It's weird I avoided this game because at the time I heard all the negativity around quiet and the story so I just kind of forgot about it. I'm playing it now though and it's amazing the amount of freedom you have and the feeling you get infiltrating bases is peak metal Gear. I love this game

Every Metal Gear game was amazing for it's own reasons, Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 for being ahead of their time, MGS3 For... Everything. Metal Gear Solid 4 for tieing up loose ends, Ground Zeroes to hype the game back up, and MGSV for it's AMAZING gameplay. I've never seen such a great game in all of my life. Absolutely Incredible, I'm gonna S rank all the Missions.

If anyone is here in 2024 you should play all the recordings you get. It's a pain but you will get challenge rewards for it and you don't need to listen to the whole thing. Just click through them all real quick for free stuff
Same borrowed it from a friend cuz his copy was collecting dust Jan 2021 and so fucking glad I did. Play it every day and luckily PSnow has MGS 4 and the HD collection MGS 3 Snakeeater is on the same level of depth, fun and time consumption. By the time I stopped playing and went to Warzone, I think I'd notched up around 300 hours on this game. 🤣 Fully upgraded bases, nuclear warhead, pretty much everything unlocked. I think it's worth another look.

I've been playing MGSV: PHANTOM PAIN since release....on PS3, PS4 and now looking fabulous AF on PS5....When I transfered from PS4 to PS5....It kept the years of materials but NOT the save info, this is the only game i don't mind starting over....BUT this time I have 3 or 4 systems of GMP about 40 million to be exact...and plenty of materials 💪🏾❤
On mission 8, you can place an electric AT-mine just in front of your horse, the lead tank will stay electrocuted while you Fulton the rear tank and the truck
i love this game so far. 60 hours, mission 14. i played mgs (1998) then nothing until 2017 when i got mgsv on sale. I'm not very good at any stealth game. i sucked at sniper elite 4 for example. so i dunno why i thought I'd be better at the peak stealth game lol. but it's great and the lore is impressive af

Thank you for 1,000 subscribers! This video was two weeks of just editing (45+ hours), not including 60 hours of playtime on PS4 for the footage. Lots of detail, over 110 retakes total to record audio segments and bits in order to get the strategies and the timing of what's happening on the footage. Some humor is thrown in, but not too much. And I really believe this has a level of polish that looks good, has some nice graphics (though basic), and everything moves along rather fast, without wasting your time with stuff you dont need to know. Share it with friends that struggle with this game, then I'll see you all in the comments with what i messed up on:)

im glad people keep finding this game. It really is well made and it goes on sale several times a year, so you can often find it for cheap. take your time and enjoy it (even tho i say to get to mission 22 as fast as you can first:)
i will try this again when i get a chance. Its been a long time since i tried it, and i remember thinking the same thing once, but I believe extracting by heli "ends" the mission. Any farming method seems to require you to get containers, get the autosave, and then abort mission. This is what ive seen ALL other videos do (best of my knowledge). With the decreased container values now, I dont see how it would work. This new method i do requires us to abort into freeroam for it to work -- extracting with container goes directly back to chopper. This should remove the containers from the map, requiring you to complete 5 story missions to reset. Good idea, but i do remember testing this back in the day.
I bought this in 2016 then life bitch slapped me across the states. So now I've gotten into it heavy and I've watched this video like 4x already, this is the best mgsv video Stryker!
Not really "just starting" per day but definitely playing it again in 2023. Also I have never beaten it. I was to young and dumb to get the mechanics down the first time I played it. Now that I'm older and understand how the game works it's way way way better.

Update Version 1.19 is out, both consoles will show version 1.15 on main menu. Any farming methods in this video still work (as of Dec 15, 2019). Additional Correction: You need to complete FIVE missions to get missing containers to respawn in the world.
yes. if you grabbed them in freeroam or during a mission that you complete. I heard side ops work too, but i haven't tried it in a long time, but i know story missions will work.

If you max it out, then the game will automatically let go of the overflow by lowest rank. So you DONT need to watch who you grab at all times, but it will save you time if you can avoid a bunch that would get kicked out anyway. Why spend 4 mins grabbing EVERYBODY nearby if only 5 are worth it? So yes, stick with the good ones when you can. The game will add junk ones automatically anyway, but dont feel like you need to remove them manually.
I haven't seen anyone besides me make MGSV videos in the last few years, but then I haven't been purposely looking for new vids. But any videos I came across and used for reference were mostly 5+ years old:) Dont forget my other newer video, "Top 20 Advance Tips Ultimate edition".
its been so cheap when it goes on sale. I usually see the base game on sale for $5 US, or the definitive version for $6 (at least, at the cheapest price so far). There's no reason to not try a game of this quality when its so cheap, even if you dont normally like the series.
Caveat re "Always start on freeroam": Don't start mission 30 on freeroam if you're taking Quiet. You'll chopper in anyway but there's a bug where she'll start outside the mission area and be unable to scout OKB Zero. (D-Dog is a better buddy for that mission anyway, but if you take her, this bug can make her useless.)

sorry, i spent an hour and i forgot to clarify it. It gives you an additional tank to sell for $100K for free. It was an old technique that most players knew about back then, but I forgot to explain it for new players. It doesnt seem like much, but early in the game, if you repeat the mission 7 times, then that gives you an extra $700,000 which is nice when you're just starting out.

no prob, I saw a lot of people finding this game for the first time due to new sales or being offered for free, so i decided to make it from the point of view of a first-timer. It turned out really well.
good job, i really wanted to get it, but i figured it would take several hours for me to get it. I repeated one mission 3 times and was getting an A rating everytime, so i decided it was better to spend my time working on someting else. I wanted to get my percent up too, but i spent so long planning the content that i had to just focus on my newest video instead. It takes some serious dedication to get all s-rank and 100% so good luck.
The first 5 minutes of the video is pretty unnecessary imo. Taking too long to get into the subject can affect your audience retainment. Otherwise, thanks for the video, I learned a lot
I made timecodes for everything in the description so you can travel to wear you want. There's a reason why i covered what i did -- i watched a lot of mgsv videos and the 5 min i take is not bad. If you dont like those first few minutes, then just scrub forward a minute at a time until you get to want you want.
I know im REALLY late to this party, but I've had this game for awhile and have not played it until now. I'm now over 16 hours into it, and just started to realize how much materials and GMP you need for later items. Do these methods still work? yeah, just completing the missions is a small percent by itself. They divide the overall percentage between completing all missions, beating them with s-rank, doing ALL objectives, completing all side missions, finding all animals, and then a few more things. So it boils down to each one of these items each being a fraction of 1% point. I remember doing like 8 or 10 objectives in missions just to get 1% added to my total!
@@CalvinMagnusMusic good job! I think I got about 240+ hours by the time I did and saw everything I wanted too. At that point all you can do is grind for the gold-tier items, but most of them aren't needed for anything. Most MGS games you beat in about 16 hours and you never need to come back to it - thats why i love this game!

sorry, that was a well-know method of dropping a tank and picking it up repeatedly back in the day (you can get an extra one added to base every time you do it, then sell it). It was know in the community, but i forgot to explain it better in the video (i believe i say u can sell it, but its not as obvious). I was editing and cutting out anything that didnt need to be said the best i could, so i must've trimmed down the reason why in the final edit:)
This certainly has the most comprehensive intro there is. As I watch the rest with excitement over the comprehension! BTW. I hadn't felt more masculine then the day I extracted a "Wild Ass" with a pink base while rockin the Leopard Camo. It was a very "pride" filled day.

You need to cut down the background music to about half of what it is because it's very distracting. Also i would cut down on the rambling because you have REALLY good content that's bogged down into a 1 hour video due to all the unnecessary rambling in between. Love your video please keep it up.. learned a lot!
Ive been working on getting to the point faster, and I do that in the squeal video, "Top 20 Advanced Tips" much better. That audio part i originally fixed, but the changes got reset when i changed another part. I didnt notice it until after i put it out and it started getting views. I dont edit the audio the way I did it for this video anymore, so im sorry it gets loud in the one part still, but i did fix my process so it doesnt happen the same way again. thanks for helping in a constructive way, i really do listen to comments when people take the time to try and help me out:)
you still get reduced values even when starting mission in freeroam and hitting the checkpoint for materials to arrive to base, if you choose abort you dont get any of the materials you extracted even if you hit the checkpoint for them to arrive, you guide is outdated and patched by konami

Really wish this game had some more replay value, but definitely one of the best from Kojima, its such a shame it went unfinished and that we won’t have a new game in the series, however there is rumours that MGS 3 is being remade
we've heard about several remakes over the years, to the point that unless a developer comes out and announces it officially, I just ignore it. If another developer makes it, while Konomi just publishes, it could be good.

Lots of detail, over 110 retakes total to record audio segments and bits in order to get the strategies and the timing of what's happening on the footage. Some humor is thrown in, but not too much. And I really believe this has a level of polish that looks good, has some nice graphics (though basic), and everything moves along rather fast, without wasting your time with stuff you dont need to know. Share it with friends that struggle with this game, then I'll see you all in the comments with what i messed up on:)

im glad people keep finding this game. It really is well made and it goes on sale several times a year, so you can often find it for cheap. take your time and enjoy it (even tho i say to get to mission 22 as fast as you can first:)

i will try this again when i get a chance. Its been a long time since i tried it, and i remember thinking the same thing once, but I believe extracting by heli "ends" the mission. Any farming method seems to require you to get containers, get the autosave, and then abort mission. This is what ive seen ALL other videos do (best of my knowledge). With the decreased container values now, I dont see how it would work. This new method i do requires us to abort into freeroam for it to work -- extracting with container goes directly back to chopper. This should remove the containers from the map, requiring you to complete 5 story missions to reset. Good idea, but i do remember testing this back in the day.

Not really "just starting" per day but definitely playing it again in 2023. Also I have never beaten it. I was to young and dumb to get the mechanics down the first time I played it. Now that I'm older and understand how the game works it's way way way better.

Update Version 1.19 is out, both consoles will show version 1.15 on main menu. Any farming methods in this video still work (as of Dec 15, 2019). Additional Correction: You need to complete FIVE missions to get missing containers to respawn in the world.

yes. if you grabbed them in freeroam or during a mission that you complete. I heard side ops work too, but i haven't tried it in a long time, but i know story missions will work.

Is it better to capture all soldiers or only the good ones?
If you max it out, then the game will automatically let go of the overflow by lowest rank. So you DONT need to watch who you grab at all times, but it will save you time if you can avoid a bunch that would get kicked out anyway. Why spend 4 mins grabbing EVERYBODY nearby if only 5 are worth it? So yes, stick with the good ones when you can. The game will add junk ones automatically anyway, but dont feel like you need to remove them manually.
Can we bring new mgsv content back to RUclips in 2022.. we didn’t deserve this game and we was blessed by the big boss in the sky anyway

Like others, I just recently sat down and fully jumped in and I’m REALLY digging the gameplay loop
its been so cheap when it goes on sale. I usually see the base game on sale for $5 US, or the definitive version for $6 (at least, at the cheapest price so far). There's no reason to not try a game of this quality when its so cheap, even if you dont normally like the series.
Caveat re "Always start on freeroam":
Don't start mission 30 on freeroam if you're taking Quiet. You'll chopper in anyway but there's a bug where she'll start outside the mission area and be unable to scout OKB Zero.
(D-Dog is a better buddy for that mission anyway, but if you take her, this bug can make her useless.)
never heard that yet, but i know the map so well now that i never need her to take guards out. I might try to make that happen once for footage:)

The only thing i dont get is why are you spawning a tank before farming containers?
sorry, i spent an hour and i forgot to clarify it. It gives you an additional tank to sell for $100K for free. It was an old technique that most players knew about back then, but I forgot to explain it for new players. It doesnt seem like much, but early in the game, if you repeat the mission 7 times, then that gives you an extra $700,000 which is nice when you're just starting out.

good job, i really wanted to get it, but i figured it would take several hours for me to get it. I repeated one mission 3 times and was getting an A rating everytime, so i decided it was better to spend my time working on someting else. I wanted to get my percent up too, but i spent so long planning the content that i had to just focus on my newest video instead. It takes some serious dedication to get all s-rank and 100% so good luck.
The first 5 minutes of the video is pretty unnecessary imo. Taking too long to get into the subject can affect your audience retainment. Otherwise, thanks for the video, I learned a lot

I made timecodes for everything in the description so you can travel to wear you want. There's a reason why i covered what i did -- i watched a lot of mgsv videos and the 5 min i take is not bad. If you dont like those first few minutes, then just scrub forward a minute at a time until you get to want you want.
I know im REALLY late to this party, but I've had this game for awhile and have not played it until now. I'm now over 16 hours into it, and just started to realize how much materials and GMP you need for later items. Do these methods still work? And thank you for the videos thus far, this one helped me some.

I just noticed I've played for 51 hours and reached 4% completed. Wtf is this game on O.o
yeah, just completing the missions is a small percent by itself. They divide the overall percentage between completing all missions, beating them with s-rank, doing ALL objectives, completing all side missions, finding all animals, and then a few more things. So it boils down to each one of these items each being a fraction of 1% point. I remember doing like 8 or 10 objectives in missions just to get 1% added to my total!

@@CalvinMagnusMusic good job! I think I got about 240+ hours by the time I did and saw everything I wanted too. At that point all you can do is grind for the gold-tier items, but most of them aren't needed for anything. Most MGS games you beat in about 16 hours and you never need to come back to it - thats why i love this game!

sorry, that was a well-know method of dropping a tank and picking it up repeatedly back in the day (you can get an extra one added to base every time you do it, then sell it). It was know in the community, but i forgot to explain it better in the video (i believe i say u can sell it, but its not as obvious). I was editing and cutting out anything that didnt need to be said the best i could, so i must've trimmed down the reason why in the final edit:)

This certainly has the most comprehensive intro there is. As I watch the rest with excitement over the comprehension! BTW. I hadn't felt more masculine then the day I extracted a "Wild Ass" with a pink base while rockin the Leopard Camo. It was a very "pride" filled day.

i liked making a double-barrel shotgun with as much stuff on it as i could:) Then i forgot about it for awhile and when i was making this video, i found it again -- so i put it in the video.
You need to cut down the background music to about half of what it is because it's very distracting.
Also i would cut down on the rambling because you have REALLY good content that's bogged down into a 1 hour video due to all the unnecessary rambling in between.

Ive been working on getting to the point faster, and I do that in the squeal video, "Top 20 Advanced Tips" much better. That audio part i originally fixed, but the changes got reset when i changed another part. I didnt notice it until after i put it out and it started getting views. I dont edit the audio the way I did it for this video anymore, so im sorry it gets loud in the one part still, but i did fix my process so it doesnt happen the same way again. thanks for helping in a constructive way, i really do listen to comments when people take the time to try and help me out:)

you still get reduced values even when starting mission in freeroam and hitting the checkpoint for materials to arrive to base, if you choose abort you dont get any of the materials you extracted even if you hit the checkpoint for them to arrive, you guide is outdated and patched by konami

Really wish this game had some more replay value, but definitely one of the best from Kojima, its such a shame it went unfinished and that we won’t have a new game in the series, however there is rumours that MGS 3 is being remade
we've heard about several remakes over the years, to the point that unless a developer comes out and announces it officially, I just ignore it. If another developer makes it, while Konomi just publishes, it could be good.
