@@TriathlonSkills-SimpleSwims Hi, just started some proper swimming again for IM Austria. I tried this and it's working....what I've changed is that after extending the arm rather than push my forearm down (using elbow as a pivot point) I now pivot using the centre of my forearm as you seem to demonstrate, keeping the elbow up and forward. This saves a lot of energy, and by applying pressure I feel I can better rotate and glide forward more effectively, as opposed to just pushing water behind me. It works, thank you for sharing! Doesn't come easy as a runner!!
Hi Julian, thank you for the feedback and your question. Yes, once the recovery arm elbow/hand align or are parallel to the lead arm elbow, start the press, extension, weight shift. Press and reach for the next further “ladder wrung”. Let me know if that helps. Cheers!
Thanks for your sharing
Of all the analogies for the catch that I've seen, this is the best. Wish I had face-to-face access to such a wonderful coach.
Awesome analogy!! Helps to visualize the movement. New to swimming so thanks for the vid!
Good. Very innovative.
I like the idea!
I really like this concept Thankyou so much for sharing
Thank you Celeste. Your videos have really helped me. I am in my sixties and just learning to swim. Your videos have been invaluable.
Great video
Amazing and clear explanation, thank you mam.
Awesome explanation!
Thank you you make it very clear and easily
That's a whole new way of looking at it - I'll try that on my next swim
If you like, let me know how it goes for you. Give it a go for a few practices.

Thank you
