Bought this a few weeks ago and love it, but there really aren't that many 'how to play well' videos. There are some from PQ, Malta, Trenlass, etc. but nothing super comprehensive. But regardless would love PQs take on Marceau in the current meta.

Fun fact : Colbert's 127mm HE has natively more damage than its counterparts (2100 DMG VS the regular ~1800 DMG HE shells of this caliber get).
When you pick Heavy HE shells (and you should, since the caliber is lower than 149mm, you don't suffer worse concealment), you end up with a whopping 2310 DMG per shell.
That's more than Worcester's 152mm shells (2200 DMG) ! All with the rate of fire 127mm allows.
And that's why Colbert's DPM is so high.
IF they penetrate, that is.
Imagine an aa cruiser of the 50's literally covered by AA guns getting crushed by dive bombers

Fought John the Ruthless's Colbert in my Bungo once, 12km engagement. Absolute nightmare, it was like that feeling of fighting a carrier.

Colbert no conceal 13.8km range full damage is unironically the proper build. Not a preferred or aggressive build, it is truly the only build you should run on this ship.
I do agree that it's the only proper build for Colbert, but you can definitely be aggresive with it, you just need to be smart about it, in fact it's preferable, because you will be a constant pain to the enemy and with such a range you need to do risky things, otherwise that dpm goes to waste.
Full AP Zao, the Assassin of Cruisers needs to be shown.
Yeah! I've absolutely murdered some cruisers with Zao's Ap, it truly is an underrated ship, it one of my favourites, and i'd pick it over Yoshino. Simply because Zao's dispertion and sigma are way better. However i like Yoshi too if RNG favors her a little
Friesland/Groningen is one of my favorites. Love to see how you're playing it these days
I have met Friesland only once in match . I was in my Thunderer and it was painful. Even Smolensk is not that strong in my opinion or maybe it was just very very good player.

Something you have never done: the Super Battleship Mikasa. Cross the T and go in with both broadsides blazing.
I would love to see the Kii ! Its such a great Battleship at Tier 8
Kii's a pretty decent ship, she can be a surprisingly decent IJN brawler like the Iwami if given a dedicated secondary build. Those 100mm turrets which possess similar characteristics (including improved armor pen capacity) as the Akizuki's main batteries, coupled with the common casemate 140s and especially the aft Long Lance torps give her a huge advantage in close quarters engagements. Only issues with her are the somehow worse main armor belt layout than Amagi that causes her to eat citadels more often when broadside (quite ironic that the battlecruiser design turned out to have a better protection scheme than the actual battleship), slightly shorter main battery range than her cousin, as well as generally wonkier dispersion and lower sigma value. Maybe she is indeed built to be the IJN take on German brawler BBs from the start...
I play the Kii at least once a day so I can get that phat credit bonus.

Feast or Famine type outcome Ship, I don't Know what to thick, but That DPM looks juicy, which then makes the paper side armor go down a bit easier. I like it!!!. All the matches were fun to watch, Thank you Potato Quality. Any ship Allied only T-XII on the ship request question. Ok, now Thank you!. :)
It is the highest HE and AP dpm cruiser in the game ...in dpm it is to cruisers wht Marceau is to dds
I genuinely enjoy your content, even when you occasionally get a tad stressed about actual versus expected performance.
Many if not most ships perform much better when in a division with complimentary ships.
For example, Bayern with an American DD providing approach smoke is a beast. Low tiers with little to no radars are a lot of fun.
I played a game yesterday where John was on enemy team in colbert. His team was down so bad, and he was clawing them back the best one ship could. At the very end of the match, there were 4 friendlies against him. I had unfortunately died, but i did trade a ship out when i died. I was in daring trying to rush down a sub i had hydroed. I went around island and ran into an almost full hp thunderer in suicide range unexpectedly lol. When he was last spotted he was kiting, which was smart because he was outnumbered and getting pushed. So him turning around and pushing was a bad idea. So i didnt get the sub after all, but I did get him killed via my spotting and i got torps off on thunderer. We had the caps and points. Didn't need to kill John, but you know my remaining teammates had to try to win harder. In the final second of the game, John was finally killed. John's final Salvo killed my last friendly. I think John had like 6 or 7 kills and a bunch of xp for a loss

The bullshit that passes for randoms these days is THE reason I almost exclusively play ranked. Done that for the last couple of years because people generally have to push.

Contrary to most streamers (who make you believe they only get 180K games) , you are posting also bad games where over extending gets punished.
For the average player like me it is comforting ...
I came back to the game after 4 years of absence and I'm really struggling.
My experience curve is a bellshape centered on mid tier, (since I grinded all of my ships) but when I look at player profile now (90% T10), I realize most play very few low tier and than buy premium Tier 10.
This has two consequences
- Lower tier are less populated, and when you play T8, you get always a T10 Match Making (with premiums)
- The majority stay in the back of the map and snipe, even when all the cap circles are red ... (very frequent with high stats guys, just farming).
Stupidely I get frustrated, I try to compensate, push , overextend and get devstrike.
I have to learn like you to laugh about it, and just concentrate to do my possible best ... especially since I love playing cruisers.
Unfortunatly CL like my Seattle for instance is impossible to play, and I had to exchange coal for Napoli, to be able to play agressively and still get over 10mn of play ...
Have to grind heavy cruisers like the French Marseille line, or the DM line (I love the Baltimore, and btw wouldn't mind seeing a video on it, from you ?).
Will go through your other videos, I like the tone, the calm and the comments on positionning = one more subscriber for you 😀👍

Radar and AA build don't mesh that well in a Minotaur.
I find Colbert to be the most beautiful and modern looking ship.
Never thought to try lighthouse, gonna give it a go today.

The Chad radar Minotaur
Radar mino pushing with you when you are in dd is pretty powerfull. Like it may die, but it will take all dds on cap with him...
Playing radar in today's META is just objectively dumb.
Easily plane spotted = no ambush = dev strike. Smoke build Minotaur is stronger than it has ever been, while Radar build is at its weakest.
I say this as a huge Radar Minotaur fan.
@@snorkman2 Unfortunately I do have to agree with you. I’ve been switching between the 2 since I got the ship but I find myself running smoke almost every battle. The only exceptions being in a division. Unfortunate, but my favorite part is the dpm, and that it still retains.

Actually Colbert is very fun & nice to play around. Fires, dogde & overpen really Colbert's "best friend".
According to the RPs, there were many shots can be avoided with ease by dodging/overpen w/o showing broadside & over focusing on DPM undermine the power survival .
Nevertheless survival can be a key for Colbert in many cases to farm more DPM & possible to turn the tide. Nice RP BTW.

@@BSoDexe It is bad. Like if you play T9-10 there is mostly like 2-4 radar ships in each team. All cruisers have hydro and some BBs have radar. Also CVs and subs don't help much.

In cv games, I get deleted a lot in cruisers. Especially if there are a lot of big gun overmatch bbs. It feels like they just all wait for me to get spotted then have insane dispersion when they hit me. Always feels that way anyways. Then when I'm in a bb I really struggle to ever do anything like these people do. I just hope to randomly get lucky lol

Why reload over range? It already has blistering fast reload but terrible range.
I would take range mod too especially in combination with lighthouse build. Just gotta get comfortable with leading the shells.

Got this thing as my first 🌟 ship from a crate 3 weeks into the game. It's so forgiving for noobs
instead of superintend id go for conceal and drop fire chance so 10.9 conceal more deadly
