I'd have put the vinegar on, left it for 10 minutes and then sprinkled baking soda on and scrubbed... the baking soda and vinegar neutralise each other and lose effectiveness when mixed together. The benefit of the basic baking soda is that it's abrasive, but the acid is what dissolves the crystals.

I will give this a try with GLOVES but the sponge and bucket will definitely get thrown away!
I'd keep the bucket. Just wash it thoroughly and then soak it overnight. Use it for the same purpose next time. It's not like you'll drink water from it😂

Worked great on a plastic seat however this is not very effective on a painted wooden seat. You could probably scrub until your fingers bleed, but you'll just end up scratching the heck of of the painted surface.
Wooden seat is unhygienic. Throw it out and get a plastic one. They are not expensive.

Also the stains are brown. They do not look like pee stains, I would wear gloves whenever touching a toilet to clean or wipe or two
Or an alternative method. Give the base a quick wipe every time you piss all over it 😁. Saying that....I thought I was doing the same but still have some staining so clearly I need to get the kids to do it!

No, because he mixed them together, so you are basically cleaning with water at that point.

Vinegar and baking soda neutralize one another and ruins the effectiveness of both. Vinegar and baking soda will Cra create a neutral salt.

The key is the scrubbing. I wasn't having much luck until I followed up with hydrogen peroxide. Don't give up!

I've just noticed, Ricks, you're using Bicarbonate of Soda not Baking Soda. Thought they were two different things? Anyway, I'll try it with Bicarb cos that's what I've got.

This won't work. All you're doing is scratching the plastic surface of the toilet seat so, although it might temporarily remove stains, it will also make it far more susceptible to much worse staining in the future. The only solution is to buy a new toilet seat!
Everyday make sure and sanitised your toilet and it will have a clean seat

you should no pee doesn't always come out in a straight line, it can go in multiple directions with multiple streams. even if you wipe the seat, eventually it will get bad. no matter what
