aubsdaddy So someone born in England, with Sri Lankan parents, is automatically a Muslim? You know that multiple people who are born and live there AREN'T Muslims right? Her mom was actually a practicing Christian and she went to multiple schools with backgrounds that were Christian. But besides all that, WOW what a racist jerk you are! You're worse than people who love songs until they find out who sings them and are all "oh well I hate that song now."
hummm....It happens that i know a lot of those poeple in the video.....most these poeple learned the languages in the movie industry..The man who speaks too much has been doing this job for 50 years...may be 3 times your age. Arabs are humans you know. I am one i can't teach you english, french, spanish, arabic and manners as well ^^
look morocco was colonized by france so must of people here now french but for english few of us moroccan knew it if you went to big city in morocco you will see people who know english because actualy french is our second language
***** I do believe you missed the point he was trying to make. He was commenting that so many *other* people who commented on this are confused as to why the people in this video speak French, and he thinks that it's because none of the other people commenting went to school and learned any history about this part of the world.
It's an incredible video and I loved getting more insight on it from this doc. One of the most breathtaking shots in the video was midway through when MIA is chilling on top of the car as it rides sideways, and she utters the line "My chain hits my chest when I'm bangin on the dashboard..." I play it back over and over....magnificent.
i really respect mia as an artist and as a woman, its refreshing to see an artist who doesn’t resort to using her sexuality, and that retains some kind of message in her music/imagery. loved the last shots of her and the men dancing. western media rarely shows any positive imagery -
you are right i'm from morocco and my countrie is totaly different than the other african countries we can say the same about all north africa and we are not uncivillized like many people think
I watched the official video and loved it so much that I had to come watch this video and loved it so much that I have to go back & watch the official again... I can see this'll be a never ending cycle.
One of my favorite music videos, it's not over the top, but it's unlike anything I have ever seen. Ce qui me choque le plus c'est qu'en plus ils parlent français!
The vibe of this video was immaculate. It’s truly a one of a kind, last the test of time piece of art. I come back to watch it at least once or twice a year and it still blows me away and gives me chills.
M.I.A always has such incredible videos! This was a real treat to watch, fascinating insight into the video. Loved the drifting and stunts, but I also loved the arabic dance! MIA TRUE INNOVATOR, and such an iconic artist!!
Always wondered how they made this video, kinda thought they just rocked up to to Iraq or something and just told the the locals to go nuts while they film it, never understood where the ginger kid came from though, kid looks boss ;-)
i love old people!!!!!all colors all races and religions!!!!!they get high with simple stuff, they have clear and full of wisdom point of view about life!!!!!salute morocco!!!!love from greece!!!
@@Rotisiv Shot as in filmed, it's another word for filming or taking a photo haha, I understand your confusion. They're saying that they are saudia arabian women, they are just filming in morroco (bc at this time it was illegal in saudi), hope you can understand better now :D
I don't know if everyone caught it in the early part of the video, but I had such a huge smile on my face when the old Moroccan man at the beginning was talking about life's desire, to each their own. Just warmed my heart a bit to see that the live and let live attitude, even in places where Western society acts like it isn't. Even about something as controversial as sexuality, as the man specifically mentioned.
This amazing artist is MIA, she’s half Indian & Half Sri-Lankan. She’s born in 1975 & Her full name is Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam. She was raised in Britain & lived in Sri lanka, near india, until she was 10.
It's really cool that a woman does the scariest stunt in this video. I'm sure they did it on purpose too. I love M.I.A. so much. Such a free thinker, so unique.
Although I knew two-wheel drifting was real I assumed that the M.I.A chilling-out-of-the-car stuff was made with effects or something. Then I saw it was actually real also. FUCKING AWESOME!
Kind of interesting his comment about the American flag being aggressive and "representing a country always at war"... I mean he's not wrong I suppose, but it's not something you'd think of normally as an American. Yeah... Interesting...
Feralcus I've begun to notice it a few years back. I live in America, but I'm not American. And it really is a political statement that they feel like they have to make. And surprisingly, a lot of non-americans tend to notice that trend
I know this is old but he was referring to two separate things. He said in American music videos there are often American flags, after that he talked about how he thought Americans might see saudi symbolism as aggressive and "representing a country always at war" and how he was surprised that that was not the case. He did not mean that he thought those things about the American flag or the saudi symbolism, I hope that cleared it up for you :D
def really cool, also the actual video is phenomenal its what lead me here dont much care for a lot of pop music but they did a great job with this song and videos!
i really hated that creep... she's an incredible artist making a brilliant video and all he can say is she had a pretty face. really now -_-. keep it in your pants son.
Keep in mind that he didn't actually say that, it's a translation. The way he said it in French might not have the same negative associations to a French listener as the translation does in American English. Or maybe it does, I don't actually know. Just keeping an open mind.
He actually said she's "hot girl," but they cleaned it up in the translation: "she's a pretty girl." So what they translated as "colored" was probably pretty coarse too. Can't hear it clearly in the translation.
I'm an American, typical by most standards. Support our troops but always conflicted about war. I think this video is great, as well as MIA. Much of middle eastern culture is unavailable to us, but every glimpse I get, its so obvious, we are all children of the same planet.
i technically liked the MV and i also liked this behind the scenes video, but i just wanna clarify that those people don’t represent all the arab maghreb, also the islamic nation, they just represent their own country which is morroco.
Loved that she made the making to the vid, I wanted to see what was behind all this...LOVE IT!
