Do you have ready spaces with tutorial guides set up like this but at the detail level of your course? Wondering if that would make the learning more seamless.
So glad this helped! YOU GOT THIS! ClickUp is really only scary when you dive headfirst into ClickUp's overcomplicated templates (or their advanced webinars). If you take it little-by-little -- totally doable! :)
Wow! You are amazing. You provided the best overview I’ve found thus far and actually made me excited to use the platform. The other videos made all of the features seem overwhelming but you explained it in a way that made me realize this is exactly how my brain works . Also....you’re just a REALLY fantastic teacher . Keep it up and please keep making videos, RUclips needs you 🔥🔥🔥🙌!
Aw, thanks Amina! Really appreciate comments like this -- as you know, RUclips is tough for small creators! I'm so glad this video helped ClickUp click for you (pun fully intended). Keep creating! :)
Amazing, definitely moving my agency to clickup! we used basecamp but realised later that it wasn't the most efficient tool to group different projects for the same client. Thanks for making this!!!
I've just come across your videos...Love them. I am using Asana and consider making a switch. Your video gave me a lot of heads-up and save my time! I also feel as excited as you do when I can use a good management tool to save me a lot of time :)
Unfortunately our ClickUp Templates are only available to our ProcessDriven Members at this time. 😓 However, the Templates are one of the mannnyyy benefits to joining, so it may be worth checking out for all that it has to offer!
Great video Layla! i'm just trying to use this to manage my customers like a CRM system. I have been playing with the system for just about an hr and can't seem to find the right thing to be able to do that. I want to have a list of customers and then be able to have a place with that customers info and create task inside of that account. does that make sense? any feedback is appreciated.
Hey! ClickUp can work as a CRM in a pinch, but it's certainly not best in class at this since it's primarily focused on task management. To get started, the easiest way would be to use ClickUp premade templates and selecting their CRM template as inspiration. Does that make sense? :)
Hey Carey! It depends how complex your projects are. I personally use Lists (now) but there are instances where Folders make sense. Do you have multiple projects per client happening at once? (+1 Vote for Folder) Do you have a productized service? (+1 for List) If you reply and share a bit more about your services we can talk this through? 👍
I own a custom cabinetry/woodworking business. Sometimes a client will get a full kitchen remodel, other times someone may just have a table built. So, it varies as to how many projects I have going at once.
@@careycraden4217 Gottcha! My husband's a carpenter, too (timberframe but he used to do remodeling, too) so I can relate pretty well to the amount of variety you're talking about. Assuming you're a small operation and you're not sharing these lists/folders with clients, I'd probably create one list for all small projects (like tables, etc.) and a separate list of any large projects, where you'll need more space to spread out the steps that need to be done. So if you had 2 large projects, it might look like: Folder: "Client Work" List #1: "Small Projects" Each task is a client name or order. Use subtasks for phases of project. List #2: "Remodel: Johnson Kitchen" Each task is a phase of the project. Subtasks & checklists add context. List #3: "Remodel: Mario's Porch" Each task is a phase of the project. Subtasks & checklists add context. Just my two cents! It depends how much detail you like to have. :)

Hey Doris! At 1:05 I click the checkmark that completes the task. I did this by having the Status for this List be only one of two choices: To Do and Complete. That's why there's a check and not a box (aka Status Dropdown) The reason this "check" action then HIDES the task, is because I do not have the "Show Closed" setting enabled. So, when a task is "Closed" it's hidden from my view. :) Let me know if this answers your question!
Wanting to love ClickUp as I am in search of a *CRM/Project Management program combo*. Know the start up story and they are certainly trending. Whole layout of it is tad overwhelming. Besides ClickUp, any other combo program? Help?
Hey Sara! At the time recording, CRM functions in ClickUp were pretty non-functional, but I’ll actually be releasing a video in a few weeks that explains how that would work - in a simple way! However, if you’d like to keep things super-simple and are more focused on a CRM...have you considered StreakCRM (Gmail)? That would hit both boxes in a much simpler in-inbox layout! ☺️ What type of stuff are you looking to manage, exactly?
@@LaylaPomper Appreciate prompt reply. Less about teams, but the CRM part: contact info for business, tagging for newsletter lists vs catering contacts vs vendors where I can export only certain lists for email client, call notes
It's a bit complex for some people's needs, but I definitely find it useful for personal use, too. I actually have a playlist on just that: ruclips.net/p/PLWhJ5L9a16ixrR3UkgRdj18wGfgKs4UmC

Hi! Thanks for doing this tutorial. I have one request. Can you please use a lighter background in your future tutorials? It is hard to see things clearly if you're watching this tutorial on a phone the size of a moto g7. Thanks again.
Hi Safphron! Thanks for the note. I'm using the "Dark Mode" view in ClickUp because it's easier on my eyes, but I can appreciate why a brighter display would be helpful for you to follow along on your phone. I have a few videos already scheduled that are recorded in Dark Mode, but subscribe and stay tuned -- I'm going to go record some more in the "normal" bright display to help! Sound good? :)
....too many word, no help for beginners, when you do a tutorial , you speak as the viewers don t have any experience, simple words, real solutions, clear gidelines, simple, SIMPLE, S-I-M-P-L-E!!!! This is a tour for a beginner to close the clickup and never open it again!
True that! TI made this as a "tour" (purposely not a tutorial!) just to give people a "big picture overview" of what the tool looks and feels like. We'll have a true beginner video coming down the line that's more what you're looking for. :)
Have a question about ClickUp? Leave me a comment!

The Time Tracked Widget shows the time tracked per Space and can be filtered to show 1 day. 🙂
