I got such great feedback on the Malex part that I decided to extend it some, since I hadn't quite got this song out of my system yet. And I really enjoy vidding these types of lyrics anyway. Sorry if I reused clips in parts, I can't keep track anymore and I'm delirious at this point.

Rewatching this when I actually know the show gives me so much more insight (of course) into some of the specific amazingness of the lyric matches that might've escaped me on the first watch. I've rewatched it a fair number of times and don't remember when I first was really loving when Alex said "I think that you loved me, for a long time" for "you never called it what it was" but it is such a powerfully perfect moment.
And using 0:04-0:05 with how he keeps looking back at Michael worked so well for how any time now maybe he'll call it love too, given the context of what was JUST said between the two of them, damn... I also loved SO much how you used the rest of that moment for the part of the song about how the person said essentially... oh how do I translate properly all that is amazingly conveyed in "You said 'if we had been closer in age maybe it would've been fine' and that made me want to die" but... one way to interpret it is like saying "yeah there were no good reasons for us to break up... except I suddenly decided this thing that wasn't a problem between us actually was a problem after all and it's a thing that is unfixable/unchangeable about us" and that's just... like Alex hearing Michael say he also thought they'd end up together too is basically more painful than almost anything else Michael could've said at that moment.
Really creative choice of scene for "there was nothing else I could do". "So casually cruel" was so well matched because it was such a moment that I felt like Alex was expressing his hurt with no idea how much it would hurt Michael to hear until after it was out of his mouth? That was always the impression I got from how those actors played the scene... so intense lol. Also really makes me think on a personal level about if that's another anxious attachment thing to do - having faith in people who aren't giving you a good reason to have that faith lol... hoping anyway... clinging to fantasy... lol.
And the way you paralleled that moment of Alex actually choosing to betray Michael with the spaceship piece with the moment that Michael said "if anyone's going to destroy me, it might as well be you", I'm surprised that I don't know if I've ever seen that parallel actually vidded anywhere else, although obviously the later scene does evoke the first one so obviously. Anyway that worked AMAZINGLY for "Remember it all too well".
The two "you double cross my mind" moments were perfectly, so carefully chosen lol. Michael totally looks like he feels double crossed to have Alex brought up and brought to his mind in both of those cases, I love it so much. Obviously the "lost" moment was a good one, as in Michael feeling like he lost Alex when he seems Alex with Forrest... or "I'm a soldier" where you pick a moment of Alex in uniform, these are like such obvious little details it feels silly mentioning them but I know not all vidders would be so good at choosing these moments. You do such a good job with all the little stuff too.
I already mentioned in my original comment some of the other things I loved in this vid so I won't repeat myself about those lol...
Obviously the now healed hand and also later the tool shed for "remember it all" works perfectly too. ;)
I really like the parallel near the end of "Did anyone hurt you?" and "Are you okay?" with Michael's concern for Alex too, plus sorta nearby paralleled how Michael wants Alex to be careful... those were all such sweet moments for that sweeter part of the song as it ends. I love so much about this vid and I just thought it was time I left you more of a comment... hope you enjoyed this comment lol.

I agree about the "if we had been closer in age" line, and I had similar thoughts about what it meant and how to match it. Like this thing is suddenly a problem even though it has always existed, a very quick way to get rid of a person... And also the scene with the "casually cruel", I really felt it too and they seemed to intend for it to be super painful, and Alex not realizing before it was said. And yeah it definitely sounds like an anxious attachment thing. Thank you SO much for all of your amazing comment:))
