Yeah, goulash can be made in many ways. The carb component can be pasta, rice, potato or dumplings Lol. But the main seasoning should be paprika powder. Did that come through in the taste?
I did not pick up the paprika at all. It was one of the last ingredients listed. I got lots of salt and garlic. I actually think I'll make it with rice when I make it next. I kinda liked that. Thanks for watching Karl!
Welcome back Jerms 😎 I’ve had this menu twice now last time was when I had to take a spare semi for an overnight while mine was in the shop getting a service. So I had to rough it a night without my fridge and microwave. The frh hardly ever works for me so it was another cold meal lol. But it fed me for the night I enjoyed the snacks more but the main wasn’t to bad it got the job done with a zantac. It’s a decent main but not the best as you’ve described. Great review my brother thank you for posting another review
This is so crazy..... before I saw your video I just made a goulash with rice..... dang! If you know the lottery numbers share those too! LMAO!! As far as the bread in your video, I never liked the shelf stable bread..... in my case the "pain" bread here in Canada...... it just seemed to much of a chemical taste for me.... I would trade it for whatever I could at the time. Another great review my friend. Keep eating! 😀
That IS crazy!! The only way I've ever had goulash is with macaroni noodles. But I know it's made differently all over. I'd definitely take crackers for the PB&J over the bread. Thanks for always being here! I appreciate it 👍👍
I like that you held back on how you feel about that shake. Lol. I think this menu needs to be updated. Looks like a kiddy meal, with the little cookies and applesauce. Great review, main looks good. Great job brother❤😎
@@chris7infdiv835 I totally noticed that. I don't know why the US doesn't have 24-HOUR RATIONS with REAL FOOD and real ingredients Take the LATVATIAN ration for Instance. The new version. Seriously
Hey Jerms! CB again! I have had this menu twice. Since Beef Goulash is a relatively new menu, the flameless ration heater (FRH) worked EXTREMELY well and after adding salt to the FRH and some water, it went from cold to BOILING in 10 seconds flat! I almost burned my hand mixing it up and dropped it on the floor! It was literally STEAMING! The newer FRHs work SO MUCH better, either because of a new formula, or because age just degrades them. I've never had an FRH older than 10 years work right, if at all. I think age just degrades them. Fortunately, most of these MREs contain matches. Ironically, this menu does not. But several MREs do so if eating a bunch of them, matches are sure to come in handy. I have some sealed weatherproof matches from a Russian 24 hour MRE as part of my survival kit. So if need be, you can use the matches to start a fire or light up a fuel tablet stove. I absolutely love fuel tablet stoves. I think they are really cool and work fantastic! I use a fuel tablet stove with tablet I bought online for older MREs I eat. Recently, I've bought some vintage 1980's-1990's MREs and use a fuel tablet stove for them. That also works great with a HDR (humanitarian daily ration) or a FSR (first strike ration). As for the peanut butter, chunky peanut butter is in fact very rare and I like it better than the normal smooth peanut butter. Mixing both the peanut butter and jelly on the bread is my preferred way to do it. Usually, I squeeze some peanut butter on the bread, followed by some jelly, and take a bite. Than repeat. I don't spread the whole packet on the bread beforehand at once. I have GOT TO try adding cookies to the apple sauce next time I eat an MRE that contains those components! That is a great idea! Can't wait to try it! I have put peanut butter on the cookies (of whatever variety) instead of on the bread in a few MRE menus. I used the bread with the main to soak up the sauce. The rice in the Goulash is strange, but it was actually pretty good! Both times I tried this menu I was happy, but it is not on my top favorites list. Great to see another review with your glorious face! Keep up the good work! I look forward to your next review! God bless you and have a good night buddy!
Hey CB!! This was a decent meal but just took me by surprise. Agreed about the FRH's. They definitely seem to degrade with time. This one thankfully worked great! I like the fuel tabs stoves too, just don't like using them inside. I have saved quite a few in my collection now 😆 The Italian is the best I've run across so far. You definitely need to try the cookies and applesauce! You'll love it!! Glad you're liking the new format! I've been doing lots of experimenting with audio and video the last month. One of the reasons I've been doing the US and Canadian reviews. I figured if I messed up, I could scrap it and no big deal. Learned a valuable lesson when I filmed the Hungarian... You have no idea what I had to do to salvage that video!! Thanks for always being here CB! I appreciate your support!!
Great review 😊 1. Of course the Goulash was “weird” it’s goulash and it’s an MRE 😂😂 2. The protein drink was nasty because it was hazelnut 🤢 anything hazelnut is NASTY 😂😂 have a great evening 😊
Right on Jerms! Mixing the peanut butter and jelly again the new classic. That’s one thing about the new MRE I don’t like is those protein drinks! I don’t care what flavor they are. I find them gross. And I still can’t abide that there’s no coffee in there! Good work out of you. Keep them coming. Always a good time.
When you mentioned reflux I know I’d probably have to take my omeprazole first 🤣🤣🤣 enjoyable review 👍🏾 🤣🤣🤣 the protein drink probably could have used some Jerm killer
here i am, finally catching up on videos!! i'm planning to re-review this one myself soon since it was one of the first ones i ever reviewed :) personally i also thought the rice was a little strange as i've only ever heard of goulash with either pasta or potato dumplings. glad it wasn't terrible though! also, doth mine eyes deceive me or is that a giant MRE bag tapestry in the background??
Yeah, this one was strange! Yes, you are seeing correctly. That is an MRE bag flag 😁 Guess what menu I'm editing currently.... May have to film, edit and post something different this week 🤣
@@TheCotzi I will try that. I tend to heat up everything in these rations just as a safety precaution. But it's not quite so necessary with these newer ones.

Hi Jerms. Thanks for the shout-out. Perfect! Best method for peanut butter and jelly. This is almost my favorite US MRE. Great review, bud.

I find MOST MREs look like McD's happy kiddy meals, especially with the amount of sugar and artificial colourings.
