El “Puerto de Frutos” y el “Mercado de Frutos” se llaman asi porque hasta mediados del siglo XX llevaban ahi la producción frutal del Delta del Paraná, que se comercializada en la ciudad de Buenos Aires
Welcome back. The Delta of the Parana River is huge and has the particular characteristic that is not in tropical climate like most in the world. This is due to the Parana River going from north to south. The Delta once was a big production area for wood, lumber, fruits, honey. Therefore there was a special port "Puerto de Frutos" (Port for products, not fruits "frutas" in Spanish). Now this port is mainly a shopping mall for artisans and home decor. It's one of the main atractions in Tigre. There are also two nice museums in Tigre. The Museo de Arte Tigre which is housed in a very nice building which once was a social club; and the Museo Naval, a very nice naval museum of the Argentine Navy with models of the history of sailing from the trunk to canoes, to rowing boats til the steamers. It also houses the Lehg II, the boat that Vito Dumas used to make his trip around the world along the Roaring Forties in the forties of last century. He was the first to do such thing with only three stops in all the trip. In your journey in the boat you went to the East where you saw a sand ship (the big red one). This ships bring sand from construction gathered buy a suction mechanism that absorbs the sand from the bottom of the rivers near Uruguay river, because near Tigre the bottom is muddy. That's the reason why all the water is light brown. The Paraná River brings much clay from the northern rivers and gives the characteristic color to the River Plate and much silting. In the main rivers of the Delta each house has a number like any other in a street. Your "main river" as you called when you arrived back to port is the Luján River. It starts further from Luján City, to the West of Buenos Aires city. A very important religious site, with the Virgen de Luján Basilica. It comes towards the Paraná and it's the southern limit of part of the Delta. But by no means is an important river of the Delta. Paraná de las Palmas is six times wider, and Paraná Guazú (Guazú=Big in guaraní language) is eight to ten times. Luján has a depth of 4m (14ft) Paraná Guazú is more that 14m (46ft). Tigre was a vacation center for posh people of Buenos Aires in the twenties and thirties. And previously many inmigrant comunities built their rowing clubs. Tigre Sailing Club (English), Canottieri Italiani (italian, duh), Rudder Verein Teutonia (German). Some of them still have today their social buildings in Tigre, others have moved because the intense traffic of power boats make very difficult to row in those very low and long boats. You can identify the different clubs because each have different colors in the oar blades.
Wow, guys, it's so good to see you so happy, enjoying your stroll and smiling all the time ! Tigre seems like a remarkable place, so neat, colorful, with so many different stalls and crowded with good looking people....and the weather ! just spectacular for a winter day, so sunny and warm. I liked the Argentinian passers by, they all looked so relaxed and happy, sharing a drink or just chatting by the riverside. It all looked as European as it can get ! This particular vid struck me as the best of all your previous ones which were also nice and interesting. Props to your wife who is always so busy looking after her 3 kiddos and yet she is always seen smiling and happy. Stay well.
ESOS CHICOS SON ADORABLES, felicitaciones
@@Economic_Front You can go to the art museum and to that waterfront by crossing the bridge in front of the train station, you don't have to go by boat.

Family!! Great to have you back!! And another great video, too !! Really glad to see you' re enjoying yourselves here. Three little things: 1) the word "Cachetes" is an informal way of saying "cheeks" (the formal word is "mejilla"). 2) the Argentinian word for "straw" is not "popote" (I think that is Mexican) but "pajita" or "sorbete", unless you're talking about the metal straw for drinking "mate" that we call "bombilla". 3) I don't want to scare you but, generally speaking, summers in Buenos Aires ARE hot and humid, so you'd better get used to the idea. Our best wishes for you all, and looking forward to your next video!

What a lovely video, there is so much I love about it. The nature sounds and chirping, the beautiful scenery, the kids smiles and family interaction enjoying meals together, Makes me want to go to tigre on my next trip ( just came back from BA) I was hoping to come across you guys in Palermo to meet your gorgeous family, but I guess next time. 🤗

Hola familia!!!
Hey, I see the Menu of the "Cachete Parador" is bilingual...! Spanish/English ! How cool...it's easy to see they get a lot of foreign customers stopping to get a snack and drink. I just loved this shopping area next to the riverside. It can't get better than that.
My parents grew up on the Delta. I have great memories as a child 8 or 9 years old going back from the United States to visit my grandparents and going fishing for catfish there. Lots of great memories.
I was just thinking about yall :) nice to see you guys. That amusement park is "Parque de la Costa" our own humble little Disney Epcot. The rollercoaster is great, but most of the rest of the games are not that much fun for "grown up" people. But I think the boys will love it because for that age is a fantastic, very fun place. There is a really fun one that is pretty much a bungee jumping. I recommend you that one :)

Great video! My grandparents were fruit producers in the delta in the fifties. They produced apples, plums, peaches and citrics.
Wow! That’s cool family history! I would have loved to see the market back then.
@@Economic_Front Until the 80-90s there were still many fruit stands by the channel docks.

Hola familia!!!
We excited to keep exploring! :) thank you for all this information!
I never realized how accurate the Florida comparison could be considering Tigre is where Argentina's Theme Park "Parque de La Costa" is located.
Yes! It reminds me so much of it. Just a condensed version!
Hey, I see the Menu of the "Cachete Parador" is bilingual...! Spanish/English ! How cool...it's easy to see they get a lot of foreign customers stopping to get a snack and drink. I just loved this shopping area next to the riverside. It can't get better than that.
Beautiful Family☀️
Congratulation☀️💪🏻

Hermoso! Gracias por compartir su experiencia!!
Thank you! It’s our pleasure :)
The Delta is really big. You can easily get lost there. You can also reach Uruguay in 3 hours from Tigre navigating at low speed
If I was driving the boat I would have gotten lost for sure lol
Tigre is awesome. I´ve been a couple of time there and I loved it.
It’s full of life! Great location for families to enjoy!
My parents grew up on the Delta. I have great memories as a child 8 or 9 years old going back from the United States to visit my grandparents and going fishing for catfish there. Lots of great memories.
That sounds amazing!!
Would love to do this! We’ll go back for sure :) thank you for the support!
Nice to see you with your family ,enjoy Argentina! I am a immigrant too but from paraguay my family came here in the seventies🎉
Thank you! I’m so happy to hear that your family found Argentina to call home too :)
