Unpopular opinion, but one of the biggest reasons for relationship failure today is because both parties takes a back seat at the initial stage of the courtship. They're just waiting and waiting for someone to say or do something in a way that would somehow make them "Feel something" . In reality, it takes energy, generosity, curiosity and effort. They meet someone, and the date was just "normal" because nothing magical happened. 4:11 When Siyi said she's just walking though the market and taking free samples, is exactly my point. Everybody just wanna take and receive, but not give and put in some work !
y'all often tease nick but i feel like he's often the "mature" one in the group, the young friend who sometimes acts older than he actually is. he brings something different to the table haha
Situationship were never there in the academic lexicon until a few years ago. Our younger generation loves coming up with new labels for exisiting phenomenon or to explain something that deviates subtly. Situationship is just a very 'liberating' and glorifying way of labelling a "fuck buddies" relationship because fuck buddies are like 'needs' transaction between two people, and some people don't wanna see their interactions as meaningless beyond fulfilling lust. Or else it makes them seem even more lonely. Don't assume a millenials like me, especially someone who studies sexology and human sexuality, doesn't grasp it. Here's the context- 37 yrs old here and I'm married with 2 kids. I have known my wife for 15 years. To me, situationship is an excuse for avoiding commitment. It arises from the confusion of today's young who face the paradox of choices. I disagree that situationship is an option to be considered to figure out how to date or what one expects in a meaningful long term relationship.
U know it bro, I agree w everything and I’m 28 so I’m ur younger millennial brother!!! Haha. Congrats on a lifelong relationship so beautiful to hear of stories like urs, how did u do it?
@@moonknight4053 bro.. I'm not going to pretend that marriage life is wonderful all these while. There's plenty of ups and downs especially when you have children. And in my case, differences in parenting style lead to alot of conflict. But so long as you hold onto a strong belief that the person standing in of you remains the same person as before, and why you got into this marriage in the first place, then that will keep you going.
At the end of the day Lee kwan yum was right along w other generations…. “You are 29 in two years, a boyfriend is more important then a phd”. Haha damn that guy was way too intelligent, something little like that will turn any person into a damn Chad.
If I ever date a Gen Z, I think I will get too many stares from others around us simply cos I'd be at least twice her age. Never even dated a late millenial. Personally, I don't really care about her age, so long as she's mature in her thinking, open to the age gap, knowing fully what we're getting ourselves into, and we fit. I could even date someone older than me.
Dated older back in the 90s. Now both as a Millennial Some of them are just loveable to vibe with. Gen Zs or Millennials don't matter. If you vibe, we tribe.
