I absolutely LOVE this game. The vampire theme, the art style, how fun and varied combat is, the huge variety of bosses and how great and rewarding the overall progression feels... i could go on and on. I've finished 2 full Brutal playthroughs with two seperate friends which took roughly 60-70 hours each with us goofing around and getting our asses kicked by various bosses. And that was just the incredible time i had with the ARPG part. All i've been doing the last 3 weeks is building and refining my dream castle on a private server which allows the maximum set of tiles and height limit. I haven't been this hooked to a game in a long time. I've recently cracked the 400 hour mark (all done since 1.0) so i might have a slight vampire addiction problem...
I’m right with you. Also cracked 400hours in 1.0. Been at it since early access. I do the same, after completing the acts, build, build and build. Hours upon hours of entertainment available.
I'm so happy you're trying out V Rising. This game is really well done. I'm enjoying my time with it. And by time I mean, I have over 300 hours in it!!
I really like how the world feels LIVED IN. Most ARPGs feel like it's just tons of "empty" monster filled wastelands. As the enemies in this game are people, they have settlements, towns, and even a big city! Fantastic!!
@@starnetic7779 what's your difficulty? your server settings? did you just ran through the v blood quest? because how do you enjoy a game that takes time by rushing through it?
@kenneraguilan2074 I haven't changed the server settings it was base version. For difficulty I think it was called hard and I basically looked up a base build and completely build it. Most of my time was for base decor v bloods where easy like on 3rd try I could easily do it
Also as a reminder there is a blood moon phase…it will basically let you have a longer night cycle and I think you get a damage buff. I’m fairly new so don’t quote me on that just yet
Imo vrising is one of the most shockingly amazing games to come out of nowhere in years. The beauty and polish of the game cannot be understated. The lighting effect are gorgeous and everything about the game is just such a delight. I also LOVE that the way the progression system is designed that you never feel like you need to grind for drops. Thats such a nice departure from the way every other game these days wants to you grind the same content over and over. Vrising has 54 bosses, all of which are unique encounters, most quite challenging. Even if you only ever play the game solo, it represents a TON of play experience. Personally I'm at 243h played according to steam. (Note I first got the game right when early access launched, I haven't played 240 hours since the game officially launched) ;) My only complaint about the game is A) no crafting from storage, and B) the Dracula encounter is a pretty huge jump in difficulty so if the rest of the game felt "appropriate" to your level of skill designed to slowly get harder as you become better, the end feels really frustrating because suddenly you hit this massive wall.
I *love* it. Been playing since early access in 2022. I played this instead of D4 S4. Using Wolf form and or a mount makes day travel much easier. Drink those sunlight resistance potions. Gear gets progressively more in-depth as you make your way through the acts. Like adding jewels to augment skills, even jewels come in 3 levels. You can move your Castle including servants. Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet but I wanted to say I appreciate the rounded shape of your green screen overlay. You look like you're part of the HUD lol - must be the Rhykker In-lay Mod.
I just started the game. Enjoying it so far and kept wondering how to build a roof lol. Glad to know I just had to make the walls enclosed. But yeah the brief 30 mins I got with it has been fun. Can't wait to dive into it.
To get my roof I have to add more doors lol my castle is full door after door lol and my throne is up stairs in my castle and at the bottom lower lever are machines for doing jobs or weapons or armour and I’m going to keep building make it massive.
Can you zoom in to make it more of a 3rd person view (e.g dragons dogma) style camera. I hate the top down diablo style games and would like to bring it more horizontal.
I've been playing this game since Early Access and I've had a blast with it with each major patch. Definitely fun to play with friends or solo, but once you get a handle on it and clear your first playthrough in PvE, the game really shines in high-stakes PvP servers on fresh restarts. It's a blast to try to run in on a new server and claim a base and progress as quickly as possible to make sure you can build near optimal resource locations and hold your own in PvP. Definitely a rush!
Hey Rhykker thank you a lot for showing us this game a couple years ago. I was instantly hooked and played it like 30 hours in ea but had to stop because of other game releases and stuff. Now that its released my friend and I have a blast playing that shit. We were so impressed how much they added in this game its insane. So again thank you a lot for this.
I love this game every time they release a new big patch/release. Me and the wife buy a server and beat the game again. We enjoy it a lot. Watch them bosses just because your gear it at level don’t mean he won’t **** you up.
I bought it right before the official release on PC, waiting for season 4 on Diablo 4 to start. I thought it was really good, but had a few issues. The biggest issue was the controls. The second issue was how much progression was locked behind certain bosses you had to kill. Without killing them, you were stuck, and there was nothing else you could do about it. But I really liked the caste building and the whole concept was interesting. I may go back to it once the D4 seasons get old for me.
Have you noticed is there is any difference in difficulty between PS5 and PC version? For example, you seem to deal a lot of damage to the boss at 4:40, so just want to confirm if bosses are not weaker on PS5.
I love the UI upgrade. Played the early access quite a lot, but this is much better. Multiple floors is new too, which I like. And you could build a base almost everywhere, not only at some specific places.
Respec is free. The only cost would be the material for the building that allows that. But once you have it you can reset any school with just a button. I love this game and I've enjoyed the public server so much after over 100 hours of solo play (pve)!
Rhykker this game tops diablo 4 cannot deny it. Ive put 48 hours in it since its ps5 release and im on gear lvl 66 from the help of my clan mate. Its incredible, pvp server brutal difficulty. Best vampire fantasy arpg ever.
I've almost exclusively played this game solo; and I will say first and foremost. It's absolutely fantastic. A tip I have however as this game is DEFINITELY built around having a group farming basic materials like stone, wood, Hides, etc. as a solo can be extremely monotonous. With the new Server Settings I just cranked up resource collection to 1.5x to help with that and it felt perfect. I have played once in a group on a PvP server and while the combat and PvP itself was TONS of fun. I do really dislike the base raid mechanics a le RUST for reference but that's a small gripe and they now have official No Raid PvP servers. A must check out for ARPG/Survival fans!
It's quite good and quite difficult in some fights, finding 100% blood quality is RARE, so finding one with 100% blood quality is quite rare and there's a couple to a few achievements involving that too. It's an unique style of gameplay that's never thought of working but it does work. Just be careful, not all bosses will be a cakewalk, sometimes using a different weapon and playstyle works because there are some bosses that CAN counter what build you do have. So sometimes you have to change around your playstyle to kinda counter the boss while the boss is countering your playstyle.
I've been in pre-release for a long while, and the progress they have made is excellent. I especially like the ability to easily tailor a custom game if you want to make it either more punishing or less. The pvp is made kinda crazy when castles are part of the game as well.
We need v rising to become like vampire the masquerade with different clans and different types of vampires and for vampire Cain to turn up in an update
I've owned this game since 2022 and have not played it since. Mainly I was waiting for full release but still regularly think about it and will play it one day. Love the premise. Feels like a Fall kind of game rather than something I'd play in the summer.
the only problem i have with v rising is that when a new server starts everyone progresses though it in a few weeks and the server dies down again. So at the next server start you have to do it all over again. Also if you dont want to be raided all the time you cant really build a good looking castle in pvp, you have play the castle building meta otherwise you lose your stuff all the time.
Can anyone tell me what is the combat like? Is that not really a focus, is it more like Valheim buy with a top down view? What else is there beyond the typical survival stuff? I might pick this up for PS5 tomorrow
me and one friend played all the way through to the dracula fight when it released recently. i had a ton of fun as a fan of the isometric hack n slash, and i also love survival games. this game is quite fun
I'm seriously in love with this game. I was skeptical of the combat being cooldown focused, but in practice it works really well. Been playing on brutal difficulty and every boss feels like an event! It's really making me wonder if I'll ever go back to D4 at this point. Oh, and go look up castle tours. People are making some bonkers stuff.
I agree its amazing, but it also very much ends. Unless you intend to and enjoy constantly resetting and doing the same content repeatedly I feel vrising def has an end to it.
@ryancooper3629 oh for sure. But there's also the whole 6 month server reset and pvp, so tons of depth and incentive to dig deeper if this is your kind of game. But in particular, the castle building is an entire second game stacked on top of this one. Look up castle tours, they definitely get the creative juices flowing. Anyway, point is, super long tail on this thing for a game with a beginning, middle and end.
V Rising is 9/10, and the 10/10 is hard to nail down. Something to real get the late late game going. That said, it is easily worth money, I grabbing some of the DLCs as well as I want to support the dev. Nails so many things and a lot of content whether solo or group.
I watched you play this the other day and I bought the base game and love it. Will be buying the DLC today for Father's Day. LOL. Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there.
Bought on PS5, thought it would be a nice addition and maybe put 20 hours into it. Yeah now 30hrs in and kind of addicted to this game, enjoying every minute and in my opinion its a sleeper hit and should be GOTY nominee.
The update to let it work on the PS5 also let it work on the steamdeck, and it's pretty damn good. excellent game, on PC (keyboard/mouse) or Steamdeck/PS5 (controller).
I got his game the day it came out in EA played it all then came back for gloomrot and I am back playing it again for the 1.0 release. I love this game, the combat is so good and the way they mix in the survival elements are just awesome.
I really want to love this game, but the way ranged abilities work on the controller is so difficult to get the hang of. Game really needs auto targeting with the right stick moving the camera (maybe hold L2 to manually aim)
I played about 60h solo pve. I tweaked my server settings to make it more confortable for ressources grind. And yet i still found it too grindy. The power scaling tied to the level of your gear didn't felt good, especially with a combat system that seems to require player skill. But it doesn't ! Not as much as I thought at least. Nevertheless, this game is doing a lot of things right in this genre, like the easy way to move your fournitures and stuff at will. And the more you progress, the more cool things you unlock. Keeping you engage and having stuff to do. But I guess I didn't enjoy as much as i thought because It's clearly made to be played multiplayer pvp. In that regard, I can see the appeal ! I'm still glad I supported them since early access. It's a great game, just not for me. I need to go back to Valheim or Enshrouded ^^
My brother has been playing this and likes it more than the Diablos, which he started playing at the dawn of its first days. He clearly has great taste in games and was the one who into’d me to D3, which naturally led me to 2 and 4. I have his original discs, so if I get time I’d like to play the first one…long story short, our shared love of the games is one of our greatest bonds…it’s not weird…stop judging me…unfortunately, I’m a lowly little X-boxer, so the jealousy and FOMO is REAL when it comes to V Rising…Damnit…I think I just talked myself into buying a PS…for one game 🙄.
Hands down the best game in over 10 years that i have played. I have 215 hours played and i haven't encountered a single glitch or bug within the game. That is quite impressive in my opinion. 9.8 / 10 game for me. For people who like a proper and real boss challenge, i really encourage them to play on Brutal Difficulty. I have Nothing bad to say about this game really, the only thing negative i experienced after beating the game and completing every single achievement on Brutal difficulty was that it was over and that there wasn't anymore for me to do! If that ain't a hallmark of a great game i dunno what is!
Yeah, its amazing how polished it is. Even on day 1 of early access, I never felt the game had any bugs or issues. They obviously improved it a lot since then but even the day 1 game was a beautifully polished version of what it is.
@@ryancooper3629 Yeah i tried it in the very first early access build and it did not impress me at all at the time. So i stopped very quickly and never planned to return to the game. But then i saw some youtube video of some streamer playing it and noticed just how insanely good just the graphical update was, which peeked my interest, gambled and well rest is history :P
Thanks for covering this. I saw it in the PS store and wondered, "What is this game with Castlevania themed dlc content?" Now I know. Also, there is Castlevania themed DLC content. Among the things you get it looks like you can make your character look like Alucard from Symphony of the Night. So that's cool.
Peeled my eyes on this gem a year ago but wouldn´t buy ANOTHER Alpha or Beta. Two days ago I scrolled through the Playstation store and saw that V Rising finally hit 1.0, It was a instabuy for me. What should I say, I called in Sick and playing non stop, did I even sleep? Dunno.
The game is incredible untill you reach the " end-game " Then there's not much to do other than killing a few abnoxious bosses and get the last pieces of gear. There is no reason to keep playing after that. It seems that the game struggles with player retention bacause of that. The game is quite grindy and difficult to complete but in the end all your effort goes to waste as most servers and especially pvp ones die after a couple of weeks max. I really think that this game could explode in popularity if they manage to add a solo/duo and flex queue with seasonal rewards. Also i could see this gaming being awesome as a Survival MMORPG on a bigger scale with server of 500+ capacity. The map needs to get bigger for that though. Anyway the game is great, but... but...
Yes the game was not designed like an MMO with player retention in mind. And that is a good thing coz it means they can truly make it high quality without the need to worry about dumb stuff infinite replayability. I think it's one of the most well made games in over 10 years. It's not long but what it does it does very very well. And at least to me, worth every dollar, unlike D4 as an example. In regards to the Pvp stuff and server wipes: Im pretty confident that over time the PvP community will grow enough so that they have set up their own private servers and dsicord will probably be the place in the future where people can find good PvP servers for invites that never wipes.
@@bojnebojnebojne I agree, being able to feel "done" before the game gets boring is a beautiful thing. My only complaint is that the content ends before your gearing ends so there never is a challenge for your "final" state to face off against. Imo you should max your character then face off against Dracula so that it truly feels like the final ultimate challenge where you have reached peak progression.
@@ryancooper3629 Yeah i can agree with that, maybe i was lucky cos i got my legendary Greatsword right before it was time to face Dracula on Brutal so i never felt the grind sorta.
That game looks good, I was thinking on building a castle in minecraft, dragon quest builders 2 (even looked at lego Harry Potter sets)... maybe that is the game I'm missing. I wonder if you can make the Count from sesame street "haha, one stone!"
Im playing solo on brutal added difficulty and the challenge kills any boredom. Feels very satysfying to build and prepare for tough boss fights. Also incursions give you the arpg aspect because its farming for gear and its rng based so it has this arpg feel.
I enjoyed playing through it. Not really much point of farming any kind of end-game, since there really isn't anything to do, after you beat the BBEG. Obviously, that changes when you're on a PVP server, but PVP has never been my thing. I got a good 50 or so hours out of it and that's fine by me. I liked the more deliberate combat, but it does kind of feel like playing a PVE moba at times. Overall I'd say it's a solid 7.5/10. probably an 8.5/10 if you're a big fan of the resource farming/building/survival part.
I've also put an unholy number of hours into this game since Early Access on PC. It has come a long way, and it deserves the recognition it's getting. The love they put into this game is on par with the love that the makers of last epoch put into theirs.
@@bojnebojnebojne Nope. Very similar to this in that it's a sandbox survival/horror-esque game but Viking themed. Very gear dominated, skills matter but only fraction. View is over the shoulder and it can be solo or servers set up like this. I think servers cap out at 8 to 10 players. I play solo so can't speak much on that. It's pretty cheap on Steam for how large a game it is. Highly mod-able and the community on reddit is huge.
There's a few games where I am just at a complete loss as to why people enjoy them and V Rising is one of them. Not saying it's a bad game at all, clearly I am in a minority here considering it's very popular, but I just think it's so rough.
i played it a few, thing is i suck at boss fights and you can not progress without killing bosses, unlike valheim, if am stuck at a boss fight, i can keep geting my skills better until eventually i can take on such boss, no such a thing in v rising. disapointing
You can change the multiplier for gear and health values when setting up a server for private play. It's essentially the same as standard coz bosses dmg scale with it as well. It's just that some people prefer certain number values and find it easier to evaluate things between certain number values. But percentage wise it's roughly the same as standard. Like it feels better to hit something for 900 out of a 1000 than it does to hit something for 90 out of a 100 right? Dats basically what it does.
I don't understand why Diablo 4 doesn't have a real day/night cycle. Titan Quest did it in 2007 or so, this game does it now, Diablo 4 bragged about a day night cycle, but it just has "day" and "night"...The shadows are static. It's really a letdown....
This video sounded like this guy just read from a script lmfao. It’s not a good idea to say I played … and then I read something happens in said gameplay

the only problem i have with v rising is that when a new server starts everyone progresses though it in a few weeks and the server dies down again. So at the next server start you have to do it all over again. Also if you dont want to be raided all the time you cant really build a good looking castle in pvp, you have play the castle building meta otherwise you lose your stuff all the time.
The best "survival game" that i've played hands down. Survival games weak sides are usually the combat, but V rising really shines in this department.
Can anyone tell me what is the combat like? Is that not really a focus, is it more like Valheim buy with a top down view? What else is there beyond the typical survival stuff? I might pick this up for PS5 tomorrow
I played this game long ago and it felt like some weird survival crafting thing. Is that not what it is now?
you still have all the crafting and survival elements, but a lot has been added to it
me and one friend played all the way through to the dracula fight when it released recently. i had a ton of fun as a fan of the isometric hack n slash, and i also love survival games. this game is quite fun
The only thing missing in V Rising is the ability to take your servants out as followers/fighters.
Did they fix the combat controls on controller?
I watched you play this the other day and I bought the base game and love it. Will be buying the DLC today for Father's Day. LOL. Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there.
Happy Father's Day!
Free weekend on steam - watching this video while its installing
6:21 Nice.
V Rising is a hidden gem . GOATED game
Just bought this game. Killed a bear 10 levels higher. Excited to see how much complexity this game has
One of the best game out there
Just purchased it. It’s difficult but very fun
Already completed it on normal difficulty, pretty good!
I’m looking forward to play it this week
I really hope they do crossplay between console and pc for this
I really want to love this game, but the way ranged abilities work on the controller is so difficult to get the hang of. Game really needs auto targeting with the right stick moving the camera (maybe hold L2 to manually aim)
Is there ps5 and pc crossplay?
I have this on PC, but want this on the PS5 too. Probably a waste of money, but seems like the perfect couch game.
Here he goes again with those DM style video titles 😂
Anybody know is this works on deck?
I've been wanting to buy this game for a long time and I'm wondering. Can you do some more material about this game?
Will play it someday. Perhaps when its on sale
Thanks for this I'm definitely buying of the back of your video
This game is a blast, works well on handheld
Still deciding if I go pc or ps5?
If you have fat stacks - PC
If broketh, PS5
The game is amazing, do you have a clan for this game?
This game just needs a real endgame and it would be 10/10
insert a shadow realm flip to the map, like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
That'd be dope, with a whole new boss ladder and progression arc
pretty fun once you get started
Enjoying this game much much more than Vessel of Hatred, D4.
Not even close to similar games. I am the opposite, couldn't stand this slow drag of a game but love D4 Vessel of Hatred.
I'm going to have to check this out, been seeing very positive reviews on Steam...
Hoping to dive into this in the fall!
🤓🤓🤓🤓
Thanks for covering this. I saw it in the PS store and wondered, "What is this game with Castlevania themed dlc content?" Now I know.
Also, there is Castlevania themed DLC content. Among the things you get it looks like you can make your character look like Alucard from Symphony of the Night. So that's cool.
You stated Castlevania DLC content twice. Also, the C in DLC means content. You don't need to say down loadable content content.
Love this game. Favorite game in a long time
The shadows aren’t moving the sun is
my favorite part was the day-0 paid dlc that should've been in the base game.
Dunno.
I have 150 hours in since it was in beta. love the game
This game is amazing but very time consuming if you want to succeed, pve mode is very forgiving tho
That game looks good, I was thinking on building a castle in minecraft, dragon quest builders 2 (even looked at lego Harry Potter sets)... maybe that is the game I'm missing. I wonder if you can make the Count from sesame street "haha, one stone!"
It isn't a bad game. I have played it on and off for a while now since it was in early access. I wouldn't spend the money to get it on PS5 though.
I have'nt touched this since aug 2022, it was very lack luster then, hoping its better now
I was kinda bored of it....
Overall I'd say it's a solid 7.5/10. probably an 8.5/10 if you're a big fan of the resource farming/building/survival part.
i did the same and i can 100% attest to it's improvement.
It's like a new game for me.
I finally kill Dracula last night, and Rhykker posts a a vid. 👌🏼
It's fate.😂
Congrats!
I love this game!
So its Valheim... but with vampires.
Yes but also no. Strangely enough, it had me thinking of valheim, plus Castlevania 2 Simon's curse, plus a link to the past.
I've also put an unholy number of hours into this game since Early Access on PC. It has come a long way, and it deserves the recognition it's getting. The love they put into this game is on par with the love that the makers of last epoch put into theirs.
Isn't Valheim like a standard MMORPG camera sorta?
Haven't played it myself so curious.
Hate to tell ya but Valheim wasn't the first of it's kind, it was just popular.
How in the hell do you have 1000 hp at gear level 40?
Played this a year ago, maybe a bit more. It was a nice game, but after a while it was just sooooo repetitive!!!!! Did that change now in 1.0?
