Arrested Development is an American television sitcom created by Mitchell Hurwitz. The show follows the Bluths, a formerly wealthy dysfunctional family. It is presented in a serialized format, incorporating handheld camera work, voice-over narration, archival photos, and historical footage. The show maintains numerous running gags and catchphrases. Ron Howard serves as both an executive producer and the omniscient narrator and, in later seasons, appears in the show portraying a fictionalized version of himself.
The series received critical acclaim, six Primetime Emmy Awards, and one Golden Globe Award, and attracted a cult following. It has been named one of the greatest TV shows of all time by publications including Time, Entertainment Weekly, and IGN. It influenced later single-camera comedy series such as 30 Rock and Community.

Super Dave!!!! Rip ❤
Well thanks for ruining my night.
He was no Einstein
On the DVD commentary, they were talking about how Bob Einstein doesn't learn lines so they literally had someone feeding him his lines in that earpiece. Amazing.
No way🤣
I always find it hilarious whenI hear stories about actors who refuse to learn lines. That has to be the only job where you can get away without doing a core component of it and still having a chance at being a legend
I mean, in this case the actor was in character about as much as. he could have been
@@JohnBasedowYoda I don't think in this case he was ''refusing'' per se, maybe it was done on purpose to achieve the desired comedic effect
The hug fake out was perfect. His physical comedy is just as brilliant as his deadpan line delivery.
Please do a best of Carl Weathers! RIP
And I'll be bringing you some salmon rolls, right away!
(Heaven)
I cannot get over how the surrogate is walking away while actively saying and being told not to go
Middle man... 20 years later and I just caught this
MY MAIN MAN MIDDLEMAN!
Little meatloaf - ET’s Limor Fried
RIP Super Dave
Who's idea was it to hire the funniest guy ever?
That opening line "We're not here to talk nonsense with Bob Loblaw" 😂
WahWahWah
Never noticed before how George senior says at 03:03 “I’m watching the game” and Larry only repeats it at 03:07 because of the lag
Thank you for pointing that out lol
Good catch
He is worth every penny.
Hey I didn’t say that!
It's a shame that Funkhouser had to work as a surrogate. Good thing that Larry David or Richard Lewis never discovered this. They would have mocked him to pieces
I heard Mr Fuji screwed him over big in the end and he was left broke...
What an einstein.
In the DVD extras (😱) he gets a lot of praise from the cast and producers for this role. He also apparently never liked to memorize lines, so this was kind of perfect for him.
Bob Einstein really pulled these two characters off
One of the best comedic premises and executions ive ever seen, sincerely. And casting marty funkhouser was a stroke of genius
"it'll look real if you squint GOD KNOWS THEY'RE SQUINTERS!" 😂😂
My favorite part!!
I was so unprepared for that one, had me ROLLING
“He’s worth every penny”
“Hey I didn’t say that”
Lmao, Larry knows how to promote himself
But he can't sell the sarcasm.
“You shouldn’t have said anything.”
“YOU shouldn’t have said anything!”
I'm glad that even a pro like Larry has a breaking point. It really fills him out as a character
i love how job just accepts him as his dad
Gob and yes!!
@@arresteddev Did I say job? I meant Gob!
But of course it was Buster that hit her, Gob just gave her the roofie
funny how they represent that at 4:05 with Larry standing in front of George Senior's frame
@@arresteddev no he had it write the first time
"Gob was bonding with the man he thought his father was controlling."
"Neato"
Almost done with the Water Tower
His name is Larry Middleman. How did I miss this 💀
hahaa!! I never thought of that. Had to think for like 20sec before I even understood this comment...
Maybe I'm overthinking this but I don't get it
@@justdaffy middleman. noun. mid·dle·man ˈmid-ᵊl-ˌman. : go-between. especially : a dealer between the producer of goods and the consumer
@@justdaffyHe’s acting as a middleman between George and the others
3:12 The fact that George sr is calling out Michael for not being present VIA his surrogate is just the icing on the cake.
Woah, just realized Rita’s uncle yelling at Michael “how’d you like someone going after some stupid person in your family” wasn’t him just being rude 😳
The foreshadowing in this series is legendary
@@kiraofthesky5561foreshadowing, backshadowing, sideshadowing, ... they split the time-space continuum in 16 pieces and made it the best show ever
@@kiraofthesky5561 Indeed. Mitchell Hurwitz even said in a commentary that he gave Ann that name just for the joke, "I think George Michael's hiding Ann in the attic." "From who, the Nazis?"
@@wvu05 Maeby's entire character was also named that way just for the 1st line she ever says, "Aren't you my cousin?" "Maeby(Maybe)"
@@wvu05 I thought her name was Egg
"I wanna kiss my new daughter-in-law!"
"Hey, not on our time Larry"
".. Right on the lips!"
Worth every penny
Hey, I didn’t say that
They should've had a scene of Lucille going out to lunch with Larry Middleman. That would've been hilarious.
The mirror bit might be my favorite moment in the show
The best writing done with perfect acting by super dave
Like they literally wrote "einstein" 4:06 in the scene for bob🤣
Fun fact: Albert Brooks is his younger brother, but changed his name for… obvious reasons.
"Just trying to make you laugh, dad. It's all I ever wanted" 😭
Literally just switched the channel on him poor guy
0:29 'i'm sorry, have we met?'
"Larry, go to a mirror" literal tears
1:44 RIP Super Dave this is the funniest shit
7:07
Well the mere fact she calls it that tells me she is ready
George lying on bed saying "I'm watching the game..." then Larry 2 seconds later from the other room "I'm watching the game..."
Missing the most clever part of this bit where they were in the board room saying there could be listening devices, then the camera goes to middleman, then a boom mic dips into the shot
“Don’t come in here. Don’t come in here”. This is one of the funniest comedic roles of all time. God bless Bob Einstein.
A real pro
Marty Funkhouser?! You're Mr. F?!?!
* Mr F theme song *
explain to the folks at home who marty funkhouser is.
“Check out banner, Michael!”
*Michael Love Marry*
LOL how did I never catch that they brought back the banner joke from earlier in the season!
4:05 Hidden layer when Larry says "Another brilliant idea, Einstein". The writers got Larry, played by Bob Einstein, to say his own name
RIP
Absolute legend
Larry go to a mirror
"Roar."
i just noticed the stenographer transcribing Larry's "beeps" at 0:56, superb attention to detail
God this show was so brilliant
“I’m sorry have we met” is such a good throwaway line
It’s the way he seems like he’s genuinely trying to find the words lol
Even pros have a threshold
One of the best things ever put on TV. My God 😂🤣😂🤣😂
george changing the channel on Gob is fucking hilarious
"Another brilliant idea, Einstein." I'm on the floor. 4:05.
i just realized that at 0:57 loblaw thinks his pager is going off while larry is repeating "beep beep beep"
no, his phone/pager is vibrating
When the mother goes into the camera to kiss; immediately her husband downsizes the image to go back to the game😂😂😂
God knows they're squinters.
Godzira!
he's got the perfect voice for it
I’m going to tell my grandchildren this was James Cameron’s Avatar
I said this on another video, but I find George Sr not wanting to be interrupted while watching baseball to be lovable for some reason. It’s just that, with him shouting “don’t come in here”, you expect him to be trying to escape or something lewd. But nah, the guy just likes his baseball.
3:35 I saw the trailer to Godzilla minus one at the cinema the other day, couldn't stop thinking about this scene & laughing at goooziiiiraaaaaaaaaa
Roar 😐 roar 😐
@@diegovillagomez5402 What? We're out of vodka!
Truly some of my finest moments.
At least dad cared enough to change to picture in picture on Gob rather than changing inputs.
"But even a pro like Larry has a breaking point" is still so funny, rip Bob Einstein
Roar. Roar.
George Sr.'s frustration remains absolutely incredible
I love the fact that Larry's just arguing with himself at the end
“The famous Bob Lablaw Law Blog”
Tobias
The whole arc with Gob and Buster bonding via the surrogate is just so fucking bizarre 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Such great writing.
the best part is when George sr changes the picture in picture on the TV 😅😅
One of my favorite parts of the show, same with uncle jack's handler
“He’s worth every penny” 🤣
the writing and editing on this show was like a Swiss watch
A great 3 season run!
"Neato" always gets me 😂
Goddamn it! 7:05 she’s so hot and funny. Damn ! this perfect woman. 😂
hey can you upload the scenes where the company accounts get unfrozen and everyone asks for money? It's the scene where Gob comes into Michael's office and asks for "some money"
it's Whistler's Mother (S1E20)!
Putting it on the list!
Goody yess!!
Greatest. Show. Ever.
It‘s just amazing how Larrys Voice is just the same no matter if in or out of character. Even as a person outside this show he talks like that. Just beautiful ❤
just tryna make u laugh dad.. its all i ever wanted lol
OMG THANK YOU
HES WORTH EVERY PENNY
how did they keep straight faces through any of these scenes????!!!
GOD BLESS SUPER DAVE!
Super Dave Osborne on the sketch comedy show "Bizarre" in 80's was epic. Even got dressed up like him for halloween.
I don't think until this moment I noticed this cast are trying hard to break Bob. Arnett/Hale aren't playing to Jeffrey Tambor they are playing to Super Dave. Editors cheers for hiding that. The freeze at 3:41 is Comedy Platinum. Especially, the Tambor picture on the wall. Set design... buy them a pizza too.
Love super. Hate Scott baio.
Wow PIP existed back then
It wasn't just a one way trip from France to Delaware, it was a roundtrip BACK to France after spending only one day in Delaware.
1:59 “How could I say no to that face!?” *camera pans to the Funkman giving a dead stare 😂
The fact that his last name is Middleman
They didn't I'm include the line when the mole is destroying tiny town and he's like "who will save our village?" 😭😭
Middleman….😂
he really was worth every penny
"My left, your right"
Goody 😂
Beep Beep Beep
Best show ever😂
Super Dave wildin
"God knows they're squinters!" 😅 never get away with that these days.
And yet that’s the kind of joke rich idiots still make.
RFK Jr needs to hire Larry Middleman
