A 6000 step hike to Nongriat Living Root Bridge, Cherrapunji Meghalaya | 第5次印度16:徒步6000天阶 乞拉朋吉雨林活树根桥

From Cherrapunji, I took a shared taxi to Tyrna town to see the Umshiang (double-decker) living root bridge. It's a 4.5km trail down the hill with some turquoise color natural pools and waterfalls along the tranquil path. Difficulty level: medium (for those who regularly exercises). The walking trail itself is not long on stairs, however quite steep and hilly most of the times. It is rewarding after all, since the scenery is amazing and learning about Khasi people's creation of sustainable lifestyle is eye-opening.

第五次的印度行，梅加拉亚邦 Meghalaya 首府 Shillong西隆出发去到乞拉朋吉 (Cherrapunji)后，找了一个拼车去了30分钟外的村子Tyrna。这里是徒步去看树根桥的起点。景点不收门票，徒步距离4.5公里。先下后上，要走大约6000个台阶。冬天的时候太阳4点落山，出发要趁早。一路上有乱石堆和瀑布，水潭，很适合中途停留，游泳。如果自己没有安排交通的话，回城就只能在村里搭顺风车了。人流太少，很难叫到包车回去。但是见到整个树根桥的结构和这种可持续发展的创意，千里迢迢来一趟也绝对值得了。

It's a tourist place, very safe. 😃 Well, in general regardless of diff regions, I never feel concerned when I'm solo traveling in India. Ask locals where to go/where not, what to do/what not to do is always the best decision.

Infact , the real name of this village is Sohra not Cherrapunji it's so sad because all tourism around the World don't know the name Sohra but they know it as Cherrapunji we as khasi people we feel sad to hear this b'cuz our own language was missing away 😢
