Good critics can argue on many aspect of their trade. Great critics know how to simply say "it's great" when it is and leave it at that, not going in a monologue every time
A feud I really had trouble understanding. I mean I get the dynamic of food critic vs chef, but the fact Carl didn't understand that Ramsey was his biggest supporter from the get go when you understood the scope of their professional relationship. From Carl going from the new creative kid on the block to stale and unimaginative due to his job restraint's over the years how could Carl NOT see where Ramsey was coming from when he kept serving him the same shit during the early part of the film?? How could he not see that you have a food critic who had built a reputation for years on what YOU were doing??? His lively hood was probably on the line if one of his early guys was flaming out and not trying to be more creative than he was when he first busted out on the scene... I completely got why Ramsey was so critical of Carl, it made perfect sense...
Carl is an arrogant chef. Most chefs are arrogant. Nothing can be wrong with what they cook. If someone says otherwise, the chef is in denial. It doesn’t matter if it’s their menu or not. They touched the food. So the food is good. Worked with many exec chefs with this same thought process. So from our POV. Yes. It’s a bit weird how he could react that way. But from a chefs POV. He got a 2 star rating from a guy who knows nothing about food.
I really think it’s smart writing. Carl knows the menu is dog shit, and he can say it, but someone else saying it still hurts his ego. That on top of knowing he was the exciting new chef on the block, but now is doing derivative French Laundry rip offs culminates in his meltdown. He’s got tunnel vision, he knows he’s good, but no one will give him the opportunity to prove it, so he creates the opportunity for himself. It’s actually a perfect ending because it signifies Carl overcoming his ego, and making the food and the experience more important than dignifying his talent. He lets the food finally speak for him like a chef should.

I wish it was established that maybe Ramsey wasn't one of his backers maybe he was on the fense about him but he was always critical of Carl and even went borderline at times over the years and decades with him, only to be his investor down the road.. Then you would completely understand Carls meltdown because you'd understand that he probably played the high road most of his life and he finally just snapped. It would have been so much more relatable..
I love that Oliver Platt’s character is instantly redeemed but in a way that’s not a cop out. That could just be Platts acting but still. Love this film.
No matter how good you are in the kitchen, if you are not preparing meals you like you are gonna suck. Being in a 5-star restaurant made him miserable and made his life fell apart. Starting over again in some old food truck made him reignite his passion for his craft, he was able to bond with his son, and made him win at life.
The only thing this shows is how truly wothless journalism is in modern society.. yet they're always the fist ones to complain about (insert capitalistic adventure)..

작중에 나오는 요리 장면도 정말 수준급이고 아들과 아빠의 소통을 푸드트럭으로 연결 시킨것과
트위터로 몰락했다가 다시 흥하는걸 신박하게 표현함 나중에 시간나면 꼭 한번보시길
다만, 다이어트 중에는 삼가주시고
하기야 다이어트중에 보면 괴롭겠죠.

중간이랑 끝쯤에 막 큰 위기와서 트럭 망하고 그럴줄 알았는데 그런거없이 평화롭고 순조롭게 계속 흘러가서 너무 좋았음.. 보면 기분좋아지는 영화

꼴릴때 먹고싶은거 종류별로 제조 가능. 아내도 존예. 이혼기간동안 만난 여자는 스칼렛 요한슨. 인생은 이분처럼.
바람핀게 아니라 이혼하고 새로운 짝 찾은거에요.
그러네요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 그래도 개이득인 부분.
