The fans want to see good hard football the way it used to be played a decade or so ago. Now, the powers to be want someone who's preferably white, blonde and attractive doing sideline color analysis. Fox, NBC, and CBS, still have men doing analysis on Sunday, Monday and Thursday, but they may go the way of ESPN -an organization I no longer admire with their PC stance on various things. ESPN has become, in part, like what is featured in a commercial where a family drives to a football field and the wife starts extolling her two boys to play hard with aggressive gestures and the husband passively asks "What are you doing?" - The wife says very aggressively smacks the husband on the butt and says, "I'm building champions." Let the men be men and the women be women. To me, there is nothing more desirable than the female that is ALL WOMAN, but sometimes it's boys night out, too. When people want to watch football, they do not want to see political protests, and other distracting displays on the field. They want to see men taking the field and fighting hard with their talents to levels that the average person cannot achieve. It's a spectators sport that both men and women can enjoy in mixed company or just guys or just women, or whatever the gathering may be. They want to see clean-cut men who look like men without the long hair covering their name. It has nothing to do with race, but decorum. Richard Sherman, a black, and Clay Matthews, a white, Polamalu, a Samoan, and others should or should have been told told by the NFL commissioner that long loose hair would not or will not be allowed on the field of play (I like all three, by the way). Some players feel that they can look any way they want in the fact they are earning big bucks, and while that may be true, a bum look is the same if you are making a million, a billion a trillion dollars a year. A bum look is a bum look, is a bum look. (those long dreads are wig extensions anyway and not part of the uniform so an inadvertent tackling by the fake dread hair could be dangerous and or embarrassing, let alone most of it looks dusty and dingy anyway). Your Peyton Manning, your Russell Wilson, your Lynn Swann, your Drew Brees- types are the kind of players people want to see play on the field. And that list of decent, great players goes on and on, believe me. What people do not want to see are a group of players that look and act like thugs and reprobates taking the field. One real nice guy with Dreads is Larry Fitzgerald and he is in that class of players as Manning, Swann, Wilson, and Brees, but Larry, tuck the hair.
