Hey Don how about one of those flexible tube framed fully enclosed tarp garages. My neighbor has about 6 of them loaded with classic cars .The ones he has says last for years from UV exposure & havent blown away yet under $1000 dollars just a thought......
Hey Glenn! I'm looking at all options right now. Just need dry save long term storage till.i can work my way back to the other cars. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Good to hear your voice again and see your videos of the cars. Now the weather is getting better, and this weekend will be daylight saving, so you will have more daylight to get things done.. Too bad you couldn't find a garage where you can store the cars but sometimes you have to just let them go.
Man Don! That '56 sits perfect! I love the colors, the stance and the Cragars! I like '55's with '57's being a second favorite but, if I got a Nomad, it would definitely be a '56! Good to see the 'vert is back inside too! The moisture damage might be 2 steps backwards but, I am sure you will take 4 steps forward with it now that it's inside and get the moisture damage cleaned up! I am glad you drove the gasser too, that one is a favorite because I can picture you taking that one down the dragstrip at the Tri Five Nats and getting hooked with it as a cool drag car for you when you retire! I have an amazing carb guy who only does tri five WCFB's. He takes all of the old, janky parts off and puts them back to factory original with all of the correct parts. He is good friends with Chuck Smith who has been the guru for these carbs but, Chuck is not doing well and no longer does carbs. My guy is really good with the 270 horse dual quads too. Let me know if you want to send him 1 of your carbs to go through and check his work. He is a perfectionist and insists on correct factory parts. I am maxed out with car space at my house too. It has certainly been tough! I know some time ago, I had a neighbor at the end of my street that I paid $60 a month to store my car trailer behind their gate in a space they never used. The trailer was close by, always accessible and cheap to store. Maybe there is an elderly neighbor who doesn't use garage space and would welcome some extra income to store one of your hot rods. Best wishes on whatever you decide to do and take care Don!
Good choices on the ones you moved around to keep, they would have been mine too. The climate here can take them from show quality to driver quality in just a couple of years , it’s a full time job and near impossible to keep them fresh. One good thing is your garage is still full of great cars that will make great memories. Thanks for sharing. Shawn RR
I got a spot for the 57 Nomad! I mean, no motor, no transmission, you don’t want it to go backward like the convertible! and I have indoor parking! 😂 just trying to help you out buddy…..O-H ! Thanks for the video Don!
Love those Chevy's!!! Your doing a wonderful job at keeping some of those old beauties around. Back when when cars had some real beauty and style and all of them didn't look alike such as now days and made of plastic.
I love that black '56 Nomad. I had a 1956 Chevy sedan back in 1971 when I was 22 years-old. I got into an accident with it that same year, and totaled it. I miss that car. I know how hard it is to give those cars up. I feel for you man.
Don good to hear where you’re heading with trying to find alternatives for your storage for your cars and you’ll figure it out, I have no doubt! But as for what you should do about the rust and corrosion, after you’ve got your engine bay all painted and assembling,,, I got a tip for you, and I know it works!! my friends does it all the time with his plow truck and things been plowing for eight years and you open the hood underneath, and it looks like new yet🤩 he gets silicone spray and does the complete engine compartment, motor wires etc. and whenever he does a good clean wash up on the truck every so often he’ll spray the engine compartment all down again after it’s dry and boom. Just totally unbelievable how clean it is, and he’s out in the salt all the time when he’s plowing.,Try it out you’ve got nothing to lose 🤷🏻♂️
Hey Big Job Ford! Man they sure does sound amazing. The salt really takes it toll on the stuff, that silicone spray sounds like just the ticket. I'll be tracking some down soon. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Hey Big Don, so sorry to hear about you losing your pup man. I know that feeling and it is very hard because they are part of your family. I like what you said about that pup taking a piece of your soul and that is so very true. Best of luck on whatever decision you make on what to do with your cars.
A man never seams to have too much garage space, EVER! There are a huge bunch of out here who wish we had as many tri-5s AND Nomads as you have. Best to you and yours Don. Be safe out there. Butch
Hey Don Cool Find with the carb , yeah a hard decision to figure which goes outside , but I guess the convertible was a must for sure, and been waiting to hear the oh 55 convertible start up 😁. Have a good one Man ✌️
Thanks Lonnie! I got real lucky finding this old carb! I hate to see any out side man we just get rounded with weather and it sure will take it toll. Im trying to find some long term storage till I can get back to the other. I'm really looking forward to getting this convertible driving real soon. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Yeah Don the Rag Top belongs in the garage for sure, sure do like the motor in the Gasser, I’ve been commenting on all the videos are you getting them😮, catch you later buddy😀😀
Hey Mike! I do agree the convertible needs to stay inside and be worked on. Funny when I was driving the camaro I was thinking about driving the 55 Convertible. I'll go back to the other videos and look for your comments. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Don hope you find cover for the 57.im in the family with a 56bellair hardtop. 1 owner car I heard the 4 Dr. Hardtops are rare that's what mine is. All stock regularly maintained hardly any rust. 265 motor.
Hey Daniel! Yes there certainly rare nowadays most did not survive! I've always thought the 4 door hardtop was a stunning car and have often thought of building a 55 Chevy 4 door Hardtop. Sounds like you have a really nice one. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Thanks man! I'm living Vicariously through you and the tri5's! Ready to get some land and a shop soon, I don't know if you might be interested but check out Archbuildings, Again thanks for the update, keep em all clean and warm as you can and get out and enjoy the SS soon!
Hey Don. We got the same problems here in Ca, the cars don’t weather well here. If it isn’t the weather it’s the neighborhood cats lol Have a good one 👍🏻
Thanks Mike! I hate to have any of them outside man they take a beating. I'm trying to find some dry long-term storage till I figure out what's next. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Yea its hard deciding which ones to keep and what needs to go. I'm kinda going thru the same thing. That being said. I am almost ready to get my 1956 Nomad out for the first cruise in 6-7 yrs. Got most of my updates done and hopefully this weekend get to cruise it. Keep moving forward Don and you will more time to work on one project at a time.
Don, I’ve got the most perfect and safest place for your ‘57 Nomad……In my attached and heated two car garage!! I’ll even come get it and bring it to southern Ohio and hide it….(I mean “store it”!!!!!!! 🤔🤔😁😁👍👍
Room is always at a premium. I wish had more space, but then I'd have more cars and still need space. Hard choice for you about which cars belong inside. Cool going over the carbs. I wonder if you could submerge the frozen one in a tub of wD40 for a week if it would free up. Cool update brother
Don I noticed the carb base is rusted pretty good on the 4bbl All you have to do is remove it and blast all the rust away and then clear coat it. Buy a carb rebuild kit and do not clear coat where the gaskets go.
Don life to short to constantly worry about your vehicles I did the same thing recently lost my wife now they don't seem to matter like they used to .have a good one
Been watching some of your videos we got one thing in common is we both have 55 bel air, I'm building a american graffiti replica on my videos. Good job on your tri-5s..
Hey Big Don. Yeah, Mother nature will screw you when you are not looking. That's why I built a bigger shot. I want to keep them dry. Thanks for sharing.🍁🍁👍🐕🦺
Hey Howie! I'll check into that. I had these heads done with hardened seats to run on the new junk fuels. I do some research and see what I can find. Most fuels say they have 10 percent ethanol. I know the accelator pumps need to be specific for that. Have a good one Buddy 👍
If I had a four car garage it probably wouldn't be enough. Luckily I only have a two car garage. I'd would be like you. Not saying it's a bad thing but keeping up with two cars is enough for me. It's terrible what the weather does to your cars. ☹️
I can’t believe you like the halfbreed 56 Chevy that’s the ugliest Chevy ever. I love the 55 and 57 but not the 56 half breed Chevy sorry but the 57 is my number one then the 55. Red Winstead from the dirty south Salito Mississippi. I love the way you have fix the cars up. They don’t have to be a trailer queen you can drive them ❤❤❤❤❤
I've heard that alot from many people. I don't agree and never had. 55 is the best and the other 2 years are not on the same planet. 56 is better looking than 57 in my opinion, but I obviously have all 3 Years for a reason. Later Buddy

You know my fav is the 57 nomad, sad to see it left outside. I wish you weren't so far away, i would let you park it in my garage.
That’s some beautiful scenery as I’ve said before 😆
Thanks Man! It sure does help me unwind in the evening

Crazy what the weather can do...
Hi Richard Ind again!
You ever think just buy a car port to work on your great cars when bad weather comes? Take car my new friend!
I have a old vetted motor sitting in the garage with those and they did the same thing.
Wow that's crazy the aluminum did the same thing inside a garage!
Yea its hard deciding which ones to keep and what needs to go. I'm kinda going thru the same thing. That being said. I am almost ready to get my 1956 Nomad out for the first cruise in 6-7 yrs. maybe if hey ran more often the moisture wouldnt build up so much..??? just the heat of the engine could keep the dew off.

Hey Big Don. Yeah, Mother nature will screw you when you are not looking. That's why I built a bigger shot. I want to keep them dry. Thanks for sharing.🍁🍁👍🐕🦺
Mint awesome and mint
Hey Don , is ethanol free gas available in your area ? Costs a little more , but that’s all I run in my 56.

Fluid Film to protect rust prone fittings and other surfaces?
Thanks I'll check into that.
Their all investments Plus keeping Tri-5'S alive.
Yeah Charlie I love them all.
Really sorry about your pup. You sure do get attached to them. You are almost at full capacity on the cars. Maybe room for one more, lol!
