Loved this scene, Buck showed care and compassion for his fellow teammates. Shared his food, helped with water and kept them warm and strong. Then The Black Wolf appearances gave Buck strength, confidence, courage and cleverness to survive.
I remember reading the book, my teacher told me there was a movie coming out about it and i was so excited to watch it. still my favorite movie to this day
@Lamar8795 read the book, watch the movie, and note all the changes they have made for the sake of " inclusivity" and appeal to current social engineering agendas.
this was actually a smart decision by buck, running left would have been so much harder cause they would have been trying to outrun an avalanche, instead he went inside the mountain, that way they can get some cover while trying to get out of the avalanche's path. it gave them more time to get out of the path.
No it wasn’t, he doesn’t know where the cave led, the avalanche could have caused icicles inside to loosen, fall and impale them. And they somehow survived the icicles in the first place. Then they would be trapped in the cave with no way out.
I've LOVED This story as far back as a KID! I read the story in grade school (early-mid 60s) and saw the 1935 black and white version. This story NEVER GETS OLD!
Depending on the size of the avalanche, you have very little hope of outrunning it. It's like trying to outrun a tsunami wave. Your best chance is to try to get out of its path.
Yes, I'm always confused when something is falling or cascading, and the characters run away from it to outrun it instead of running to the side to avoid it. Ive seen people cut down trees and then run away from it long ways. It's amusing
This was the best scene in the whole movie in my opinion. I love the music with the scene like it’s fun/action packed and especially at the end is like pure joy like you’re almost there and you made it to your destination. This movie is actually my #1 favorite out of all top 10. I’m dead serious. Never would have thought a dog movie would even. A lot of people would say it doesn’t match the book. To me, it doesn’t have to be. They have to change up the narrative a little bit to impress people. And plus it’s a dog novel so I would think they would keep it less violent than what I’ve heard what the book is more about. Especially when people said Buck kills Spitz in the book and he doesn’t in the movie. So their intentions was to make it safe for kids to watch the movie. Even though Hal kills Thornton and Buck kills Hal at the end. Just small or brief. But I just love this movie.
While some people complain about the dog being CGI, i think it looks pretty good and helps portray more facial emotion in the dog. Like right here 0:37 you can see the determination in Buck’s eyes.
Do you know the time stamp? I watched the movie and I accidentally fast forwarded because I sat on the remote and now I can’t find where I was at but I can’t find this scene either, do you know the time stamp of this scene in the movie?
Love this movie, although it's one of the saddest I've seen. I absolutely bawled when the pups died and it made it difficult to watch it all the way through. Although it's worth the watch, just know it's very heartbreaking at times.

Plus, qhen he looked to the left, they showed us it was just a wall of rock, they would have been completely stuck
A sanitised version of the book's biggest theme: Buck embracing his wildness & outgrowing his human mentor.

Yeah but when Perrault said left, they were close enough to the beginning of the passage that they could have done a u turn and been fine.
