    I loved this video. Thank you. I haven't been back to Chopwell since about 1990. I was born in William St and saw two of the pictures from when it was the Queen’s silver jubilee in 1977! Such happy memories. My dad was well-known - Ernie Gibson. He died in 2010 but my mam Vera has just turned 81!

    Hi all the guys from chopwell,
    I think your page is top notch,
    I lived in Mersey street from 40s to early60s
    Worked in no1 pit ,east side Tilley as a young lad
    then Whittonstall drift mine then spen and Emma pits
    Before I went on the high seas MNavy,came back to the
    home town(always will be) then worked locally and was
    roadie for the silver dollars,great times,then got the wanderlust
    again travelling,and yet again hit the seas again RN, and now live in the
    stoke on trent area,but still call chopwell my home,
    Thanks for your page,hope to have a visit in future times all been well,
    Pete, Burbidge ,ps,grandads name was winstone minks ,could fix anything,

    Both my dad and uncle Eric and Tom Little,Eric is the tall kid at the back,hes still has the bible he got that day,sadly Tom died of covid 4 years ago(Salvation Army photo)
