I just want a full single-player career mode like the previous two Test Drive Unlimited games had, but, yes, I'm still enjoying the demo even though I'm just cruising around the map and am avoiding any multiplayer elements like the plague.
If Nacon is watching this, Here's a List of Things to improve on. I really want this game to suceed - 1. 360 Steering Wheel should be there. Most of us want TDU to be the ultimate driving sim. We want to play with a Wheel. Give us that. 2. Daytime Lighting - The Nights looks incredible but theres something off about the day time lighting which makes the game look like a mobile game. Can be improved. 3. Shadows and Reflections - Should be of 2024 standards..I feel they are very low resolution right now or not properly implemented yet. 4. Polish the UI/UX a bit. Seems a little odd at some places. can be improved.
Game is not in a good state currently. Suffers from optimization issues. Server issues. Being able to log in successfully depends on the time of day and how loaded the servers are. Constantly kicked out of races. If they release the game in september, it will get mostly negative reviews on steam and that will kill the game.
This game is in pretty rough state but this is early demo build. Hopefully they can get the server and optimization side fixed. The vehicle physics too still need lot of tweaking imho.
I agree with you. If the game gets mostly negative / mixed reviews on Steam, it will be done for. Developers need to do a lot of fixing before the final release or it's simply going to be too late. So far, I am not impressed at all. I was thinking of pre-ordering, but I definitely won't do that until I see significant improvements.

900 Minimum wheel rotation with 1080 preferred, would actually be nice if it was variable and accurate per car instead but the other 2 points are spot on

Bro this isn't the game you've been waiting for 13 years and you know it, it's 2024 and the steering wheel isn't even properly animated, traffic cars still look like they were imported from a ps3 game, Hong Kong is one of the densest cities in the world and this feels like a covid lockdown, the player characters look awful. This looks like The Crew 1 with better lighting and that game is already 10 years old. And keep in mind that it has already been delayed several times, for this result? Unacceptable. There's no excuse to defend this game, people need to stop giving away their money to corporations that only get richer while people only become more and more disappointed with the industry.
We need: 1. Better fps optimization 2. Houses 3. Editing inside the house, maybe outside also 4. RPG like missions (delivery, transport) 5. Bikes DLC or update 6. More players per session 7. Another map with the right side road driving 8. Pedestrians on the streets

People don’t realize that’s Test Drive Unlimited experience cruising, exploring, racing and being rich. That’s the test drive experience the life of a rich car enthusiast while meeting other rich car enthusiast.
Everyone take a breath. It's just the demo. The developers are done with this part of the game. By making this available on steam, they are testing parts that require gamer input. I have literally spent hours driving around the map and I promise you all that we are good. I literally felt the avatars driving skills get better and better as I progressed up till level13. 👍 ✌️
The game is unfortunately terrible on a wheel (at the moment). The input itself feels both sloppy and non-linear while the FFB completely lacks any detail and wildly overcorrects even when not oversteering leading to severe instability in most cars. Another problem I've noticed is the cars seem to all be missing half their steering lock which curbs any ideas one might have about correcting a slide let alone holding a drift and gives you the wonderful experience of having to do a 3 point turn in a space you could turn a bus. PS Edit: My settings were not bugged so I could play around with them, they didn't really help.

Cuz you have the traction control set to very off, use CLUTCH PEDAL🙏🏻 , and also you get a feel for it in a similar way like irl. Like you use throttle control to hold the drift.
As a console player, I’m just getting shafted left and right. No insider program. No demo. But they’ll gladly take my preorder money without hesitation.

I'm only on a rig with an NVidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card from 2016 that I got second-hand so the demo is very much not optimized for what I'm playing it on, which is to be expected for a game about eight years younger than my computer but, playing in 1024x768 with the main graphics settings at medium and the gloss like reflections at low (or off), I'm having a smooth gameplay experience, it just looks like an XBox 360 game on my setup, which is actually fine with me as I still like how the Test Drive Unlimited games looked on the XBox 360 anyway (and I'm playing it with an XBox 360 controller for added retro authenticity). One graphical problem I had was that, on the default brightness and contrast settings, any sunlit object in daylight had very blown-out colours. I had to drastically lower the contrast for everything to be properly visible in daylight leading me to suspect that the default contrast setting is for people with OLED monitors. (I have a positively ancient Dell LCD monitor that I bought at Walmart circa Christmas 2007.) I'm enjoying the demo but I'm just cruising around and I am actively avoiding multiplayer, not that I've seen anyone else around... maybe I'm the only person foolish enough to be playing this on a graphics card from eight years ago? I feel like I'm a natural fit for the "Leave Me Alone, I'm Not Interested in Multipayer" clan, if Nacon wants to add that.
Hi, I love the game. Love the fact Nacon give us opportunity to try the game and see if we like it or not but anyway. Game have 95% of DNA from previous Test Drive Unlimited games (5% coming houses so soon will be 100% I hope). And we all know there is a lot of things to work on and fix or change like steering wheel animation or FPS drops etc. But still. It's so good and it is solid base to do really really good driving game. Hope developers don't leave us and they will try their best to work on bugs and add what we need. People can't expect tunings from NFS games or graphics from Forza games but this game is still best for me. Sounds, cars, indicators and finally a good city map is what I needed and I get this. It's feeling like a dream present for your birthday. Thanks Nacon. ❤
They gotta get car details down packed. Love the fact the Mustang has a 401A package but the digi dash is literally for a A10 car not a 6 speed manual😭 also the car should’ve been a performance pack with the spoiler and all. Steering needs to be 360 at the very least but really has to be 900. Gotta adjust the exhaust smoke and backfires. Every car looks like they have a blown gasket puffin all of that white smoke Gauge clusters in general NEED TO BE ACCURATE. The graphics are great but the immersion sucks bc the cars look like unfinished mods as opposed to licensed cars added to the game.
The random guy inviting you and the entire video being cruising and racing with him is so perfect, it almost feels staged... I've been liking the demo quite a lot, it feels a bit unfinished and "directionless" as in I don't really understand what to do, but after playing for a bit it got good. I think the game looks really good, the car list is pretty decent, the dealerships although super big are a nice experience to be in which you don't get in the other current games. The driving is nice, except how much you have to brake. The map is actually much bigger than I thought it would be, in 3 hours of playtime I got 10% roads unlocked, which might actually be a lot compared to TDU2 but the map itself also looks stunning, all the buildings and city are awesome. Also the hate this game is getting on reddit is insane, it's like people are tryharding hating this game lmfao.. There definitely are a few problems, like the optimization, the online only races which make you wait 30 seconds for nothing then kick you out because of server issues, in a singleplayer race, and the AI being super slow in the beginning then super fast later in the race.. But I still think the game was really nice, not really perfect but I enjoyed playing it quite a lot and will for the next few days
I've tried Logitech G29 in TDUSC and man it's horrible, there is almost no resistance until You add any amount of throttle when wheel jumps to full resistance which comes down to none when You let off the throttle. Also clutch isn't working at all, you just shift gears without it.
When I heard of a Demo being out I came first to your channel, but this unexpected release overrun all content creators :) First, massive kudos to the devs for bringing this suprise Demo to Steam for everyone to test. I wouldnt have called a demo, its more beta and in this state nobody will be encourgaed to preorder it. The devs have their work cut out on so many fronts. And I dont think they will adress all of the points until September and expect another delay until 2025. Of course this game needs lots of polish: - Driving seems good, drifting could be optimized nobody wants TDU2 trash handling, need to see what driving missions do. Tire smoke looks bad. Camera could be more freely ( make that an option- slider) - Graphics seem alright but not great, lighting and PC performance needs optimizing. Alot of times the image looks very clean and the streets lack detail. There are alot of older car models in the game now. - HongKong looks great overall but lacks alot of detail. Trafficcars have all black windows, need more dense traffic for HK. Traffic is missing utility vehicles like vans, buses and so on. Police is probably not included. Those blue " Parking Lane" holograms need to go. Needs more animations for buying a car and driving up to service points like old TDU game. - HongKong is kinda dead without pedestrians, I want more SleepingDogs vibes. Neon lights at night look great tho. - All the facilities look way too futuristic, the showrooms, the hotel and garages look like clean foto studios. Needs more detail and HK vibes going on. First hotel room should look normal with a normal concrete underground carpark. - Launching without houses/ apartments to buy is criminal. - Story seems kinda big and grand but there arent any real festival vibes going on. - Customizing looks alright, needs more content for full game. - Racing AI needs alot of work - Always online isnt gonna fly with me and most other players. Nobody wants to wait in lobby or for servers to be ready, needs a full offline solo mode like old games. The game is forced to sync all parked cars and traffic cars for all players which makes it have weird issues. That said I played TDU way too much back in the day 2007 and still have it on PC today. But I didnt like some elements that made it into TDU2. So expectations are high. I dont like how the demo is online only, alot is designed way too futuristic, the performance sucks and alot of gameplay needs all the polish it can get. So Always online, No houses or apartments , loss of TDU vibe, weird handling and general badness and buggyness will not be accepted.
Hope they bring back the buying houses and random pickup and drop off mission. Also, really wish it had an offline story mode. Wasn't able to get any races working when I tried. I rather play single player with an option to go online if I want to. Hope this game improves, loved the older ones
I feel like the sensitivity of wheel should be more 1:1, you do way too little movement when turning a little. I find myself turning 90 to 180 degrees either way when going round corners, feels awkward and annoying.
It still looks too floaty. and the physics looks terrible. I dont know if its because of the wheel but your all over the place, fish tailing and sliding all over the road. truly armature. I dare say this is even worse then the preview video you did a year ago.
wheel setting : the game changing them but show 100%. wheel delay is like in arcade game ... i heard they aim to make game more realistic so why wheel have delay input. and camera shaking when you hit a pole is vomiting... they need to add option to turn off camera shaking.
The game isn’t changing them because I put my values to 0 and the wheel felt the same as what I tested. I never had input delay in wheel though, but I feel like due to these issues it’s ruining how good wheel should feel on here
Great video as usual Alex! One thing I’m wondering about is when you’re in cockpit view. Can you look down? Imo that’s one of the things that set TDU apart from any other game. To be able to see the whole cockpit. Look down while changing gears etc.. and looking up also, for that matter. Looking up in the sky when driving a convertible etc.. that really should be in the game imo. P.S also, I really hope there is possibility to switch OFF traction control.
I noticed earlier while playing the demo that they got the wrong shifting animation for the 370Z. It's not just TDU. Those things also happen in other games, but I was expecting my character to use the paddle shifters, not use the automatic gear shifter as a sequential and fully animated shifter XD
That isn’t the wrong animation, look at the shifter in detail as well on internet pics, it is a sequential shifter, however it’s incorrect as its push forward to go up a gear, and pull back to go down while tdu sc does the opposite. Though I can’t blame you, woulda expected the character to use the paddles too haha
After playing the steam demo version, I summarized few serious problems, I hope you can report/tell the Test Drive Unlimited Official to fix/improve these issues before publishing the game because it is a memorable game for all of us, we all hope to have playful and enjoyable game experiences for tdusc 1. I use gtx1650 to play mid graphic quality, the graphic performance is very poor but I still experience frequently game crashes, I don’t know why 2. The frame is very low even at lowest graphic quality , the game is seem like stuck and un-fluent. 3. There is no option for buying property, club, casino, and clothing stores which I am very disappointed because these are my favorite features from tdu2. 3. The racing experience is weird, like there are some small materials in front of the vehicle then it would automatically spin and lose control.
I sorted my steering out Go to advance setup press it it goes blank but the right arrow will still turn it up or down when you back out you can see your changes try it

This demo is more worrying than some of the playtests we've been in. The cars still have no weight (litte curb hit and you spin out - at least we don't flip over anymore). / Cruising on 360 rotation is possible, but once you start pushing a bit....180 rotatiion needed, if you want to put any decent time on the board. Optimization is also worrying, no matter if you put max settings, high, medium,.....you just get 40-50 fps in the city at most....And then of course, the servers can't handle the load, at evening times, you can't get a race going, cause the Race servers are constantly on overload and give an error.......Conclusion, at this moment, it's a controller game with no optimization yet and non working servers........ I am well aware this is a demo, but seeing this 3 months before release is kinda worrying at least.
They need to wait another year game is not in a good state … same backfire sound and pops on every car, the streets look like everyone still hiding from Covid , the first person view needs a wider fov to see out your windows too, they need 360 wheel degree not 45 wheel angle, needs pedestrians, needs a lot more variations of AI traffic too many red cabs, the tire smoke is terrible,since they don’t have cosmetic body kits they should have way more performance options …, good thing I never pre ordered 😭

Yup. Guaranteed flop incoming. This has nothing to do with TDU. It's another soulless racer. The location was probably the dumbest decision they could've made in the first place. Along with the fact that there is no housing and no clothing shops. Also player interaction seems to be limited in conparison. And we have zero information regarding consoles. The demo reviews are devastating. As expected. And I don't care what the delusional fans think. Keep telling yourself it's a good game. Cope. You can't bend reality. If so I'd already be back in February 2011, happily playing TDU 2 online.

Yeah I've done around 100 races and not one of them have had humans join. So I've wasted 3000 seconds (50 minutes) for nothing at this point.

They gotta get car details down packed. Love the fact the Mustang has a 401A package but the digi dash is literally for a A10 car not a 6 speed manual😭 also the car should’ve been a performance pack with the spoiler and all.
Steering needs to be 360 at the very least but really has to be 900.
Gotta adjust the exhaust smoke and backfires. Every car looks like they have a blown gasket puffin all of that white smoke
Gauge clusters in general NEED TO BE ACCURATE. The graphics are great but the immersion sucks bc the cars look like unfinished mods as opposed to licensed cars added to the game.
The random guy inviting you and the entire video being cruising and racing with him is so perfect, it almost feels staged... I've been liking the demo quite a lot, it feels a bit unfinished and "directionless" as in I don't really understand what to do, but after playing for a bit it got good. I think the game looks really good, the car list is pretty decent, the dealerships although super big are a nice experience to be in which you don't get in the other current games. The driving is nice, except how much you have to brake. The map is actually much bigger than I thought it would be, in 3 hours of playtime I got 10% roads unlocked, which might actually be a lot compared to TDU2 but the map itself also looks stunning, all the buildings and city are awesome. Also the hate this game is getting on reddit is insane, it's like people are tryharding hating this game lmfao.. There definitely are a few problems, like the optimization, the online only races which make you wait 30 seconds for nothing then kick you out because of server issues, in a singleplayer race, and the AI being super slow in the beginning then super fast later in the race.. But I still think the game was really nice, not really perfect but I enjoyed playing it quite a lot and will for the next few days
I've tried Logitech G29 in TDUSC and man it's horrible, there is almost no resistance until You add any amount of throttle when wheel jumps to full resistance which comes down to none when You let off the throttle. Also clutch isn't working at all, you just shift gears without it.

When I heard of a Demo being out I came first to your channel, but this unexpected release overrun all content creators :)
First, massive kudos to the devs for bringing this suprise Demo to Steam for everyone to test. I wouldnt have called a demo, its more beta and in this state nobody will be encourgaed to preorder it.
The devs have their work cut out on so many fronts. And I dont think they will adress all of the points until September and expect another delay until 2025.
Of course this game needs lots of polish:
- Driving seems good, drifting could be optimized nobody wants TDU2 trash handling, need to see what driving missions do. Tire smoke looks bad. Camera could be more freely ( make that an option- slider)
- Graphics seem alright but not great, lighting and PC performance needs optimizing. Alot of times the image looks very clean and the streets lack detail. There are alot of older car models in the game now.
- HongKong looks great overall but lacks alot of detail. Trafficcars have all black windows, need more dense traffic for HK. Traffic is missing utility vehicles like vans, buses and so on. Police is probably not included. Those blue " Parking Lane" holograms need to go. Needs more animations for buying a car and driving up to service points like old TDU game.
- HongKong is kinda dead without pedestrians, I want more SleepingDogs vibes. Neon lights at night look great tho.
- All the facilities look way too futuristic, the showrooms, the hotel and garages look like clean foto studios. Needs more detail and HK vibes going on. First hotel room should look normal with a normal concrete underground carpark.
- Launching without houses/ apartments to buy is criminal.
- Story seems kinda big and grand but there arent any real festival vibes going on.
- Customizing looks alright, needs more content for full game.
- Racing AI needs alot of work
- Always online isnt gonna fly with me and most other players. Nobody wants to wait in lobby or for servers to be ready, needs a full offline solo mode like old games. The game is forced to sync all parked cars and traffic cars for all players which makes it have weird issues.
That said I played TDU way too much back in the day 2007 and still have it on PC today. But I didnt like some elements that made it into TDU2.
So expectations are high. I dont like how the demo is online only, alot is designed way too futuristic, the performance sucks and alot of gameplay needs all the polish it can get. So Always online, No houses or apartments , loss of TDU vibe, weird handling and general badness and buggyness will not be accepted.
They could make it like GT7 where the wheel is synced until 180° and then just stops there, it would be fine for me.
Hope they bring back the buying houses and random pickup and drop off mission. Also, really wish it had an offline story mode. Wasn't able to get any races working when I tried. I rather play single player with an option to go online if I want to. Hope this game improves, loved the older ones
I feel like the sensitivity of wheel should be more 1:1, you do way too little movement when turning a little. I find myself turning 90 to 180 degrees either way when going round corners, feels awkward and annoying.
im experiencing the same bug but i cant use my wheel at all. how did u use yours? each time i select the wheel it just goes back to keyboard
It still looks too floaty. and the physics looks terrible. I dont know if its because of the wheel but your all over the place, fish tailing and sliding all over the road. truly armature. I dare say this is even worse then the preview video you did a year ago.

wheel delay is like in arcade game ... i heard they aim to make game more realistic so why wheel have delay input.
and camera shaking when you hit a pole is vomiting... they need to add option to turn off camera shaking.
The game isn’t changing them because I put my values to 0 and the wheel felt the same as what I tested. I never had input delay in wheel though, but I feel like due to these issues it’s ruining how good wheel should feel on here
@@TheAlexVII my wheel is actually changing feedback but then it shows 100% but for me it worked. maybe some bug for different wheels. i have g29.

One thing I’m wondering about is when you’re in cockpit view. Can you look down? Imo that’s one of the things that set TDU apart from any other game. To be able to see the whole cockpit. Look down while changing gears etc.. and looking up also, for that matter. Looking up in the sky when driving a convertible etc.. that really should be in the game imo.
P.S also, I really hope there is possibility to switch OFF traction control.

I noticed earlier while playing the demo that they got the wrong shifting animation for the 370Z.
It's not just TDU. Those things also happen in other games, but I was expecting my character to use the paddle shifters, not use the automatic gear shifter as a sequential and fully animated shifter XD
That isn’t the wrong animation, look at the shifter in detail as well on internet pics, it is a sequential shifter, however it’s incorrect as its push forward to go up a gear, and pull back to go down while tdu sc does the opposite. Though I can’t blame you, woulda expected the character to use the paddles too haha

After playing the steam demo version, I summarized few serious problems, I hope you can report/tell the Test Drive Unlimited Official to fix/improve these issues before publishing the game because it is a memorable game for all of us, we all hope to have playful and enjoyable game experiences for tdusc
1. I use gtx1650 to play mid graphic quality, the graphic performance is very poor but I still experience frequently game crashes, I don’t know why
2. The frame is very low even at lowest graphic quality , the game is seem like stuck and un-fluent.
3. There is no option for buying property, club, casino, and clothing stores which I am very disappointed because these are my favorite features from tdu2.
3. The racing experience is weird, like there are some small materials in front of the vehicle then it would automatically spin and lose control.

The real automatic gearbox system in the game is really incredible.
I sorted my steering out
Go to advance setup press it it goes blank but the right arrow will still turn it up or down when you back out you can see your changes try it
I hope they fix the free roam buildings, they all have the same room lights on. Only Certain Buildings though. Maybe im asking for too much atp, lol.

7800x3d and 4090 so I can probably go 4k60 too but still yeah, needs optimization. I could get 40ish on my 3090 5950x before this new one

I’m pretty optimistic about this, it’s not every day you get to see a AA developer do something as ambitious as this.
This demo is more worrying than some of the playtests we've been in. The cars still have no weight (litte curb hit and you spin out - at least we don't flip over anymore). / Cruising on 360 rotation is possible, but once you start pushing a bit....180 rotatiion needed, if you want to put any decent time on the board. Optimization is also worrying, no matter if you put max settings, high, medium,.....you just get 40-50 fps in the city at most....And then of course, the servers can't handle the load, at evening times, you can't get a race going, cause the Race servers are constantly on overload and give an error.......Conclusion, at this moment, it's a controller game with no optimization yet and non working servers........ I am well aware this is a demo, but seeing this 3 months before release is kinda worrying at least.

They need to wait another year game is not in a good state … same backfire sound and pops on every car, the streets look like everyone still hiding from Covid , the first person view needs a wider fov to see out your windows too, they need 360 wheel degree not 45 wheel angle, needs pedestrians, needs a lot more variations of AI traffic too many red cabs, the tire smoke is terrible,since they don’t have cosmetic body kits they should have way more performance options …, good thing I never pre ordered 😭

Not a fan on the physics at all, car does not feel good at all, FH5 physics are definitely better, especially for drifting.

Yup. Guaranteed flop incoming. This has nothing to do with TDU. It's another soulless racer. The location was probably the dumbest decision they could've made in the first place. Along with the fact that there is no housing and no clothing shops. Also player interaction seems to be limited in conparison. And we have zero information regarding consoles. The demo reviews are devastating. As expected. And I don't care what the delusional fans think. Keep telling yourself it's a good game. Cope. You can't bend reality. If so I'd already be back in February 2011, happily playing TDU 2 online.

The wheel is not great. Go back and play TDU1 to feel the difference. At 900-degrees on TDU1, it's fantastic! TDUSC needs to improve the wheel feel.
