In the Southern USA this is called grits but we don't add tomato sauce. You can either add butter and salt and eat it that way or take cooked salted grits and add butter, an egg and cheddar cheese, bake it 45 minutes and and have baked cheese grits (this is the best way...).
Thank you ! Excited to try and make this tomorrow as we are still in lockdown
Glad it inspired you.
Mum makes it onions and tomato blitz it up with salt and pepper and on the stove then have it with pap and some sausages on top
Sounds lekker and tasty to the max. Enjoy.

Holy actual fuck… all this time, Safa’s have told me about Pap, and tried to explain it, not once, literally not one single time did anyone say: “it’s Polenta”… FFS… I’ve been thinking it’s some magical thing that only South Africa has, and that noone else can make… then you tell me it’s fucking Polenta… wait till I get to work next week… I’m gonna sort these Safa pricks out…
You added the chutney too soon. That's why it burned...
Did you taste it? How do know it was burned.
