So-o-o, three days ago this channel reached 1K views! To celebrate, I wanted to give you guys a sneak peak into Nightmare's motivation for going after the animators in the Emblem Saga. So I whipped this up really fast :D
Through the Sleepwalking series's popularity, Nightmare's code has gained consciousness inside EthanAnimatez's computer. He has become aware of how he has been used, how he is viewed as merely a character... and he devises a plan for the perfect revenge.

Ethan's sleepwalking series and your prism series are linked!!! My theory is that nightmare is trying to get revenge on people who animated him using him and controlling him. but the animators made one mistake. they gave nightmare too much power. trapping the animators in their own rings to get revenge on him and eventuality the animators fell to him in their own world, being trapped in their rings (the glowing disc things) being used to eventuality break out of the sleepwalking series (maybe before the finale of S2, where I think he will be resurrected and used again). but I think That Nightmare is trying to break into the real world (for unknown reasons maybe he sees the animations as a prison) and dream is trying to stop. The rings come in play because I think nightmare needs them to get into the real world. also Great animation I loved it. everything was done almost perfectly. I can't wait for ep 4.

The idea here is that after Sleepwalking season 1, Nightmare becomes ‘awake’, and realizes he’s nothing but a character in an animated story. He realizes the world he exists in (the animation program) is fake, and that the ones in control live in another world outside it. He’s forced to confront his own death and the fact that everything he’s ever done is a lie. It’s a little hard on him 🤣
Like you predicted, he’s trying to get into the real world. The ‘rings’ he’s collecting are what I call ‘animator emblems’. They’re the source of the animators’ power within the animation software. If Nightmare can get five of them, he can escape into the real world and exact his revenge on those who orchestrated his demise 😏

Anybody got any guesses as to who Nightmare's next opponent is going to be? Hint: Nightmare's dialogue at the end of Episode 3 contains all the letters needed to spell the opponent's name ;)

I make my animations with a program called Mine-Imator. It’s a pretty simple software, and you can do amazing things with it! 🤩

OHH, wait a minute! I think I just realized what Nightmare was thinking. I think he thought Ethan was just gonna leave him to be forgotten, but he was wrong because he didn’t know about season 3, Nightmare said “ You animated my demise… YOU left me for dead. Nightmare went straight to accusations instead of thinking about it, because Ethan was still gonna bring him back and I’m thinking have him be the main character in season 3
EXACTLY! Nightmare discovered that Ethan had killed him off and abandoned him, and so he went straight into hate overdrive. He never realized that there would be a revival. He was too stuck on the fact that Ethan was controlling his every move.
Violence does not solve anything, he should have found a way to talk to Ethan rather than attacking him.
Welp I am looking forward to both the emblem seires and the sleepwalking series. Nightmare might come back! Who knows if it'll happen, Im just predicting all possible futures!

Is nightmare going after every animator? Not every animator used him.
Good question! :D
While not every animator has used him, any animator COULD potentially use him. He sees their existence as a threat to his power-and he’s bitter because of the sheer amount of times his character has been killed.
In short, he’s angry enough to want revenge on all animators, regardless of whether or not they’ve used him.

I know, right?! That was intentional 😏
Nightmare’s rig had just woken up from being killed off, so some amount of fear on his part was necessary :D
He still looked a little scared immediately after his eyes turned black.
