Norwegian Fjords cruise aboard Sky Princess . Embarkation chaos .

- 11 Months after our first sailing with Sky Princess we were back onboard.This time we were setting sail to the Norwegian Fjords. This was our first visit to the Fjords and we were really looking forward to it.
We had watched many RUclips videos on what to expect . of course we new the scenery was going to be amazing.
It seemed we had packed for every conceivable sort of weather that Norway could throw at us .

Arr, you both had a terrible time boarding the sky. Princess seems to go on forever 😮. I'm not a lover of the sky princess by the look of it, sorry 😢. But enjoy watching you both having fun. Hi Amanda, we found out it was a problem with the previous cruise, it stopped the passengers from disembarking. We actually like Princess cruises 😂, but that wasn’t a great start . We are currently in the port of Bari in southern Italy , and there is a lovely thunderstorm going on 😩. Thanks for watching A&J hope you are both well XX❤️

Great start to this series, absolute bedlam on embarkation. The last time we went from Southampton was on P&O Acadia, and from parking the car to being on the ship, it took 12 minutes. Essex man having a hot rim 😂😂.

Hi Marc , embarkation was chaos, which is unusual for Princess . We do like Princess cruises , a bit more expensive than P&O but the service and food is better. Also the drinks package is pretty good. Rims are much better when they are hot 😂 . 12 minutes how good would that be in September. Thanks for watching these Fjords vlogs , amazing place with stunning scenery even though it rained a lot .👋👍
@pearlandbrianstripsandadve8619 yep, we have done the fjords in summer and winter. Winter was very special but bloody freezing 🥶
The problem with boarding at Southampton, or at pretty much any port, is that people ignore their assigned boarding time and turn up wanting to be the first on board. On our last cruise out of Southampton we changed our early boarding time, because we knew most people can’t follow basic instructions, and switched to one of the later ones, no queues when picking up the medallions, no queue at security and no queues boarding and as soon as we boarded it was announced the cabins were ready to be occupied. Avoid the idiots, board later.
Hi John , I know that happens quite a lot people arriving before their designated time hoping to board early . We arrived right on time , but have heard that there was a problem with passengers disembarking from the previous cruise that added to the problem. I just did the exact same thing on our 7 night cruise to Norway. Left ALL my evening wear in the wardrobe and only realized when we were unpacking onboard!! You’d be surprised how little you can get away with!!! 😅

Hi, Really enjoyed your video, so funny, and looking forward to your video thoughts on the rest of the voyage.
We were also on this cruise and enjoyed our time very much, relaxing and trying new cocktails. We had a few hiccups (!), such as our Plus package disappearing when we boarded but the problems were quickly resolved and they didn't detract from our positive experience.
I thought the crew were very good and enjoyed the Captains long announcements :).
We were told that the embarkation struggle was caused by the late connection of the ship to shore walkway, which delayed all of the previous passengers from disembarking on time, hence the mess, although we only had minor problems and were on the ship in the first group.

Hi Brian & Pearl. Loved your vlog. We too we’re on the cruise and agree it was a very hectic embarkation and we were some of the first on! Southampton port staff need to get their act together. There was no signage to know what queue to get into! I have to say once through departures Princess made it very simple. Loved the sail away. I saw my best friends on you video. I’ll get them to watch & subscribe too xx

Hi! I didn't get to watch yesterday, as it was a granddaughter's 18th birthday. We were blessed with great weather for it. Well, you all had a rough start to this trip. I was a little worried that you were both going to be exhausted before you even got on the ship. It sure is crowded. I'm loving the music on this cruise! I'm old fashioned. Your stateroom is nice, but the balcony is a little small. Hope you both got some sleep after that long day. I love these, and it is good to have you back on. Looking forward to the next one! Hi Rene , So glad you had nice weather for your granddaughters birthday. 18 how lovely, I think I can remember that far back . It was one of our granddaughters 1st birthdays on the 28 th . Yes embarkation was very chaotic the worst we have had but once we got to our room we managed to start relaxing. We hope you didn’t mind us mentioning you towards the end of the video. Someone is having fun...😆 Poor pearl getting the blame for the gimbal spin out..I get mine go crazy at times , they can be tricky...🙃..How is the food, looks good so far ?.. Do you buy drinks as you go or do they do a package ? Keep up the good entertaining and laughs...😆
Please no sympathy for madam, 😂 they are a bit temperamental to be fair . Food has been nice , better quality than P+O . We are on there drinks package , a lot of choice . Thanks as always for your positive comments, and hopefully Pearl will keep you entertained.🤣
We got off Sky the day you got on and we were a little late coming in so we were late disembarking which I think caused some of the problems. I forgot to pack any dark socks for my husband so he had to wear his dinner suit with white sports socks till we reached Cadiz and I managed to buy some dark ones. Looking forward to your other vlogs we did Norway on Sky last year.

Hi jojo , I hope you had a fantastic time on Iona . How nice is the scenery in the Fjords. I think you would have got better views on Iona as there are plenty of windows in the atrium. On Sky it’s much more restricted to see outside if you are sitting in the atrium, lovely ship though. This vlog only covers our embarkation and formal night . Hi Brian. We are going on the Sky in October. With so many people on board, is there many seats around at night time in the different areas or is it a struggle. Great video btw 👍
Hi Alan , great choice Sky Princess is a great ship . We found the atrium quite busy of an evening. Because they put on quite a bit of entertainment in the atrium such as bands and singers it tends to get quite full . On the different floors around the atrium there are different bars such as Good Spirits. It’s small so tends to get busy as well. It seems as though the atrium is the main hub of the ship . Don’t let any of this put you off , you will get a seat but may have to loiter a little bit 😂. There are other venues though , it’s just mainly the atrium of an evening. Have a fantastic time ,I’m sure you will, and thank you very much for watching.🥂👋

We are due on Princess in 3 weeks - did you see any priority boarding lines as we have treated ourselves to suite but i fear priority boarding has gone out the window
@martintravelnjt2721 Hi Martin , thanks for watching. When we reached security we asked do we now have to join this queue ? . One of the staff members said I’m afraid so , then asked if we we’re priority boarding so it must still be operating. Have a fantastic time .

Can I ask where did you park your car?
Hi Evie , thank you very much for watching, and thanks for your question. We use CPC they are the official cruise parking company. I will leave a link at the end . We use them because it is safe secure and right opposite where you board the ship . You drive to the terminal take your luggage, they photograph the car then give you a ticket that you show on return when disembarking. They park the car in a monitored car park right opposite the terminal. Hope this helps

Hi , thank you . We were in the Estrella and the Soleil. We booked for 7.30 each night which we booked at home a few weeks before. We did this on the princess app .Hope this helps , thanks very much for watching.

There was two lines guests with reservations and guests without . We only had to wait 10 minutes at the very most . Sometimes straight in . Have a great time

Hi Josh , it all depends on what you’re looking for , but in our opinion Princess has the better food , better service, and the staff seem a bit friendlier . P&O is definitely better value for money you do pay more on Princess. This is only our opinion, hope it helps. Thanks a lot for watching.

I really don’t know why your whinging so much about the queues on embarkation day! What do you expect with over 3000 people getting on the ship.
We sailed on Sky Princess out of here 3 weeks ago and from arrival to the terminal to getting on the ship we only waited about 15 minutes. Stop whinging.
