The entire khutbah is powerful but the ending how did ustadh tie the concept of bani Israel demanding to eat all of those foods (them missing their colonizers) to the relatively modern day situation of Muslim nations (dressing, talking and foegetting their values) just mind blowing. This is why his observations are always brilliant. ❤

Your job is to strive for Allahs sake and do the best you can to make the world a better place following The Sunnah of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wassalam)
Bismillah, notes taken as khutbah heard:
1. Biggest surah is Al Baqarah, right after Al Fatihah - it contains comprehensive summary of Islam.
2. We are children of Ibrahim as - most prophets are from his lineage.
3. Allah chose Bani Israel a special status - and gave them many prophets. It’s the blessings Allah gave them, they’re greatly honoured and therefore this nation have bigger responsibility than everyone else (to promote peace, mercy, model family life). And of course in Baqarah Allah highlighted Bani Israel failed in many ways.
4. Allah doesnt destroy nations when they dont live up to the responsibility expected - example Bani Israel escape from the Pharoah, they asked for ‘slave-food’ and obviously missing some aspects when they were under oppression. Stuck where they are, in a rot.
5. Principles - we are currently being tested as a society - what does it mean being an ummah? We need to do more, do more positive things together, absolutely essential to foster relationship with one another, to start being a real ummah, with collective efforts. But it starts with individuals making real steps to contribute towards being a society. No use complaining about the ummah being divided if we dont have play a part at all.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) Said:
"In 3 situations, if you pray a dua, it will definitely get accepted"
1) your body starts shaking.
2) when you got fear in your heart.
3) when you got tears in your eyes."
The prophet also said:
"Who ever shares this knowledge, he will have a house infront of me in Jannah." (AI-Bukhari)

يَايُّهَا الَّذِينَ امَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَ النَّصْرَى أَوْلِيَاءَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ إِنَّ الله لا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظَّلِمِينَ
O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you - then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.

The feeling of being an ummah, that needs to connect with each other and apply the best of Islam, and the best of what learned from the west, is what i had inside me all the time, but I was not able to apply it every day. The sense of ummah is important and needed to be teached a lot more and practiced

Beware of every hour and how it passes, and only spend it in the best possible way, do not neglect your- self or Allah, but render it accustomed to the noblest and best of actions, and send to your grave that which will please you when you arrive to it. This worldly life is like a shadow. If you try to catch it, you will never be able to do so. If you turn your back towards it, it has no choice but to follow you.

The Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) once said as reported in Tirmidhi, 1376:
“When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: sadaqah jaariyah (ongoing charity, e.g. a waqf or endowment), beneficial knowledge (which he has left behind), *or a righteous child who will pray for him.”,*
The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) also said:
*A man’s status will be raised in Paradise and he will ask, ‘How did I get here?’ He will be told, ‘By your Son’s Dua'a (Children's prayers) for forgiveness for you.”*
So let's make sure to do a lot of Dua'a for our parents and the whole Muslim Ummah in general

▪️The Quran is clarification
(tibyana) of all things (16:89)
▪️The Quran provides its own best explanation (ahsan tafsir) (25:33) The Quran
is the ultimate scale (mizaan) (42:17)
▪️The Quran is evidence (bayyinah) (20:133)
▪️The Quran is the criterion
(furqan) between right and wrong (25:1)
▪️God forbids people from following any law
except THE Allah's laws in the Quran (6:114)
▪️Whoever judges by other than the Quran, they are Kafir (ingrates-disbelievers) (5:44)

is Allah's statement (the Quran) (39:23)
▪️The Quran forbids you from following or believing in something without understanding it (17:36)
▪️The Quran expects you to study
and think deeply about its AYATS (47:24)
▪️Allah protects the Quran
from human tampering / corruption (15:9)
▪️No one can alter Allah"s words (6:115)

upon giving rights to minorities.
▪️Islam is based
upon enjoying happy and peaceful life.
▪️Islam is based
upon learning, thinking, logic, reasoning and intellect.
Salaat is not a ritual prayer.
You have salaat with Allah and salaat with people. Every agreement pledge you make you need to fullfil and not currupt give zakaat.
Salaat is the covenant with Allah 5:7
And remember the blessings of Allah over you and His covenant that He has bound you with, for which you have said: "We hear and obey," and be aware of Allah for Allah knows what is in the (sudoor)
FASIQOON = Those who violate/break Allah's pledge after it is covenanted (2:27)
FASIQOON = Those who turn away (TAWALLA) from the reminder, pledge, covenant as guidance from Allah (3:82)
He did not confirm (SADDAQA) nor did he commit/uphold commitment. (SALLA). (75:31)
But he denied (KATHTHABA) and turned away (TAWALLA) (75:32)
Those who turned away (TAWALLA) from the pledge, covenant as guidance, are =
Those who did not commit/uphold commitment (SALAT) to the pledge, covenant, as guidance =
Those who broke or violate the pledge, covenant as guidance =
The rebellious/defiantly disobedient (FASIQOON)=

Remember Allah"s blessing upon you, and His 👉covenant that He covenanted with you👈you said, 👉"We hear and we obey." 👈

👉And those who deliver what Allah has ordered to be delivered 👈and they are concerned towards their Lord and they fear a terrible reckoning.

👉For those who responded to their Lord is goodness. 👈👉As for those who did not respond to Him, if they had all that is in the earth twice over, they would offer it to be saved👈 To these will be a terrible reckoning, and👉 their abode is hell👈what a miserable abode.
42:47
👉Respond to your Lord before a Day comes from Allah which cannot be averted. You will have no refuge for you on that Day, nor an advocate.👈
4:165
👉Messengers who were bearers of good news and warners, so that there will be no excuse for the people with Allah after the messengers. Allah is Noble, Wise.👈
UPHOLD THE COMMITMENT (SALAT) TO FOLLOW/OBEY/FULFILL WHAT ALLAH HAS MADE HARAM (AS THE SANCTIONS/COMMANDMENTS (AL-HARAAM)) AS THE COVENANT AND REMINDER FROM ALLAH.
Quran (11:84)
And to Median, their brother Shuaib. He said, “O my people, serve allah; you have no god/Ilah other than Him. And do not short measure or short weight. I see you in good circumstances, but I fear for you the agony of an encompassing Day.” (11:84)
👉“O my people! Give full measure and full weight, in all fairness, and do not cheat the people out of their rights, and do not spread corruption in the land👈(11:85)
What is left by Allah is best for you, if you are believers. And I am not a guardian over you.” (11:86)
They said, “O Shuaib, does your commitment (SALAT) COMMAND (TA'MURU) you that we abandon what our ancestors worshiped, or doing with our wealth what we want? You are the one who is intelligent and wise.” (11:87)
He said, “O my people, have you considered? What if I have clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me good livelihood from Himself? I have no desire to do what I FORBID (ANHA) you from doing. I desire nothing but reform, as far as I can. My success lies only with God. In Him I trust, and to Him I turn.” (11:88)

if the moon suddenly gets out of its orbit like shown in British TV series Space 1999 ( you can watch some of the episodes from YT ) and drifts off into space I often wondered as w child how will our brothers fight over Eid moon sightings with mullahs in western mosques also 😂. That led me to study Quran, hadith and science 🧪.

Who brought us here and why and what would happen when we die?!
There is only one truth and you should search for it.
Lots of converts have non Muslim parents whom were born in non Muslim countries.
Yet they find there way to Islam.
And as a Muslim it's your purpose to worship god.
"And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship" (51:56)

I felt the exact same! It made me so happy to hear the ayahs I’ve memorised, and made it almost easier to relate to
They were chosen children because they were homeless and fatherless children which their mothers left them on the streets, they needed community support. Child is a child and are not defined by their fathers.
