GREATEST HITS of 2018 (Thermal Hog Hunting) - Horn Swamp Hunting
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 29 янв 2019
- We removed over 250 wild hogs during the summer of 2018 at night shooting Pulsar thermal scopes and ARs. Here's the best of the spring, summer, and fall condensed into 13 minutes of pig popping.
GUN: AR 15 6.5 Grendel
SCOPE: Pulsar Trail XP50
Welcome to the world of thermal hog hunting, the preferred method for farmers to thin the populations of feral hogs on their property. Invasive wild pigs are destroying farmland all over the country, especially in Texas. While the populations of wild hogs here in south Alabama aren't as huge, it's still a big problem. We take the fight to them, night hunting with Pulsar thermal scopes and ARs. It's pest control, but maybe not the kind you're used to!
OUR MISSION:
We work to beat back the invasion of feral pigs into southern Alabama. These invasive creatures destroy the land, eat crops, and endanger the survival of native species. While our method may never fully eradicate the population of wild hogs in the area, it can prevent further increase of populations and thus reduce the negative effects caused by them.

I have to admit... it’s fun to watch some of the worst shooting. You know it’s bad when on your first shot, hog runs! Not just run, but a strong run! Great vid!!!
@Bigg A• I just don't get it how some of these guys are trying to take down a 250 or 300 pound hog with one body shot.
They are pest just load um up with lead, a good lung shot should slow um down.
i agree
This should be recognised by the IOC and part of the next summer Olympics. Real gold medal prospect here!
This guy is a good steady shot. He doesnt panic when they scramble and shoot wildly.
thanks. comes with experience.
You guys are giving me anxiety ulcers when I see a group of hogs all bunched together and only one shot is fired letting the rest of them scatter.
Whoever is behind that gun needs to know that you are suppose to put the dot on the pig's snout when it is running, and most of the shots are too low. Either set your scope to shoot an inch or two higher at 100 yards and you will quit all of the missing. Just try this friendly advice and you will learn a little something from somebody who is a Master of Arms and have been shooting for well over 50 years.
I thought I was the only one who had a problem with the shooting on display. Most of those rounds missed their target completely
Absolute game changer in regards to pest control
From 12:18 to 12:50, does it get much better than this? I'd say no. Nicely done.
I asked about your counting out loud, you answered, well you made good sence, I hun t but new to hogs. I was wrong, keep doing your thing.
I can watch these hog hunting videos all day!
Well done, keep at it!
Thanks for watching!
I can watch this stuff all day!
Best videos. Thank you for feeding.my family. From n.h
Just great compilation. Keep on.
"Any pig that doesn't run is a well disciplined pig"
The best is when you see big hunks of flesh get torn off and fly 30 feet from the hog. Makes me all misty eyed...
My favorite video is when he shot the pig right in the butthole.
I like this guys scope the best. Good shoot'n too!
That's a Pulsar XP50
Awesome video Mr. Wig. Is here with good vlogs Lol.
Excellent shooting , fantastic editing , AND no endless yakking , all business . great job - A+ .
Yup...the Keith Warren, Carp Sauce (yeah, I spelled it wrong), and Tim Wells' "play by play" commentary wears on ya real quick. I believe that they just like to hear themselves talk. Then, you got the bunch who want to grow up and be VJ's, DJ's, and musical score creators are a couple others. All that stuff just yanks the realism and enjoyment right out of the vids. Almost like they think that they're teaching a bunch of first graders. I'm sure that they're fine people, but damn. Hell, my daughter (started her in the woods and on the water when she was 5-6yrs old) and ex-wife don't ratchet-jaw like that. Speaking of my daughter, she's like her mom...the poor thing is uncoordinated as hell. But, if I'm lyin, I'm dyin, when I say she took to a fishing rod and shootin iron like she was born with em. Admittedly, I'm biased, but aren't we dads supposed to be lol?
Love the vid. Top shooting and heaps of it. Not to much bloody blarh blar blarh. Good job. Keep the coming mate.
I love it ,
Wish I was there,
Keep up tne amazing work.
Nice shooting! Please keep up the great videos. I'm so subscribing to your channel!
Thanks! We always appreciate a new subscriber.
@ 3:25 runnnnnnnn!!! Little piggy took 5!! And kept on going 👊🏽
He deserves to live..... take'm to the vet
Outstanding!!!!! 3:16 just splattered it!!!!
Very good! Thanks.
This video's fantastic. I love squealers. Your rig is silent. Are pigs more likely to get up & run after a rear gut shot vs a side shoulder shot?
They are more likely to run off after a rear gut shot.
you guys should contact the province of saskatchewan, serious hog problem, and from what i have read they are heading south to montana.
great videos btw
subbed
SERIOUSLY impressive shooting.
Thanks!
i just love those flippers
That's some pretty good shooting 👏 I like the 1 shot, but not the 5 shots to humanely bring a pig down!
The shooter seems not to be squeezing but jerking the trigger at times.
Great job my friend...
Good stuff buddy cheers from australia
Loving the thermal here too :)
Good video, nice quiet rig. However, in this video the 6.5 Grendel doesn't appear to be a sure stopper.
Great video! Great shooting!
Wouldn’t an AK47 be more efficient? I mean, they scatter so quickly! I never thought I had hunting in my blood but these videos are satisfying. Except when they escape!
The AR15 is equivalent in firepower to the AK47. It's a semi-auto with a 20 round clip.
Good show, thx!
The little exploding hog at 3:15 was the best.
Muy bueno el video saludos amigo Daniel
¡Gracias Daniel!
Hunters auditioning pigs for this video: Oh don't worry, we don't need head shots right now, we can get those later.
Good work! Nice shooting....
you have a hell of a steady hand, what are you on
I use shooting sticks.
I always heard pork was unhealthy and bad for you. Now I see why , its full of lead. Hahaha, nice shooting guys. Keep the vids coming.. 👍
D-D-De-D-D-Dea-D-D-Dea-Dat's all folks...!
"Run, little piggy!" -- SPLAT!
This hog was running towards the icon where he got shot from, im guessing he was going for a melee kill 🤔 8:49
nice work
Great shooting, I'm guessing that you are using a smaller round due to less recoil and better sight picture?
Tom Blount 6.5 Grendel
Head shots is cool! This what I would do, to put a pig down right were it's standing.
Boa caçada..!!
hypnotic...
Do wolves hunt feral hogs? Wondering if you could train a pack of large dogs to be corn hounds instead of sheep hounds?
Wow! @3:15 bacon bits everywhere!
Good One.LMFAO
1:54 "Mission failed. We'll get 'em next time."
That hog was hit at least twice though
Видимо станок удобный, и навык наработанный - с упреждением попадает пулей в бегущего, как будто дробью по утке. Like.
👍👍👍 быстрей бы сезон !!!
Wow, some of those were huge... and not far removed from domestic hogs. When do you need me to come help you? BTW, you're deadly on those standing pig shots, but you've got to remember lead and follow through when they're running.
I wonder if the would still run with a suppressor.
Why go to Costco free range in range a dollar a shot great vid keep them coming
will do and thanks for watching! :)
Which model of Pulsar thermal was this?
Pulsar Trail XP50
Great shooting
Love the videos! What are each of you into your rifle sets ups? ($)
Gun $1200, Thermal scope $5000, suppressor $1000
Wow !
@1:54 the indestructible hog. almost..
Boris the Bullet Catcher
@@nephos100 shooter gets overexcited, and looses focus on what he is suposed to do, always go for the piglets first, but he instead builds the house starting with the good and trying to finish with the basement, sort of speak
this goes out to all the pig hunters good job these animals are a menace to crops and cattle .. they destroy the farmers feilds and can quite possibley spread sickness in cattle im from montana and this state is yet to have a hog problem but there are a lot of hunters in my area so it will be a bad thing for hogs to come around ... anyway keep up the good work saving crops and feeding the the food pantries and healthy dog food again thanks
Thanks! We agree totally, the damage caused by hogs is devastating. We hope you never have to deal with them up in beautiful Montana!
3:15 Closed casket funeral
Mickey Bitsko Right On! 😂
@@dougrush5710 SWEEEEEEET piggy, piggy, piggy bam
😂😂😂😂
what range and bullet caliber. guessin 782 or 308
Shooting 6.5 Grendel. 100 grain bullets.
Whats the prefered"round" for hog hunting?
We really like 6.5 Grendel.
Is your silencer actually that quiet or is it the audio what kind of silencer do you use
Not it’s not that quiet. The microphone on the scope doesn’t pick up real well. It’s a Silencer Co Omega.
Those little football sized ones are tough to hit
One question that you use to shoot at night is that I want to buy one and I don't know which one, thanks
We use Pulsar Trail and Thermion models.
Great Hits look different to me
3:15 piglet explosion
Gettin' it done!
thanks! y'all keep shooting 'em out in Texas too!
beautiful
some of those hogs are taking 2-3 shots and still going. tough
What do you do with them? Do they have a game taste? Or are they like regular hogs.
Taste like chicken. I meant pork! We eat some and feed the local buzzards too
You using hunting sticks, free hand or reading on a truck? What calibre?
Wish we could have surpassors and semi autos, looks so much more effective.
Shooting sticks. 6.5 Grendel
@@hornswamp and particular reason on 6.5 grendal?
Hunt Shoot Offroad Fast round. Cheap ammo. Kills pretty well.
@@hornswamp thanks for the info!
What sort of rifle, ammo being used? Was a silencer being used?
AR 15 in 6.5 Grendel. Shooting supersonic ammo through a suppressor.
Do you track down the hogs that are just crippled up by shots on the fly?
Yes. They usually don’t go very far into the woods before they go down.
The rifle is pcp ???
O.42 moonwalk 😄
Speaking of horn, if you have a friend stand a 1/2 mil away with a train horn and have him blow it for 5 seconds, it might mask your first few shots. Just a suggestion.
Great video! That's what we like to see! All shootin and no music or taking. A damn shooting gallery.
Try unloading it into the group after first shot. Once they all scatter lots of missed shots trying to get one on the run good shooting!
Nitrates in bacon? No night raids for BACON! Tripolar out.
Even the babies dang
Dat's bringin home da bacon now!
Do you guys leave the dead hogs on the field for natural decomposition and varmints to eat..?
Are you using AR rifles....in Texas
Yes, we use AR15s usually. And we usually will drag the dead hogs out into the woods where buzzards won’t collect in the middle of the field.
What a nice experience and aiming practice. Merry Xmas
@@magnificumimperium8392 Merry Christmas to you too!
What gun & thermoImaging did you use?
6.5 Grendel on an AR 15. Shooting pulsar thermal optics
@@hornswamp Thank you.
Good job.
Always sad to see the little piggies go down, but this has to be done.
exactly
@@hornswamp those are some really tough hogs they took some serious hits.
Good video but you need to force yourself to aim at mid body height on the running pigs. If you study the video you will see that there were too many shots going under the target. Wish I had the opportunity to help you out on this project.
great 👍👍👍
What is the biggest hog you dropped? It seems the big hogs drop easily, and the average hog take 2-4 shots?
The biggest hog I’ve ever killed was about 300 lbs. My friend, who supplies a lot of the footage in our videos, has killed a 375 pound hog.
Also, the main reason you see the larger hogs getting killed quickly, is because we target those initially while they are standing still. The smaller, lower priority, hogs are shot while on the run and these shots are naturally less accurate.
They run because they know they're guilty
Hha haaa haaaaaa
if they run...they're VC ...if they don't run, they're well trained VC
Same with criminals
@@jmcg2518 true but criminals have rights. Pigs have the right to remain bacon.
@@curtisj2002 ha ha ha 😂
Do the carcasses just rot in place?
Quite often.
Wilber looked up, and a moment too late realized that Charlotte had just spelled out "you're fucked" in her web.
So damn many hogs!!! Tearing everything up it’s a shame.
great shooter 😊
Nice
3:15 head shot !
BAMA bacon!! Yum yum.
Great shooting! Put an IR sighter on and everyone will know what to shoot. Just a thought...….BUZZ
