Congrats! I’m still hesitant about running a full marathon in KL. I don’t mind the distance, heat or the humidity, but I do mind the 3:30am start time. It’s so awkward that there is no way I could get good rest the night before, and it could lead to all kinds of issues during the race. I’d rather they start at midnight so I can just sleep in on that day. It also helps to finish the race before sun comes out.
Congrats on your first marathon. 5:30 is great for so much walking - you must have had a really fast start - what were your splits? I know you were 'moving to the side for fresh air' but the course is measured along the road and cutting corners just seems like bad form. Stepping up and down curbsides is also putting extra strain through your quads, breaks your rhythm and puts you at higher risk of rolling your ankle. Also not sure about the closing eyes strategy to conserve energy but I guess it works!
Thank you! You're right, but wasn't my intention to cut corners early on, maintaining momentum was hard with so many people ahead. Here's my official result: Split Time 4km 00:21:48.01 5km 00:27:19.24 8km 00:44:57.48 10km 00:55:05.33 15km 01:23:18.49 17.3km 01:37:03.04 20km 01:57:39.11 25km 02:40:18.96 30km 03:29:46.05 35km 04:20:04.78 40km 05:01:50.59 41.1km 05:13:01.39 41.6km 05:21:13.44
OMG, 42KM run?? 🏃🏻♂️ Honestly, love your videos - always felt so motivated to do something active with my own life too watching you. Keep up with your good work!
Hey, you may refer to official website (www.kl-marathon.com/travel/public-transportation/) for opening time, interval, station, parking info. This year was 3:30am (Saturday) and 1:30am (Sunday), next year might change though.

Congratulations, 👏 well done 👍! I forgot how hot and humid it can be in Malaysia and struggled big time😂
Morning was kinda cool, but yea humidity makes your sweat and drink more frequently 😂
