Yes!! I’m from the Bay and I’ve watched this episode about ten times; not just because Adrian is from the Bay; but also beside he has so much flavor. Todays episode (9-16-23) has a man from KC, and he spoke on how much talent there is in the Bay.
The only podcast episode I’ve watched s as much as Adrians is the Drink Champs episode with Mr. Fab, Yukmouth, and Too Short; another great Bay Area representation.

This young man's couch conversation was and still is one of the BEST informational lessons to date. If resilience was human, he is the epitome of it. Great knowing that Tank and J are in his mentor list and hoping to see more from him in the future. Now that I've subscribed to his channel, this oldHER one will go looking for THAT song 😂.

My first time catching an R&B Money podcast. A lot of inspiration in this interview. My favorite thing Adrian Marcel said is “There’s not a date to this destination””. I’ve heard “it’s not the destination it’s the journey” but sometimes even that can feel like, “yes the journey is cool but I need to get there by a certain time” as if what I’m called to do has an expiration date. This is a great reminder that it doesn’t. I respect his hustle mentality and the fact that he’s still keeping his dream alive and repping the bay while doing it. I’m gonna need for those 100 songs to roll out a little faster though haha.
I cant wait to check out some of his work since 2am, that song has been in my head randomly for years

Watching Adrian on here brought back a fond memory . I remember myself an my God sister walking into a restaurant or store in the Bay , it’s 2013 , we’re both like 18/19 at the time and this man was selling Adrian Marcel 7 days of Weak mixtapes for like $5. I’m talking really giving my guys discography so that we knew who it was we were about to listen to . & My heart is always in a place of support so i bought it & listened to it.. I’ve been a fan ever since . Of himself and Jane Handcock . This episode makes my heart warm 🌞

This podcast has made me want to take up residence in the Bay, the talent, sheesh! Another great one learning new info about an artist that doesn’t get their due.
Dropping gems again. A lot of people who want to get in are on the outside looking in, so it’s intriguing to hear the “how to” stories of some of the now foundational figures. The gag is…these stories are so different except that some of the beginning interviewees are so connected. It’s almost like you need to penetrate this circle of pioneers, but they were formed formed from a different cloth. So the next group has to just forge ahead to produce the next batch of creators and that’s what everyone is doing, or trying to do. People are just putting it out there. Keep coming with those foundational stories. Jon Platt would be a great one. He’s Clarence Avant’s protege. Boy if y’all get that one…they don’t even know.
