer dungeons and create a guild base but man the thing i hate about mmo....you can only be the best and strongest player by not having a life and playing nonstop. That's the reason why i stopped playing mmos. It doesn't reallly take skills if 1) if you are a cash player or 2) you are a free player but play hours on end to get the best items. What i seek is an mmo where it requires skill whether it be reaction timing, intellect, etc. but aye thats' not going to happen until they come up with some VR sword art online kind of game where it doesn't involve presssing keys to play the game but rather using your mind or body movement. I'll be dead before a game like that come into existence.
There are PVP based MMO's where skill with reaction time can make or break a fight. The problem is that you still end up with 2 players with the same skill level, both hitting the level cap and the wars between the guilds is just about luck and dancing between two people. The one who plays the longest still gets the most gear. Minecraft is a good example of a game where your level cap and item cap are easily achievable. Fonline works that way too.
Quick question, based on your accent im assuming you have a German background. Are there Overlord LN translated to german in book shops in your country. Im curious as to how vast light novels in general have spread in popularity.

I ordered the english ones, since I don't even know if the light novels have been translated to german. But the Manga get updated on a refgular basis. But Kugane Maruyama will come to Mannheim in August.
