Shortly after Vanessa released the 1988 Right Stuff Album, a tape was released showing Vanessa talking about each video she did for this album. For The Right Stuff single, she talks about how disappointed she was at seeing the finished edit and how "a lot of the dance scenes were cut out and left on the cutting room floor". She said "I don't know if the angles weren't right, or the dancers messed up, but at least I got to show people I can dance in He's Got The Look". You are correct, Nia Peebles and Vanessa Williams were both on PolyGram Records.
Fukn Fantastic!! Welcome back. Love everything about this and can't wait to dance at the club. BRAVA! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I've always loved this song and video by Miss America, that's right, she'll always be my Miss America! Additionally, I can see the influences of Janet's "When I Think of You" and "What Have You Done For Me Lately"! You nailed it Vanessa. I still have this cd! The powers that be thought they'd crushed her career. Much to their chagrin, that only capitulated her into super stardom #BeautyBrainsTalent
They did her dirty. Not only did she survive the humiliation, but paid everyone back with success. Her courage is admirable.
courage, class, intelligence. frankly that crap probably made her decide to work hard and prove herself.
Key word...Her courage💯✊🏾
Flat out Gorgeous the beautiful Vanessa Williams.
Happy 60th Birthday to the beautiful, gorgeous, and talented, Vanessa Williams! 03/18/2023 ❤🥳🎉🎊
Only 680,000 views... that's CRIMINAL!!!

Bono Boss the rap? so cute..and the Michael Jackson move at 3:00...lol cute.
It's a very old track and rnb has moved on since this track was released.

She's very talented and still stunning to this very day!
Vanessa Williams once said the best revenge is success and she definitely had success the best looking woman in the universe
Back when regular albums played like a greatest hits. This album was crazy.
Love her. She is so talented.
That lace catsuit and 'My Girlie' sample were so bomb.
i still love this song. Beautiful Woman. I swear the older she gets, the more beautiful she gets

On top of ALL the success, the Miss America Organization provided her with a live, televised apology and she served as Head Judge for the Pageant that year! 😘
This song just popped up in my head after 30 years had to hear it❤❤

I was just watching a report on the tearing down of the Berlin Wall and this song played in the background while both East and West Berliners danced with joy in the streets. A beautiful moment.
Get it Vanessa, this is still my favorite song and video you’ve done girl!
4:02-4:08!! I was 10 years old & of course, had absolutely NO idea what the "right stuff" was! All my innocent little mind knew was that, like Ms. Williams, I didn't wanna miss out on it!😂🤣 This video was one among MANY that was worthy of sneaking to watch. Back then this was considered risque! Times have certainly changed...
AMAZING! got the janet Jackson stuff going on
I was thinking the same thing... Who copied whom? I love it!
I, too, was thinking the same thing: this is very Janet Jackson-ish or Paula Abdul-ish yet uniquely Vanessa Williams. Her best video hands down.
Vanessa started before Janet! Janet had that Vanessa stuff going on...

This brings back so many memories, from my 5th grade school year.
