in a real fight it comes down to this is jeet kune do is about intercepting your opponents every move and countering it with opposite .for every punch mike throws bruce will counter with a kick question then becomes can bruce lees kick hit just as hard if not harder than a tyson punch .i personally would say yes as lee adopted the training style of rocky marciano for his kicks training with a 300lb bag instead of a 100 marciano used to train with a 200lb punching bag making his punches more powerful
if Bruce Lee was young and alive today, he would train in modern MMA adding BJJ and Muay thai to Jeet Kune Do. When Bruce met and trained with Judo Gene Lebell, Bruce added judo techniques to JKD. Mike Tyson himself has commented on this fight several times. He thinks Lee would have beaten him. Why? Because prime Mike Tyson only knew how to box, had no idea how to defend against kicks or grappling. Mike would clearly win in a boxing match, which would limit Lee to just boxing and Mike's size and strength would get him the win. In a MMA or grappling fight, Lee would win, as Mike Tyson himself has stated.
It all comes down to who’s facing whom. I’m a BOXER, with a background in kickboxing and amateur wrestling. Could an MMA fighter defeat me in an MMA match? Who knows. Consider the case of Ray Mercer, a retired heavyweight boxing champion. When he faced Tim Sylvia, a two time UFC heavyweight champion, the result was startling. As soon as the bell rang, Sylvia threw a kick, which Mercer blocked without effort. Then Mercer responded with a single right hand, knocking Sylvia out within nine seconds of the first round. Mike Tyson, too, has stood against some of the most powerful punchers in the sport’s history. Take Frank Bruno, for instance another former heavyweight champion whom Tyson bested. According to the official tests conducted by the British Medical Association, Bruno’s punch was measured at 0.63 tonnes of force. This isn’t idle speculation-these records are available to anyone willing to seek them out. And as for the curious rumor that Bruce Lee could best Tyson? When asked about this in an interview, Tyson didn’t hesitate to laugh. The notion was absurd to him, and rightfully so. The truth, after all, is rarely found in fantasy.
Mike Tyson 50 W- 4 L 46 KO would win easy not even close Mike was 220lbs and 5ft 11 1/2in tall and a real fighter who fought other pro fighters. Bruce Lee was 5ft 7in tall and was 145ibs and an actor fight record of 2 W- 0 L against other movie actors. Bruce Lee never fought anyone. Great marshal artist but not a fighter. Mike Tyson was a fighter who fought real fights.
