My best advice is don't overbuy. I know it's hard with your first one but they really don't need that many clothes and they outgrow the newborn size in weeks. Wait until after your baby shower to do any shopping so you don't end up with doubles or stuff you won't use. The baby is really only going to be in onesies and the footed pj's for the fist few months.
Girl you need to just go grocery shopping instead of doing pick up orders, it’s good exercise and I know you have anxiety but when you have a baby you’re gonna have to get over a lot of anxiety because you’re going to have to take your kid places to go play and you’re gonna be extremely overwhelmed a lot. Maybe something as small as going to the grocery store to get all of your groceries (regardless of how big the order is) would be some good exposure therapy. Just something to consider, and you can always make sure you get good produce!

My advice as a seasoned mom of 3 boys lol is they will live in footed pajamas for the first few months. Only get the zip up kind or the magnetic ones. Get some velcro swaddles with the zipper access for diaper changes. Prepare for birth but also prepare for post partum. Get yourself adult diapers, cooling packs, bidet or peri bottle, nursing nipple pads for leaking, If you plan to breastfeed then get a pump through your insurance, get milk collectors and/or haakaa, nipple butter, meet with lactation consultant or take classes on breastfeeding if you plan to. I could go on & on lol
I personally liked the button sleepers/foot pjs, that way I could just unbutton the bottom to change diaper vs having to almost undress baby completely… especially if they’re asleep!

I had vsg 2yrs before I got pregnant and nothing really changed for me. I was sick the whole first trimester so I tried to prioritize water and protein but ate anything I could keep down. The last 2 trimesters were pretty normal, but I noticed I wanted snakcs between meals (I did a ton of cherries and sometimes sour patch kids😂). It'll be just fine!❤
I will say that the majority of what you will buy will be way too much and essentially pointless(speaking from experience lol) BUT I fully believe in living up every moment,buying all the things within your means,enjoy all the firsts including big purchases even if it only suits y’all’s needs for a few weeks/months. No matter what anybody says…ENJOY EVERYTHING!!!! This is y’alls experience and you should soak up every bit of it.That little man is gonna be loved and cherished and that brings out the ugly in people who can’t whether it’s financial restrictions or what have you. Alex… I’m not hating. Just want to point out something I’ve learned. Microwave popcorn is AWFUL for you! The bag is a known carcinogen. Buy some kernels and pop it yourself. It’s super easy to do and tastes AMAZING! Also, meat is NOT the enemy. A lot of these plant based meals are literally made in a lab. You’re eating for you and your baby now. Moderation is key… but watch the preservatives in those meals.
Don't let Bruno get close to the plants! Lily's are deadly to pets and I think daffodils are too. I think to be safe, I'd enjoy them far back on the counter and then throw them away. Not worth the risk to a fur baby! 😮
Weirdly I know a lot of people that are pregnant right now so my hot tips for new moms during your pregnancy is buy diapers. Every time you go to the store it doesn’t matter what size but you were gonna need diapers for the next several years so stock up, especially if you have room for them.
Nah, if you don’t have to do it because of financial reasons, it’s not a good idea. I asked for diapers for my baby sprinkle for my second (as we already had everything else) and I had to return all the diapers because my baby was sensitive to the fragrance in Pampers swaddlers and she also skipped the newborn size (and we had a lot of that size). I ended up buying multiple small packs of different diapers to choose which ones work the best for us. Settled on the Millie Moon brand but that just worked for my chunky baby.
Yeah, prepare to coast the last trimester . you could deliver early or have to be on bedest for a few weeks. You don’t want any additional reasons to stress .
Create a baby registry at target and then buy diapers and wipes. You can return without hassle if it was on the registry! I had to swap out a few boxes of diapers to get different sizes and it was super simple.
Please take care of babies health! I know from experience that most overweight parents have overweight children. It can be detrimental to babies health, and your eating habits seem to be the same. Saying this genuinely from a place of health, your baby will likely be born overweight. Just really be mindful, it’s really dangerous to be an informed parent. There’s lots of classes for this too! Please do look into it ❤
The outfit was so cute, and then I noticed it had no snaps to change a diaper. Nope, having to pull out chubby legs every time to change a diaper is a no go for me. Once your little one is here you'll be looking at clothes in a whole new way 😁
As a momma who suffered from years of infertility - buy every impractical outfit your heart desires. They are only little once and if the outfit brings you joy, even if they never wear it, then it was worth every penny. ❤

I just had my daughter last September. Honestly the first 3 months she lived in footed onesies. Double zipper or zipper from the bottom up were our fave! Even now a little over 6 months we love our onesies. 😂 Not footed now but we save our outfits for photos or for visitors. But we could never have enough onesies!
You should start buying a small pack of diapers or wipes once a week instead of outfits. I know it’s so exciting but believeeee me, you’ll get a ton for your baby shower and they grow out of them SOOOOO fast. I had to donate more than half of my son’s brand new clothing with tags up until he was about a year or 18 months old because he never got the chance to wear them. Just a suggestion!
Those overalls are adorable! I will add, as a mom of 3, they will become the bane of your existence. It’s so much easier to unbutton something in that area, change, and button back up. If he has a blow out wearing something like that, and he will, it will get all over him. They are adorable though.
Not everyone wants to go inside to do their shopping 🤷♀️ I hate grocery shopping in person so I just do pickup orders. Plus it’s more convenient if you are a busy person & don’t have much personal time to do that sort of thing

Feety pajamas will be your best friend when they are a newborn. I would always struggle with wanting to put cute outfits on or wanting something that was easy to change a diaper with lol
You should get the lamp now, that way you’re slowly getting things together for the nursery. The best baby item we had was foot pajamas that zipped from the bottom. That way it’s easy to change diapers at night without a lot of undressing baby all the way.
My baby was born 9/30 at 7lb 4oz, he’s now 6 months in 6-9 month clothing , prob 12 month by May for sure, so I suggest not going ahead too much! He was only in NB for 30 days and 0-3 for 30 days lol😂 but was in 3-6 and 6-9 longer ❤❤❤

Alex!!! Bamboo pajamas are where it’s at for babies. Especially from Little Sleepies! They have double zippers and the feet are foldable so they last longer! Also, don’t listen to people who say not to buy newborn clothes. Better to be prepared than under prepared!
I agree! Bamboo pajamas are the best! I also say buy whatever you want! Everyone told me to not even bother with the newborn size and my more baby was in newborn for months and I only had like 4 sleepers I rotated through, it was a mess!

As a Floridian of 30yrs - everyone thinks they’d love to live here - you won’t - I’d love to be back up by you guys in the NE. You come during the nice time of year lol - come in the middle of august and hurricane season - you will see it for how it really is most of the year lol. Plus I’d never raise kids here - it’s def not the place ur used to be. Also - you should def try beyond burgers, they’re great! Dress it like a regular burger and you won’t tell the difference. yes all the new baby items could really be skipped. Breast pump and pads, blankets, socks, maybe a bassinet and crib for later, bottle sanitizer and a baby wrap... oh yea, diapers and wipes!! You should try making “pulled pork” with young jack fruit. You shred it and season it up - definitely use liquid smoke and chipotle in the sauce you simmer it in. I won’t be one of those people who says it tastes exactly like meat because it’s really it’s own flavour, but I’m not even vegan or full vegetarian anymore and I still love that meal.
Hey Alex, when you go for the glucose test I think there are like 3 options, there’s like a clear one kinda like flat sprite and the orange one is like flat Fanta I can’t remember the third but I would highly recommend the orange one. Make sure to not just buy newborns but buy like a plethora of different sizes because baby may not fit in newborn clothes. I know my youngest son he was what I call the “perfect” baby. Meaning he was 6 pounds and 6 ounces. Being a plus size woman myself I’ve never had bug babies. And my son was in almost like preemie clothes. I’ll pm you for more like mommy to be advice 👍🏻

Alex The kind of lead that is in the bottom on the outside of the stanley cup doesn't go near your water and its the same lead that is in the air that you breath daily. Do not buy lots of Small clothes get basics in small and next size up and next size up etc cute outfits are not what they live in sleepers and onsies the first year ;)
You don't have to justify what you buy your baby. You wanted this for so long. Enjoy it and embrace it. Tip though try not to go too crazy till your baby shower. You'll get so much stuff and might end up with doubles. After that you van really go crazy 😂. I had twins so doubles worked out for me lol. I'm so excited to be on this journey with you. Hey Alex whenever you can buy grapes that come in the plastic containers rather than the bags! Those grapes are always crispy! There is nothing worse than a mushy grape! Sams and ALDIs have the best grapes if you have one near you! I def will try the beyond beef I’ve always been curious about it!

The Snoo was life changing for us! She slept and still does SOOOO well. I got mine on marketplace. So worth it imo. She moved to crib seemlessly just before 6 months.

I highly recommend the book Real Food for Pregnancy by Lily Nichols! Real beef has so many vitamins and minerals for growing baby! You’re more likely to get listeria from lettuce than deli meat, just make sure it’s good quality and freshly sliced and you’re good

Every pregnancy and birth are different too. I don’t understand this need to “warn” women of traumatic births when in reality the majority go perfectly great and beautiful. Stop trauma dumping on a pregnant first time mama. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Highly suggest classes with your midwives on birth, pain management techniques, yar will learn how to help, etc! I had my son naturally and with controlling my breathing I would it again that way!

Aden and Anail swaddle blankets are so great. They can be used for a multitude of things, and they only get softer with wear and washing. Also, sleepers with zippers or little sleeping gowns that you just have to push up for middle of the night diaper changes make things a lot easier and quicker than having to struggle with buttons and snaps when you're exhausted and still half asleep. A soft glow type of night light is also handy for in the middle of the night changes and feedings as it keeps everything dim and cozy without being too harsh or jarring on the eyeballs. Lol
I’m so happy for you! Now, I’m not fussing but watch your salt. Preeclampsia is dangerous for you and the baby and you want to do everything you can to avoid getting that.
Just a tip, I wouldn’t buy any clothes that are sized “newborn”. It’s going to be too small. I’d opt for 0-3 months or 3 months. My kids were 7lbs 11 oz. It’s too hard to even get newborn clothes on them. ❤
I cannot wait to see all the shopping hauls of baby stuff!! It’s seriously so much fun getting to shop for your kids! You should definitely check out bamboo clothing for your babe. My daughter has so many bamboo pajamas and they seriously last so long so it’s definitely worth the splurge in my opinion. Also old navy has the CUTEST baby and toddler clothes ever! Probably a good 90% of my daughters wardrobe is from old navy😂
My daughter was born in mid september (years ago!) and I think being pregnant during the summer is good because you can be more comfy in nice swingy dresses than if you were bundled in layers during the winter. Also flip flops when your feet swell! The baby jumper you bought is cute BUT you might regret that it doesn't have snaps in the crotch for diaper changes! Also you'll need lots of swaddlers when baby pees thru one or spits up all over one! LOL
Vicariously perusing target is my favorite weekend activity. I love your baby purchase. 😍 I gave up coffee and all the things that are questionable during pregnancy. But I couldn’t give up turkey sandwiches. I just heated the turkey in a pan and then melted the cheese. It’s not the same but it’s yummy! And the heating makes it safe.
Why just one baby item per week? It makes sense to prepare everything in the 2nd trimester before you get so uncomfortable and tired! Also the Cloud Island modal blend footies from target are absolutely the best and the price is awesome! I got so many pairs, my baby lives in them 😄 stretchy footies last longer. And a double zipper is great especially when you’re planning to use Owlet (in the Snoo!) so you don’t have to undress your sleeping baby to put the owlet on. Same with diaper changes
Something I learned the hard way….stay away from snaps on baby clothes 😂. It’s too much! Zippers all the way and look up double zippers - they are all I will buy now!
As a veggie for many years (and after taste-testing a lot of products) I agree that the Beyond meat range is simply THE best! I wish my husband was as enthusiastic as Yar whilst eating my tacos though 😂 Congratulations on baby boy 💙

Alex… I’m not hating. Just want to point out something I’ve learned. Microwave popcorn is AWFUL for you! The bag is a known carcinogen. Buy some kernels and pop it yourself. It’s super easy to do and tastes AMAZING! Also, meat is NOT the enemy. A lot of these plant based meals are literally made in a lab. You’re eating for you and your baby now. Moderation is key… but watch the preservatives in those meals.
Don't let Bruno get close to the plants! Lily's are deadly to pets and I think daffodils are too. I think to be safe, I'd enjoy them far back on the counter and then throw them away. Not worth the risk to a fur baby! 😮
Weirdly I know a lot of people that are pregnant right now so my hot tips for new moms during your pregnancy is buy diapers. Every time you go to the store it doesn’t matter what size but you were gonna need diapers for the next several years so stock up, especially if you have room for them.

Nah, if you don’t have to do it because of financial reasons, it’s not a good idea. I asked for diapers for my baby sprinkle for my second (as we already had everything else) and I had to return all the diapers because my baby was sensitive to the fragrance in Pampers swaddlers and she also skipped the newborn size (and we had a lot of that size). I ended up buying multiple small packs of different diapers to choose which ones work the best for us. Settled on the Millie Moon brand but that just worked for my chunky baby.
Yeah, prepare to coast the last trimester . you could deliver early or have to be on bedest for a few weeks. You don’t want any additional reasons to stress .
Create a baby registry at target and then buy diapers and wipes. You can return without hassle if it was on the registry! I had to swap out a few boxes of diapers to get different sizes and it was super simple.
Please take care of babies health! I know from experience that most overweight parents have overweight children. It can be detrimental to babies health, and your eating habits seem to be the same. Saying this genuinely from a place of health, your baby will likely be born overweight. Just really be mindful, it’s really dangerous to be an informed parent. There’s lots of classes for this too! Please do look into it ❤

The outfit was so cute, and then I noticed it had no snaps to change a diaper. Nope, having to pull out chubby legs every time to change a diaper is a no go for me. Once your little one is here you'll be looking at clothes in a whole new way 😁
As a momma who suffered from years of infertility - buy every impractical outfit your heart desires. They are only little once and if the outfit brings you joy, even if they never wear it, then it was worth every penny. ❤

I just had my daughter last September. Honestly the first 3 months she lived in footed onesies. Double zipper or zipper from the bottom up were our fave! Even now a little over 6 months we love our onesies. 😂 Not footed now but we save our outfits for photos or for visitors. But we could never have enough onesies!

You should start buying a small pack of diapers or wipes once a week instead of outfits. I know it’s so exciting but believeeee me, you’ll get a ton for your baby shower and they grow out of them SOOOOO fast. I had to donate more than half of my son’s brand new clothing with tags up until he was about a year or 18 months old because he never got the chance to wear them. Just a suggestion!
Those overalls are adorable! I will add, as a mom of 3, they will become the bane of your existence. It’s so much easier to unbutton something in that area, change, and button back up. If he has a blow out wearing something like that, and he will, it will get all over him. They are adorable though.

You should get the lamp now, that way you’re slowly getting things together for the nursery. The best baby item we had was foot pajamas that zipped from the bottom. That way it’s easy to change diapers at night without a lot of undressing baby all the way.
My baby was born 9/30 at 7lb 4oz, he’s now 6 months in 6-9 month clothing , prob 12 month by May for sure, so I suggest not going ahead too much! He was only in NB for 30 days and 0-3 for 30 days lol😂 but was in 3-6 and 6-9 longer ❤❤❤
Enjoy ALL the shopping. Don’t let anyone tell you what you need/don’t need. Everyone is different! I loved shopping for my baby when I was pregnant and I have no regrets! I adore dressing her in cute outfits. I waited my whole life to be a mom and I enjoy fashion.
Alex!!! Bamboo pajamas are where it’s at for babies. Especially from Little Sleepies! They have double zippers and the feet are foldable so they last longer! Also, don’t listen to people who say not to buy newborn clothes. Better to be prepared than under prepared!

As a Floridian of 30yrs - everyone thinks they’d love to live here - you won’t - I’d love to be back up by you guys in the NE. You come during the nice time of year lol - come in the middle of august and hurricane season - you will see it for how it really is most of the year lol. Plus I’d never raise kids here - it’s def not the place ur used to be. Also - you should def try beyond burgers, they’re great! Dress it like a regular burger and you won’t tell the difference. yes all the new baby items could really be skipped. Breast pump and pads, blankets, socks, maybe a bassinet and crib for later, bottle sanitizer and a baby wrap... oh yea, diapers and wipes!! LOL My daughter just had her second baby, a boy named Rayden, he is so cute and a lot of things she received as gifts weren't even used.. sadly enough, but I get it, your first child is so exciting!!! :) Congrats!! You should try making “pulled pork” with young jack fruit. You shred it and season it up - definitely use liquid smoke and chipotle in the sauce you simmer it in. I won’t be one of those people who says it tastes exactly like meat because it’s really it’s own flavour, but I’m not even vegan or full vegetarian anymore and I still love that meal.
Hey Alex, when you go for the glucose test I think there are like 3 options, there’s like a clear one kinda like flat sprite and the orange one is like flat Fanta I can’t remember the third but I would highly recommend the orange one. Make sure to not just buy newborns but buy like a plethora of different sizes because baby may not fit in newborn clothes. I know my youngest son he was what I call the “perfect” baby. Meaning he was 6 pounds and 6 ounces. Being a plus size woman myself I’ve never had bug babies. And my son was in almost like preemie clothes. I’ll pm you for more like mommy to be advice 👍🏻

Alex The kind of lead that is in the bottom on the outside of the stanley cup doesn't go near your water and its the same lead that is in the air that you breath daily. Do not buy lots of Small clothes get basics in small and next size up and next size up etc cute outfits are not what they live in sleepers and onsies the first year ;)
You don't have to justify what you buy your baby. You wanted this for so long. Enjoy it and embrace it. Tip though try not to go too crazy till your baby shower. You'll get so much stuff and might end up with doubles. After that you van really go crazy 😂. I had twins so doubles worked out for me lol. I'm so excited to be on this journey with you. Hey Alex whenever you can buy grapes that come in the plastic containers rather than the bags! Those grapes are always crispy! There is nothing worse than a mushy grape!

Aden and Anail swaddle blankets are so great. They can be used for a multitude of things, and they only get softer with wear and washing. Also, sleepers with zippers or little sleeping gowns that you just have to push up for middle of the night diaper changes make things a lot easier and quicker than having to struggle with buttons and snaps when you're exhausted and still half asleep. A soft glow type of night light is also handy for in the middle of the night changes and feedings as it keeps everything dim and cozy without being too harsh or jarring on the eyeballs. Lol
I’m so happy for you! Now, I’m not fussing but watch your salt. Preeclampsia is dangerous for you and the baby and you want to do everything you can to avoid getting that.
Just a tip, I wouldn’t buy any clothes that are sized “newborn”. It’s going to be too small. I’d opt for 0-3 months or 3 months. My kids were 7lbs 11 oz. It’s too hard to even get newborn clothes on them. ❤
Babies grow fast, don't over buy newborn clothes. Get bigger sizes if you like the clothes and get different clothes if you can.
I cannot wait to see all the shopping hauls of baby stuff!! It’s seriously so much fun getting to shop for your kids! You should definitely check out bamboo clothing for your babe. My daughter has so many bamboo pajamas and they seriously last so long so it’s definitely worth the splurge in my opinion.
Also old navy has the CUTEST baby and toddler clothes ever! Probably a good 90% of my daughters wardrobe is from old navy😂

My daughter was born in mid september (years ago!) and I think being pregnant during the summer is good because you can be more comfy in nice swingy dresses than if you were bundled in layers during the winter. Also flip flops when your feet swell! The baby jumper you bought is cute BUT you might regret that it doesn't have snaps in the crotch for diaper changes! Also you'll need lots of swaddlers when baby pees thru one or spits up all over one! LOL

I gave up coffee and all the things that are questionable during pregnancy. But I couldn’t give up turkey sandwiches. I just heated the turkey in a pan and then melted the cheese. It’s not the same but it’s yummy! And the heating makes it safe.

Why just one baby item per week? It makes sense to prepare everything in the 2nd trimester before you get so uncomfortable and tired! Also the Cloud Island modal blend footies from target are absolutely the best and the price is awesome! I got so many pairs, my baby lives in them 😄 stretchy footies last longer. And a double zipper is great especially when you’re planning to use Owlet (in the Snoo!) so you don’t have to undress your sleeping baby to put the owlet on. Same with diaper changes
