I know everyone on every trance page goes on about the late 90s early 2000s being the best trance years ever.....and as I remember standing amongst thousands of people at Gatecrasher '31.12.99' for the turn of the millennium, I can only say I agree. However, the reason for this I believe was that back then none of us had mobile phones or social media to build an image of our lives for all to see...None of us were out to gain popularity through comments on photos or videos of our life...Trance WAS our life!!! We were in total harmony and unity with each other, because we shared such an intense connection through the experiences we shared at these events. We knew we had no way of ever reliving that moment again, no matter how many photos we took (with our disposable cameras!) I look at shows and festivals online now and see an ocean of people just pointing their phones at the DJ...yet hardly moving...and I just wanna scream at them "Dance!!! Dance, chat, mingle, hug, kiss, hold hands up together...do ANYTHING because you will never get that moment or those feelings back!" Why do you think so many of us oldies moan? Deep down I think we'd give anything just to be that free again. Enjoy your youth and the music you love! Peace!

It is not just the oldies. I'm in my late 20s and I quit social media 4 years ago, and I haven't looked back. Smartphones and social media has ruined society. Live in the moment!

Well I'm now 48 and still love trance with a passion. Surrounded by fossils that listen to the same rehashed 80's rubbish. So many fond clubbing memories in the late 90's when trance was at its best

Steve Istvan I am the the same i started raving in 93 and stopped first time round in 2003.
I started going back out in 2016 there are so many good tunes being produced again, all of the important elements are there i actually prefer a lot of the new stuff out there I personally think that there are so many better tracks that weren't include in this have a look at my 2018 playlist.
