I will never understand why atlas rise isn't considered a 10/10 masterpiece by everyone
10/10 masterpiece is a bit too much, but definitely solid, and extremely fun to play on guitar
My guess is most everyone hearing the radio/video edit first that cuts out the best parts of the song, i was one of those peeps and was turned off from it for a while cause its felt weak and too derivative of iron maiden in the chorus. The whole album version is a totally different story it has the thrash we missed in in the other one.
I think the chorus is amazing, but the rest of the song doesn't match up.
Definitely. It's a banger.
I was actually really thinking about it about it too today
It's really cool
My “Hardwired Seasons” album
1. Hardwired
2. Lux Æterna
3. Crown of Barbed Wire
4. Halo on Fire
5. Moth Into Flame
6. Room of Mirrors
7. Too Far Gone?
8. Atlas, Rise!
9. Sleepwalk My Life Away
10. Dream No More
11. Spit Out The Bone
12. Inamorata
Runner ups if we were doing a 14 track list would be:
13. Screaming Suicide
14. Now That We’re Dead
Respect, but I would put "72 Seasons" too
@@fikec that would’ve been the next track added along with Here Comes Revenge. Those are my next favs from Hardwired and 72 Seasons
Great list! Props for including Room of Mirrors, that song went from "meh" to pure magic by my second time hearing it.
I'd take 72 Season's title track over Hardwired's, despite Hardwired being the first Metallica song I ever heard live.
You Must Burn instead of Sleepwalking, it has that really twisted middle section. Shadows Follow would also be hard for me to exclude.
Also, poor Confusion. The most epic song no one wants to listen to. Lol
Great 12 songs list.
Load/Reload the same thing.
@@shadowledastray It’s weird, I love Lars with all my heart but the amount snare hits/rolls he does in You Must Burn really turns me off the song
Confusion is really fun to play on the drums.
Shadows Fallow still needs to grow on home.
Inamorata and Shadows Follow are stuck in my head. I just love them! The rest are amazing as well but those two are my favourite. Stay safe Andriy, best wishes to you!
You did Atlas, Rise! so dirty.
i was thinking more like 72 seasons to self destruct thats pretty dark when you think about it and it sounds cool
About the name of the album I'd thought it would be cool "72 Seasons of Self-Destruct", I think it sounds really badass
Badass. Id change it ever so slightly...
"72 Seasons... of Self Destruction"
I did mine a few days ago and called it "72 Seasons... To Self-Destruct". Which hints at the idea of slowly spiraling down over the course of 18 years.
72 Seasons of Self Destruct
1. Hardwired
2. 72 Seasons
3. Chasing Light
4. Lux Aeterna
5. Spit Out The Bone
6. Room of Mirrors
7. Lords of Summer
8. Shadows Follow
9. Moth into Flame
10. Inamorata
11. Halo on Fire
12. Too far gone
This
I love Confusion
Playlist time w/ Confusion thrown in. Great list!
4:20 "Counterbalancing the album which is full of key of E"
Inamorata, which is in the key of C# (for the most part at least): _cries in misery_
Ok so I mostly agree with your picks for the 12, with a few differences, but I am thinking order should be totally different. Assuming I take the same 12, I have:
1 Hardwired (that should always lead album)
2 72 Seasons (to be a longer "title song" kind of role)
3 Am I Savage? (fits slow tempo crusher better imho)
4. Halo On Fire (the four-slot ballad)
5 Room of Mirrors (ever notice whenever after the four-slot ballad there is always a fast and short track)
6 Lux Aeterna (great way to end half of double album)
7 Moth Into Flame (great way to start half of double album)
8 Dream No More (this kind of just alternating tempo in eight to ten slots)
9 Too Far Gone? (faster punchier song)
10 Shadows Follow (process of elimination)
11 Inamorata (is not instrumental but fills the role of one with atmospheric feeling)
12 Spit Out The Bone (that should always end album, and makes more sense to put fast end thrasher after "instrumental" like the classic albums)
how about this
1. Hardwired
2. 72 Seasons
3. Chasing Light
4. Halo on Fire
5. Spit Out The Bone
6. Too Far Gone
7. Lords of Summer
8. Shadows Follow
9. Moth into Flame
10. Lux Aeterna
11. Inamorata
12. Room of Mirrors
fifth song imo should have material like disposable heroes, the shortest straw, and all nightmare long. So i put spit out the bone to match the format classic album.
I had the exact same thought. My first draft of the track list would be:
1. Hardwired
2. 72 Seasons
3. Now That We're Dead
4. Halo On Fire
5. Lux Aeterna
6. Compressed Atlas, Rise! (shorten intro)
7. Compressed version of Confusion (without the Am I Evil rip-off intro) that includes the intro and melodic bridge from ManUNkind
8. Too Far Gone?
9. Room of Mirrors
10. Moth Into Flame
11. Inamorata
12. Spit Out the Bone
I like it!! Good job 👏🏽 😎🙏
Dream No More is the best track on Hardwired!
*THE HARDWIRED 72 SEASONS*
1. Hardwired (It still kicks ass today)
2. Moth Into Flame (It's a great single)
3. Dream No More (Cthulhu! And I prefer it than You Must Burn!)
4. Halo on Fire (The missing ballad type song. Not one of my favourites, but hey...)
5. Am I Savage? (That riff!)
6. Spit Out the Bone (Best song on Hardwired, what can I say?)
Flip vinyl
7. 72 Seasons (It's just one of the stronger songs on the album)
8. Screaming Suicide (It kicks ass, it sounds like classic NWOBHM, the verse vocals are cool, and it's like a better Atlas Rise!)
9. Lux Æterna (It's on the level of Spit Out the Bone. Definitely the best song on the album)
10. Too Far Gone? (Probably the only decent Kirk guitar solo on the album)
11. Room of Mirrors (This is definitely one of the standout tracks and the most hardcore)
12. Inamorata (It's one of the most interesting songs Metallica has written)
My track list is almost the same as Andriy's. Shadows Follow is too generic, regular to me and it remind of Better Than You. It has not grown on me and that Batman riff at the end is ridiculous. Bonus tracks or b-sides: ManUNkind, Murder One, Sleepwalk My Life Away, You Must Burn!
You should compile a playlist for the remaining tracks and call it Beyond the Seasons or something!
I was thinking something along the lines of..
Main album: 72 Seasons.. of Self Destruction
B-side album: Re-Wired
Its fun to create these hypothetical albums, but it's just like with "OverLoad", no one can agree on the same list of best songs. One person's filler is another's favorite!
The theme is already different. To me only halo on fire fits with 72 seasons.. because it deals with darkness and ..maybe dream no more also fit a bit
@@williampeetal7388 Yeah, Halo would fit nicely with 72 Seasons material. On flip side, no matter how good Spit Out the Bone is, it would be so out of place thematically.
Songs with introspective or personal lyrics like on Load and St Anger could have interesting chemistry with 72 Seasons. Until it Sleeps, Bleeding Me, Fixxxer, Unnamed Feeling, and Invisible Kid all come to mind. Though musically, I'd imagine they'd sound quite different. Lol
@@shadowledastray yes.. i agree with you. 72 seasons theme is more personal compared with hardwired.
made this into a playlist and listened all weekend, was very happy with the blend between the two, thanks!
I would definitely put sleepwalk my life away .one of my favourites from 72 seasons
Nice job breaking this down us. Thank you.
I might replace Am I Savage? with Lords of Summer from the Hardwired deluxe edition, but otherwise I totally agree with what you picked.
I love how much thought and reasoning you put into these experiments, Frrriend. The end result sounds pretty well too! With the exception of Dream no more (which felt like a drag to me), everything You chose work out pretty well to My hears. Hard choices had to be Made.
Shadows Follow is my favorite from 72 seasons and I noticed a lot of people feel the same
The darkest songs are Crown of Barbed Wire and Dream No More. The thrashiest are Spit Out the Bone and If Darkness Had a Son. Confusion and Screaming Suicide are sister songs. Inamorata and Halo on Fire pair nicely. And Shadows Follow, Here Comes Revenge, Sleepwalk My Life Away and Now That We're Dead round it out.
Episode 769 of andriy vasilenko defending Am I Savage (specially the breakdown) with all his force and might.
I fucking love making these lists and I’ve been making them all week. I’ve done this activity but using Death Magnetic, Beyond Magnetic, HardwiredTSD, and 72 Seasons to make up the songs and come in under 80 minutes. So much fun and challenging. Here is that list:
That Was Just Your Life
Shadows Follow
Now That We’re Dead
The Unforgiven III
All Nightmare Long
Just a Bullet Away
Moth Into Flame
Chasing Light
Too Far Gone?
Am I Savage?
Room of Mirrors
Spit Out The Bone
I also enjoyed this exercise: create an album under 80 minutes with every track # in your list being the same track # from the album it came from. For example, if you include Motorbreath in your list it HAS to be track 3 which means you can’t have any other track 3 from any album. It gets pretty fun and challenging! I allow the 2nd disc of Hardwired to be considered tracks 1-6 OR 7-12. Here is that list for me:
Blackened
Sad But True
For Whom The Bell Tolls
The Unforgiven II
Disposable Heroes
Harvester of Sorrow
Bleeding Me
The Call of Ktulu
The Unnamed Feeling
The God That Failed
My Friend of Misery
Spit Out The Bone
Fixxxer
The Outlaw Torn
"Halo on Fire" deserves the number 4 spot and I will also switch place for the last two, the second to last is the longest "istrumental-like" (and in this case also connected to "Misery") and then at last the super-fast thrasher (like on "Master", "Justice" , "Metallica" and "Magnetic").
Yeah I guess its the first time they've had two albums that sound the same that aren't Load/Reload. Especially since they're years apart like you said and not written during the same sessions like L/RL. Well have to see if they do the same for future album (if there is/are any). I don't mind though. I'm glad they've seem to found a sound, both studio and live that works for them and sounds great and modern. Though I could see why some might not like it. Some songs sound better with old school production imo, like Lux Aeterna perhaps--something about that StateofMercury remake really gave me insight into the song on a deeper level to get into that I didn't quite get with the actual one, despite or because the pristine production.
As for album title I think I'll go with Inheritance: Lux Aeterna or something like that. Two titles that both ended up being unused. Really like the Inheritance one though, wish they'd used it. Perhaps I like it better than the longer HTSD title but who knows? I like one word titles, especially to be able to sum up a theme in one word. Hard but effective. Think of album titles by Dark Tranquillity or Erra for example, among others I'm sure.
Edit: Also still hoping for a making of, always fascinating to see their process in action whether I like a song as much or not \m/
72 Wires (82 minutes):
Disc 1:
1. 72 seasons
2. Atlas Rise
3. Dream no more
4. Halo on fire
5. Room of mirrors
6. Inamorata
Disc 2:
1. Moth into flame
2. Shadow follow
3. Crown of barbed wire
4. Here comes revenge
5. Too far gone
6. Spit out the bone
Man, you missed Lords of Summer. It is technically a bonus song of Hardwired, but it is still better than most Hardwired songs easily.
I liked your selection, just "Am I Savage" made me react like "wtf?". The only changes I would make in tracklist would be making Halo on Fire the fourth track (the most ballad-like track), and Spit Out the Bone the closer track (Metallica albums should always end with a fast paced thrash "in your face" song imo).
You’re right, Lords could have made the list, more so the older version, because the original version of the harmony was way better
I'd follow along with the "72 Seasons... to Self Destruct" title (it's really good!):
1. Lux Aeterna
2. 72 Seasons
3. Hardwired
4. Shadows Follow
5. You Must Burn!
6. Spit Out the Bone
7. Room of Mirrors
8. Am I Savage?
9. Moth Into Flame
10. Inamorata
11. Halo on Fire
12. Chasing Light
To be honest, the only ones I'd leave out are (don't attack me for this lmao)
- Sleepwalk My Life Away (chorus is catchy, but, imo, that's about it)
- Crown of Barbed Wire (not a fan of the lyrics, it doesn't feel like James' writing it)
- ManUNkind (I like the intro, and the middle section, but the rest doesn't justify a spot)
- Here Comes Revenge (Main Riff is a killer riff, but the 'Thorn Within' verse vibes and the 4-BAR LONG SNARE FILL kills the song)
The other ones not on the list aren't bad songs, just not my favorite. To be fair, in a week, a month, even a year, other songs might swap in and out.
Disc 1:
1. Lux Æterna
2. Atlas, Rise!
3. Screaming Suicide
4. Moth Into Flame
5. Halo On Fire
6. Crown of Barbed Wire (Great Riff)
Disc 2:
7. 72 Seasons
8. Chasing Light
9. Too Far Gone?
10. Room of Mirrors (My Fav from 72S)
11. Inamorata
12. Spit Out the Bone (My Fav from HWTSD)
After you mentioned that they both sound similar I did the same thing! My list is as follows
Hardwired...To Self-Destruct
72 Seasons
Shadows Follow
Lux Æterna
Atlas, Rise!
Lords Of Summer
Moth Into Flame
Screaming Suicide
Room Of Mirrors
Spit Out The Bone
Am I Savage?
Inamorata
Bonus tracks/EP:
To Far Gone?
If Darkness Had A Son
You Must Burn!
Murder One
Halo On Fire
It could´ve been really good
1. Hardwired
2. Lux Æterna
3. Now That We´re Dead
4. 72 Seasons
5. Moth Into Flame
6. Shadows Follow
7. Atlas, Rise!
8. Room of Mirrors
9. Halo on Fire
10. Chasing Light
11. Spit Out The Bone
12. Inamorata
The next ones might be Here Comes Revenge and Screaming Suicide. And just for fun, the load/reload mix that resoults in a long and groovy album. (don’t mind the order)
1. Fuel
2. Ain´t My Bitch
3. The Memory Remains
4. Hero of the Day
5. Devil´s Dance
6. Until it Sleeps
7. The Unforgiven II
8. King Nothing
9. Low Man´s Lyric
10. Bleeding Me
11. Fixxxer
12. Cure
13. Mamma Said
14. The Outlaw Torn
I guess your tracklist wouldn't suck
My tracklist:
1. Lords Of Summer
2. Atlas Rise!
3. Screaming Suicide
4. Here Comes Revenge
5. Chasing Light
6. If Darkness Had A Son
7. Halo On Fire
8. 72 Seasons
9. Shadows Follow
10. ManUNkind
11. Too Far Gone?
12. Confusion
13. Spit Out The Bone
14. Inamorata
Run-time 1 h 38 minutes. I wouldn't care about the run-time as the album wouldn't feel as long 😄 Lords Of Summer could be solid opener as James sings "The lords of summer have retuuuurned!" 😂 I personally love songs like Confusion, ManUNkind, Chasing Light...
Songs that I feel bad to leave out 😢:
Crown Of Barbed Wire
Sleepwalk My Life Away
Moth Into Flame
Now That We Are Dead
FINALLY SOMEONE IN THE COMMENTS DOES manUNkind
1. 72 Seasons
2. Shadows Follow
3. Dream No More
4. Halo On Fire
5. You Must Burn!
6. Moth Into Flame
7. Lux Æterna
8. Here Comes Revenge
9. Too Far Gone?
10. Am I Savage?
11. Inamorata
12. Spit Out The Bone
the only thing that sucks is the two question marks in a row
01- Hardwired
02- Atlas, Rise!
03- Chasing Light
04- Halo On Fire
05- Lux Æterna
06- Too Far Gone?
07- Moth Into Flame
08- Room Of Mirrors
09- Inamorata
10- Screaming Suicide
11- 72 Seasons
12- Spit Out The Bone
People always used to say "put DM and HTSD together and you have a great record". That doesn't make sense. They're very different records, and the production basically makes them night and day. Putting HTSD and 72S together makes more sense.
Here's MY track-list:
1. Hardwired
2. Halo On Fire
3. 72 Seasons
4. Atlas, Rise!
5. You Must Burn!
6. Lux Aeterna
7. Moth Into Flame
8. Room Of Mirrors
9. Dream No More
10. Shadows Follow
11. Spit Out The Bone
12. Inamorata
Super solid tracklist, frrriend!
I'm not the biggest fan of Shadows Follow, so I'd put "Atlas, Rise!" on it instead, otherwise great setlist!
I completely agree with your tracklist, except that I'd put Atlas Rise in place of Am I Savage. From my point of view, one epic riff isn't enough to make a song and I find Atlas more solid and diverse. Great idea nonetheless!
The only songs that i think could be removed is ManUnkind, and MurderOne. Double disk the rest in a mixed track list and you have an absolute killer album that follows Death Magnetic!
Its really cool to read the comments...how people are digging totaly different songs from 72s....all songs are there....perfect album...
Chasing Light is my fav from 72 seasons
Great selections and I mostly agree, just I'm not a big fan of Hardwired. Maybe Shadows Follow could be the album title and opening track??
I would appreciate something shorter, like 10 songs 😅
Title: Atlas, Rise!
Tracklist:
1. Lux Aeterna
2. Atlas, Rise!
3. Crown of Barbed Wire
4. Halo on Fire
5. Moth Into the Flame
6. Chasing Light
7. If Darkness Had a Son
8. Too Far Gone?
9. Room of Mirrors
10. Inamorata
Atlas Rise!, Here Comes Revenge, If Darkness Had A Son, and Screaming Suicide should replace Room Of Mirrors, Dream No More, Shadows Follow and Am I Savage. You would have yourself a super album if that was the case.
Does anybody have the link to the load and reload video? I cant find it anywhere
My tracklist:
1. Hardwired
2. Lords of Summer
3. Dream No More
4. Halo On Fire
5. Lux Aeterna
6. Moth Into Flame
7. Sleepwalk My Life Away
8. Crown of Barbed Wire
9. Shadows Follow
10. Am I Savage?
11. Spit Out The Bone
12. Inamorata
I would only change “Am I Savage?” and “Shadows Follow” for “Here Comes Revenge” and “Crown of Barbed Wire”. The other 10 songs remain the same.
“Seasons to Self- Destruct”. 🤘
I actually made a Spotify playlist with the same idea about a week ago - "72 Seasons ... To Self-Destruct". It's 80% the same, with the exception of "72 Seasons" and "Am I Savage?". Here's the tracklist, it's 73 minutes:
1. Hardwired
2. Screaming Suicide
3. Dream No More
4. Shadows Follow
5. Too Far Gone?
6. Halo On Fire
7. Lux Aeterna
8. Moth Into Flame
9. Atlas, Rise!
10. Room of Mirrors
11. Spit out the Bone
12. Inamorata
My list
1.Halo on fire
2.Inamorata
3.spit out the bone
4.Hardwired
5.chasing light
6.room of mirrors
7.too far gone
8.Am I savage?
9.Crown of Barbed Wire
10. If darkness had a son
11.moth into flame
12.Atlas rise!
I dont get the savage hate for Am I Savage. The groove carrying the verses along is a real highlight, and that heavy breakdown riff is brilliant. Yes, like Here Comes Revenge before it, there needs to be a bit of editing to harness it down into a more tightly toned tune, but overall I think Am I Savage is a damn good "midway through side 2" song on Hardwired. If you omit ManUnkind and Murder One, give Savage and Revenge a lil' Nip/Tuck, you'd have a great 10 song album.
Just noticed that both Am I Savage? and Too Far Gone? is the 10th track and have question marks. Coolio.
Here's my take on this challenge
1. Hardwired
2. Atlas Rise
3. Shadows Follow
4. Moth Into Flame
5. You Must Burn
6. Halo on Fire
7. 72 Seasons
8. Lux Æterna
9. Now That We're Dead
10. Room of Mirrors
11. Inamorata
12. Spit Out the Bone
This hits all the high points for me.
Would swap out 72 Seasons for the original Lords of Summer possibly.
Here's a challenge for you: Make a 10 track album with the best songs from St. Anger, Death Magnetic, Hardwired and 72 seasons. Each album must have two songs at the very least.
Hell, I couldn't even make a 10 track album of the best St Anger songs, and St Anger only has 11 songs..
I would have to choose between Frantic, Some Kind Of Monster, Unnamed Feeling, and All Within My Hands
All 10 from death magnetic
@guilhermeneis9182 That's not what I indicated. Each album must have at least two songs represented from it. So it can be something like 2 st anger, 4 death Magnetic, 2 hardwired, 2 72 seasons. Or 2, 3, 3, 2 etc.
So for me it is:
1. That was just your life
2. Atlas Rise
3. Some kind of monster
4. Inamo... j/k. The Day that never comes
5. Hardwired to self destruct
6. St. Anger
7. Lux Æterna
8. End of the Line
9. 72 Seasons.
10. Inamo... j/k. Unforgiven 3.
@@jeffsadowski9244 no need to make a track album if death magnetic alone can destroy st anger, hardwired, and 72 seasons.
I think a much more fair thing to do is to combine 72 Seasons and Hardwired with Death Magnetic. Here’s my list:
1. That Was Just Your Life
2. Spit Out The Bone
3. You Must Burn!
4. The Day That Never Comes
5. All Nightmare Long
6. Atlas, Rise!
7. Lux Æterna
8. The Unforgiven III
9. Room of Mirrors
10. Moth into Flame
11. Too Far Gone?
12. Halo On Fire
13. Suic*de & Redemption
14. Inamorata
Everyone seems to be making fun of my favorite glam rockers Steel Panther ...
But the good thing is that they don't give a shit about what Metallica or any other thrash metal bands do ...
Because they are kings of the genre in their own right ...
Good list, but I really miss Chasing light, the main riff is one of my favourites of the 2 album. I would have choose it instead of dream no more or Am I savage.
-Disc 1
Hardwired
Moth Into Flame
Now That We're Dead
Halo on Fire
You Must Burn
Lords of Summer (closer)
-Disc 2
Too Far Gone
Dream No More
Atlas Rise
Room of Mirrors
Inamorata
Spit Out The Bone (closer)
Thats how I would put them personally even though its an 8-4 ratio, I prefer more songs on Hardwired than 72 Seasons but the songs I did choose from it slap pretty hard
I've noticed with Hardwired, I overall preferred the first half of the album where as in 72 Seasons I overall prefer the second half, so I could do halves, but it's still hard to choose, haha. Also, 72 Seasons is really growing on me, I'm liking it more and more after each listen!
Felt the exact same way!
Yeah. That’s pretty much the track list I’d make. You Must Burn! isn’t as everyone thinks it is.
I think it’d be a better proposal than the final 72 seasons
Interested to know everyone’s view on this; should Metallica have hired a different producer for each of their albums, to give them a different distinct sound? As Greg Fidelman produced the last 3 albums, is 72 Seasons Death Magnetic Vol.3? 🤔🤘
I'd choose maybe two or three songs differently from Andriy's, but it's too soon for me to define what those songs will be different.
Anyway, I have a different set list, and at least for the moment I'd choose Lords of Summer instead of Am I Savage?. It'd be a double album rather than a single one, and I'd choose the title of the latest, 72 Seasons. Here's the setlist:
1. Hardwired
2. 72 Seasons
3. Dream No More
4. Halo on Fire
5. Too Far Gone?
6. Moth Into Flame
7. Shadows Follow
8. Lux Æterna
9. Lords of Summer
10. Room of Mirrors
11. Spit Out the Bone
12. Inamorata
Hardwired would be the opener, of course. Then, 72 Seasons would be the title track, and it would serve as a reference to the 80's: title track after the first song (Master and Justice). Dream No More would serve as the "The Thing That Should Not Be" of the album, a slow, super heavy and groovy song, both having Cthulhu as the theme. Halo on Fire it's the closest thing to a classic ballad because of the soft verse, heavy chorus and "epic" outro, so that would be the 4th song on the album. The best closer to the first side would be Moth Into Flame with that harmonized outro. The second side it's just an almost random order, except of Inamorata. That one it's the obvious choice to be the closing song of the second side and the whole album.
Metallica Death Isn't The End
Track Listing Side One
Armageddon (my apocalypse)
Death Isn't
The End
Atlas, Rise!
The Unforgiven III
Side Two
Moth into Flame
The Judas Kiss
Suicide & Forgiveness (Instrumental)
That Your Life
Track length: 58:58
Hardwired, atlas rise, Moth into flame, Spit out the bone, 72 season, lux æterna chasing light, room of mirror ,Dream no more Edit version of if darkness had a son , to far gone, imorata
Yeah, it would be pretty much this
72 self destructions:
1. Hardwire
2. 72 seasons
3. Moth into Flame
4. If Darkness had a son
5. Dream no more
6. Lux æterna
7. Here comes the revenge
8. Crown of barbed wire
9. Murder one
10. Inamorata
11. Spit out the bone
12. Screaming suicide
Mine would be
Hardwired
72 seasons
Atlas Rise
Shadows follow
Now that we’re dead
Screaming Suicide
Moth into flame
Sleeping my life away
Lux eterna
Room of mirrors
Here comes revenge
Spit out the bone
Conclusion: everyone has their own favourites and every single "Frankenstein" album would be unique. Thank god for playlists
the song's actually called "sleepwalk my life away" not "sleeping"
I feel like your voice is a little deeper than normal...
Great tracklist! 👌🏻I would love this album! Sadly both albums are a little boring for me (except the mentioned tracks on your new list of course.)
Maybe I'd put Atlas,Rise! on "your new album" too :)
Hardwired for Seasons, 72 Self-Destructing Seasons, Seasons of Hardwired, Hardwired Seasons.
I did the same thing but I included Death Magnetic 😎
Mine would be something like:
01. 72 Seasons
02. Atlas, Rise!
03. Screaming Suicide
04. Dream No More
05. Too Far Gone
06. Halo On Fire
07. Lux AEterna
08. Crown Of Barbed Wire
09. Moth Into Flame
10. If Darkness Had A Son
11. Spit Out The Bone
12. Inamorata
Not 100% on the order
Hardwired: It's the title track but the chorus has always been cringey to me
Dead: Ok, but a bit boring
Confusion: Always liked this one. Could be a bonus song
Lords Of Summer: Same as Confusion
Shadows Follow: Something is missing from the song to me but idk what
Chasing Light: Probably my favorite 72 Seasons song not in my list
🤘💀🤘
I think You Must Burn! have more memorable riffs or sections than Dream No More.
My list:
Hardwired
Moth into Flame
Shadows Follow
You Must Burn!
Lux Aeterna
Lords of the Summer
Atlas Rise!
Too Far Gone?
Room of Mirrors
Dream No More
Spit Out The Bone
Inamorata
No ballads
Seasons to Self-Destruct sounds like a badass title😂
I agree with everything except for Am I Savage. I’ll replace that with Atlas Rise personally
"72 Seasons of Self Destruction"
Lux Æterna
Moth Into Flame
If Darkness Had a Son
Halo On Fire
Hardwired
72 Seasons
Now That We're Dead
Room of Mirrors
Here Comes Revenge
Shadows Follow
Spit Out the Bone
Inamorata
72 Seasons is a more consistent album. There is more variety in Hardwired. Some are better songs on Hardwired like Atlas, Rise!, Moth Into Flame and Spit Out the Bone. But there are some duds there and basic stuff too. I find myself playing 72 Seasons all the way through.
I think they’re fine the way they were, same with Load and Reload. But to each their own. Cool experiment anyway.
Metallica 72 Seasons
Track Listing Side One
Lux Æterna
72 Seasons
You Must Burn!
Room of Mirrors
Sleepwalk My
Life Away
Side Two
Screaming Suicide
Too Far Gone?
Shadows Follow
Chasing Light
Inamorata
Track length: 46 minutes 32 seconds
Sleepwalk, not sleeping
Very good I agree with most of the tracks except Am I Savage yes that break down riff is very cool but the rest of song is just meh I would replace it with Crown of Barbed Wire it is a much better song the second best on 72 Seasons in my opinion
Well...there is always a certain level of subjectivity...for me 72 seasons is superior than Hardwired...Not a big fan of Screaming suicide, Sleepwalk my life away and Crown of Barbed wire...all the rest is pretty good for me. In Hardwired, the entire second disc is a healthy efort to do "something different" but didn't work for me. (Except Spit out the bone, obviously) This one has some Heavy Stuff, some more Hard Rock and even some Punk...Besides how heavy or not heavy the songs might be, if the MUSIC is good for my taste that's the priority. It's not masterpiece but surprisingly good record.
Take the best songs on each of the two. You end up with an awesome album.
I'll name it: 72 Seasons To Self Destruct
72 Wires🤘
I still think "72 Seasons" is a bit better album than "Hardwired... to Self-Destruct"
Mixing is supery for sure. Bass sits way better on Seasons
@@AndriyVasylenko yes
I would have choose the same songs!!! Not sure for Room of mirrors...too fresh for my ears...the same fucking songs!
You shouldn't have to mix them to make a great album tho that's the problem. There's a small handful of good tracks on each the rest is just filler
For me You Must Burn! should be there as a groover for 72 seasons. That main riff is absolutely badass, and I really really dig the chorus guitar riff. Also you cannot reject Rob vocals just like that
its so heavy
Loved that middle section of You Must Burn. The deep Sabbath-esq riff, trippy voices singing in unison, and the Load-esq bluesy guitar riff... that whole section was incredible.
I just don't think You Must Burn offers anything other than the intro being heavy. It's chorus is unremarkable and the song lacks payoff.
yeah i just wish it wasnt 7min 😭
@Tenzen Nicholas if you can't handle 7 minutes of Metallica, you'll never handle 2 minutes with a woman.
72 Seasons is a great album. Hetfield sounds killer! Hardwired is good as well.
IMO the fact that there are so many different song picks in the comments section shows that both albums and the songs are actually great
Thank you. There is no way to combine these two album into one without people getting upset. It's like with Load and Reload, everyone says they should be combined into one perfect album, but no one can agree on what songs to include. One man's filler is another man's favorite!
Really solid tracklist! I’d only make two swaps: Atlas for Am I Savage, and Crown of Barbed Wire for Shadows Follow. I think those swaps would keep the overall vibe of the album the same, and I just prefer those two songs to the ones you picked. Definitely going to make a playlist and play around with the arrangement
Edit: I’m actually really fond of Screaming Suicide. I really enjoy all the parts besides the solos (that second one is just 🤦♂️). I’d probably try to find a place for it here
Absolutely same!
I appreciate the love for Am I Savage, it's underrated in my opinion, and along with the breakdown, the main riff has such a sweet groove and it's very unique for Metallica
It's pretty much the best song for Hardwired, or Top 3
yes! I love am I savage. such a great song
@@tim6310 I don't think it's the best but it is certainly very good I've seen guys talk about it as if it is a throwaway song I'm like WWWHHAAATT??? lol
@@midnight347 Yeah, its weird how much time and effort you can put into writing an interesting song, only to have people dismiss it. I've seen people treat 72 Seasons as an entire throwaway album, which blows my mind.
Hell, just saw someone say Metallica hasn't had a "good" album since Master of Puppets. At that point its not even an opinion, it's straight up lying. Haha
@@midnight347 I think what I like about it is that it's like a St. Anger song, but executed better than anything on St. Anger. If every song on St. Anger was executed with the same kind of intensity and aggression as Am I Savage? it would have been a much better record. I actually think St. Anger is kinda cool in it's own fucked up way, but Savage is what St. Anger could have been
Put the best 6 on hardwired and the best 6 on 72 seasons and it’s a border line perfect album. Hardwired, atlas rise, moth into flame, spit out the bone, dream no more and now that were dead. Inamorata, too far gone, room of mirrors, chasing light, 72 seasons and lux
Your theory is right, your picks are wrong 😉
No confusion or halo on fire?
@@bloodlinefilms Exactly. Also no "Sleepwalk My Life Away" or "You Must Burn!".
I can’t just choose 6 off seasons
WAT?!??? no Halo on Fire??????
Bro how you gonna choose Am I Savage? but leave Atlas, Rise! out 💀
I just disagree with your opinion on "You Must Burn!" i think that song is quite good actually and in the 2xalbum i would put that song in for sure, also you could do an 14 or 13 songs album like Load and ReLoad
It would be THE album, trasher songs, heavy ones, uniques riffs and a instrumental (Kinda) mixing inamorata and Savage, with THE new voice of James
Kirk.. well...
@@daniloarias5317 Legend has it, Kirk's solos on 72 Seasons were recorded before any songs were written. Classic Kirk!
Disc 1:
1. Hardwired
2. Shadows Follow
3. Moth into Flame
4. Halo on fire (Track 4 ballad)
5. Lux Aeterna
6. Too far gone?
Disc 2:
7. 72 seasons
8. Room of Mirrors
9. Dream No More
10. Inamorata
11. Am I Savage?
12. Spit out the Bone (closer)
As i think metallica would order them (4 ballad, brutal closer, the notes in between 😂) (2 cd of 6 tracks)
Left out You Must Burn and Crown of Barbed Wire, which are two of my favorite three from 72 Seasons.
Great list, Bro!
@@facelessandnamelesslook at the track list dude. Could you lose any of those songs? I don’t know if I could
