@@helge9047 not as much as thrawn is. Mostly, when we only had the ot. When heir of the Empire came out at the time, Thrawn was a very different antagonist that Vader was.

I would love to see a flashback with Thrawn and Galen Erso as they discuss the merits of Project Stardust/Death Star.
If they do that, it would be the first time the Mikkelsen brothers play opposite of each other. Would be very cool.
in one of the new Thrawn books, Thrawn finds out about the Death Star and advises Tarkin & Palpatine that its a bad idea and they should focuss on fleets and training. thats what his Tie Defender program was about.

as a dane is so cool to see Lars Mikkelsen and his brother Mads Mikkelsen just rock the internatinal scene when it comes to movies and series. Its funny to think of that they where in several local danish TV shows which are not well known at all. And Now both of them are international stars in Star wars movies or TV series. its just so great to see.

Loved this actor ever since he played President Petrov in House or Cards, he makes an amazing villain and he was the perfect choice for Thrawn both physically and for his voice, I’m so glad he was confirmed!

My dreams have come true, no one could ever be a proper replacement. I remember when I first heard his voice as Thrawn in Rebel's Season 3 trailer. I got chills because it was exactly how I imagined it while reading Heir to the Empire.

I was at the panel in London and I immediately recognized him for the two seconds we Saw his face. As a Dane, I Can not describe how it felt to see my fellow countryman receive all thar love he did during the panel and on live stage. It’s going be amazing to see him make the transition from animation to live action.

For those unaware. Thrawn rescued the star wars franchise because up until Heir to the empire it was crashing bad.
Miks came in an absolutely nailed one of the most beloved characters in modern literature and who had already become kind an enduring Darth Vader figure.
He's just not aware of how big thrawn is and how well he nailed the character down. He's a good bad guy

@@aaronfreeman5865 couldn’t agree more. I read the original Thrawn trilogy back in the 90s and still love Them to this day.
And speaking as someone who has followed his career in Denmark since the late 90s, I Can tell you that you ain’t seen everything he is capable of in terms of performance. His voice is one thing, which is absolutely brilliant for Thrawn. But he is a theatre trained actor and have a Way of playing his characters with both a sense of evil, genious, humility and fooling people into believing he is a good person as Well. All traits that hits the nail on where the Ahsoka series Can take Thrawn.
He was definetely overwhelmed by the love he received from the fans at Celebration. I was there and immediately recognized him in the two seconds we Got to see Thrawn’s face in the extended trailer. It was insane how people reacted and he totally deserved that reception and love he got. About time he starts to beat his younger brother on the world cinema stage ;) always loved Lars more over Mads.

Lars was tasked with bringing one of the most beloved Expanded Universe characters to life, and absolutely knocked it out of the park in Rebels.
With how much Disney has been flubbing their recasts of Rebels and Clone Wars characters, it was such a relief that they had the presence of mind to keep Lars as Thrawn.
Can I ask what characters you think were flubbed recasts? Just curious cause I don’t know of any that seems bad to me.
Also gotta love the fact, that both brothers play unsettlingly evil men. Admiral Thrawn and Hannibal Lecter are brothers hahahaha. Amazingly talented individuals

Thrawn has been my favourite star wars character since I read Heir to the empire many years ago. I hope they do him justice. He didn't win often enough in rebels for my liking.

He IS Thrawn. If you know him from "Sherlock" (Charles Augustus Magnussen) and "House of Cards" (Victor Petrov) you do know what I am speaking of.
And if you are Danish like me and have followed his career in Denmark, you’ll know that’s only half of what he’s capable of ;)

Thrawn has to be one of the most revered villains in Star Wars, or you can think of him as the one who tried to save the Empire, depending on your point of view.

He does but supresses it when giving interviews in English. Danes are very good at adopting English accents. Another example of this is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in Game of Thrones.
One Mikkelsen was upset that Death Star was nothing but the waste of resources so another Mikkelsen made a critical weak point in its design to prove his point

I can't tell if this is a serious comment. If it is, he is the voice actor that has played Thrawn in a previous tv show called Rebels. His voice is perfect for the role. You can find youtube clips of him from rebels to hear it.

I say everyone but it's most people tbh and ppl think Benedict would be an awesome Thrawn but he refused when fans started wanting him cause he said he didn't want to have his body painted.

@@Drycer No worries! Cumberbatch would be an awesome Thrawn but I'm glad Lars is able to continue this role and bring him to life. In a weird way, I feel like Cumberbatch is such a big star, it might take me out of the performance. But that's just my own issue.
