Awesome, actionable episode Greg and Jicecream! Can't wait for part 2: A mix of what tools you are using to build funnels end to end, how you are automating drip campaigns, and copy writing tips geared toward getting people to take action in your funnels 🙌
Hat guy, you're a great teacher of the topic, because you do it outside of teaching, it's pretty much all value and no teaching for teaching sake. Thank you for sharing, whatever you guys do next I'm interested.
Love everything I've seen from you guys having conversations! One thing I'd like to add to the "obnoxiously long video" part of the conversation, I think it's more about the marketing objective (building trust and getting people excited to buy) less about the form of how you make this happen. A SaaS could give you a free trial. A consultant might offer a discovery call. A speaker might give away a book. Hope this brings some value to someone haha Oh one last about about why a lot of copy converts so well. I think there might be 2 factors affecting this: 1.- You address every single desire, need, painpoint, objection, and every other needle moving factors - it's all about giving the visitor what they need to make a decision. 2.- The effort they put into going through the long form content makes them more likely to keep moving forward because they're already quite invested in the adventure haha What other determining factors might be at play here?
Watched the previous show with Jonathon. Actually requested info to work with them to hear more, but a week later no response. Good shows though for sure. Happy I found your show. Shared with a few friends already. Thanks!
Hey Scott, yeah sorry, I did see your message come through. For our Partners business, I personally need to look through every application before we respond (I have teams responding to the other businesses) and the problem is I've been travelling and got covid. Shiiiiiii - I'm back in the office next week and will start responding. Sorry for the tardiness!
Ha, worlds collide. I actually went through one of Jonathan's funnels when I was looking for workshopping training for my business unit. It didn't work out but the person who I had a consultation with was very helpful.
Thanks, I learned more than I ever knew about funnels from Jonathan. I could even create one from this podcast. I will remember to hold a book about what I’m trying to market. Thanks guys.
This is amazing. Thank you for the insight. Understanding the process of making a funnel and measuring the KPIs would have helped me. I would have loved to get insight into the iteration process of building a funnel. How do you know what steps to put in where?
This was SUCH a great episode. Thank you SO much. I received the book Expert Secrets in a class and I need to go back and read it. You explained so much that I needed to understand.
Very valuable video! As someone who does funnels and paid ads for a living, he could certainly squeeze another 20-40% of revenue out of it though. But solid funnel overall
That's the difference between marketing and branding, marketing is for the short term and to sell. But branding is for long term gains and good branding can help with the high ticket marketing
Thank you for posting this. I have been waiting for this episode!! #1, I never leave comments...but I'm just really appreciating this podcast. I typically listen to it then I have come to my computer to watch...like this one! #2. I want to know what kind of view JICE has from his office; looks amazing...#3 I love when he's explaining something but then an additional thought enters his head and we're taken down a different road...all the while never completing the first sentiment. I'm so there buddy...While frustrating if you are following, I can appreciate the jump/squirrel when the brain is on FIRE>>>>
Thanks Greg. I do watch some of your videos from time to time but noticed in a few occasions that the guest think he is sharing what he is going through but we can’t see. Just a note to remember to check with the guest if they are not on the same screen being shared.
I would like to hear Jonathan going over Facebook Ads Bidding Strategy when it comes to early-stage startups - specifically creatives, bids, copy, placement, etc.
But how do you know nobody’s gonna make $20 million is not necessarily that they might not make it off of this, but it might be for something else sky is the limit
I think it's actually a good thing because it puts more pressure on the creator to deliver. If the creator gets known for not delivering, then they lose credibility organically....
It's so crazy how tailored this is to Americans. An average European would just raise their eyebrows and close that landing page in 3 seconds but very helpful content nonetheless
Don't think that is true. People underestimate how influenceable people are when they want to believe something. Also he is talking about euros and of the in person courses in the video is 13000 euro and takes place in Berlin
This is 100% untrue, im the guy in the video (Jicecream), im Irish and I live in Germany. We're a European company! And yes, a huge amount of our customers are from the EU.
Just went through the video - good stuff (especially for a newbie like me to funnels). So if I understand the funnel system presented: FB/YT Ad → Free workshop → Book a Call → Sale IF there's a part 2, I'd be curious about the "funnel" from a copywriting/email marketing side. I understand campaigns. Like BFCM, Holidays, etc. But what would a email funnel look like or a primarily email-based funnel look like? I ~think~ the simple formula is: Content → Free something → Email Funnel → Sale or Ad → Free → Email Funnel → Sale I'm more on the copywriting side of things for the biz I work with. So trying to figure out how to grab high-intent people into an email funnel that sells.
Death stranding I’m thinking. Ooo I really want to figure out how to get good at funnels so I can afford to take some time away to play the second one!! Loooooved the first one. What a vibe. Beautiful.
Hmmm, good video but definitely need a more broad assessment of the topic, like when you asked how a landing page could work outside of his current business, the answers were pretty vague, like as a web designer, I don't even know if a video would be the way to go.
In PUA terms, a funnel is the equivalent of an opener. Ugly funnels work better because the recipients of these micro-campaigns are novice entrepreneurs and perfectionism would only turn them off.
Jonathan Courtney explains how to build effective sales funnels, contrasting them with websites. He covers funnel structures, the power of long-form content, retargeting, and the importance of compelling copy. Courtney shares examples from his own business and discusses strategies for various industries.
Hey Greg, I'm a long-time follower and listener to the podcast. This is the first time to have commented. Thanks for this episode. I am home sick today and decided to brush up on some ideation while I heal my body. I do have two quick questions. Since this approach to funnels works well for services and training, do you think it could be applied to a Podcast environment.? I have a hyper-local podcast that I am trying to develop more traction with, and I thought about creating some funnels for the specific areas of focus around my podcast to reach local businesses that want to either feature their company on the podcast for a fee or utilize some of our other hyper-local products like our job board or business directory. Any direction or thoughts about how to apply the lessons from this video in that vertical, or have you seen any funnels work for media verticals like a podcast? Thanks again.
I had to think and think and think… I knew that hat was from somewhere deep in my memory bank… damn Sam Porter the legend??? If that’s what you mean then dammit Jicecream, you too are officially the homie! 🐐💯

That weird finger thing is so meta and played out, your content and ideas are above that, you’re going to say that others do it, but so what you aren’t them? You’re Greg isenberg how about switch it up?
YOU ASKED FOR IT. ITS JICECREAM SHARING HOW HE BUILDS FUNNELS. LIKE/COMMENT/SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE OF THIS IN YOUR FEED AND SO WE KEEP DOING VIDEOS
THANK YOU @JICECREAM!
Greg, this is your best video yet. Not even close. Don’t care what anyone else think… they will eventually learn.
Your explanation of the difference between a website and a funnel is really helpful. Thank you!
Uh-oh... Greg broke character today! Dropped his signature deadpan and cranked the enthusiasm up two whole octaves! Absolutely BRILLIANT guys!

amazing info and guidance on producing effective funnels! Thank you so much for posting this valuable content.

I want part two to be live building a new funnel from scratch. 🥰
Me too
I shared it with my close peeps, so you get the idea how valuable this Pod was.
Thank you Greg❤
Landed just as i was searching about this very topic! Talk about perfect timing!
good timing!
@@GregIsenberg Thanks again for this video, learnt so much!
We need a combo episode of marketing local service businesses with Cody & the actual landing page with Jicecream

This is amazing and I just got started on my next funnel! Thank you so much!! 🤩
Love the video's but am starting to hate the million dollar fixed headlines. No one watching is going to make 20 million, let's get real.

Incredible insights. I absolutely loved every minute of it...

Love this Greg. This what so good!! This will help my family business immensely

Great pod, guys! It'd be funny to see a fictional funnel for the Bridges Logistics Company (hat reference) :)
I literally started creating a funnel in clickfunnels before the pod had ended! Epic interview, really really valuable.
