Man this brings back memories back on the dairy we used a silo but still alot of the same equipment
If only you could record the smells too. Always love the smell of fresh cut alfalfa and silage.
love seeing all them green machines working.
Good looking haylage Eli.... glad yields are good. You all must’ve gotten pretty depleted after a long winter that just kept holding on. Keep the videos coming young man you’re doing great, thanks again

Rented a bagger like that last fall, ran my cousins 7810 on it it played with it lol

Great video. Bags are nice. Hayladge smells okay, but corn silage smells the best. The rain has just been hammering us in NC Iowa the last few days.
Raining here right now
There are days that you just fight everything.
Congrats on 10,000
How many cows are you guys milking Iowa dairy boys
How often do you guys replace the knives
2-3 years
iowadairyboys really? They only last that long? Ours last about 5 yearsEdit: well maybe we got lucky or something idk
Depends on how much you chop.
may i ask what part of Iowa your at? i am in southeast Iowa and it is dry as hell cant buy a rain
Northeast. It always rains here 2 Inches yesterday and 2 last night.
Congrats on the 10k bud, does your silo work? Could you load out the rest in the silo? I know that’s not what your going to do just wondering.
It works
iowadairyboys do you guys use it anymore?
Corn silage every day
Have you guys ever considered buying a grain truck.
Not at all
great vid
How long will a bag last you when you start feeding out of it
Where is not exposed to air it will last years
Have you guys ever thought about hiring someone so that you could chop longer
What would you guys like to upgrade next on the farm for machinery
946 discbine
Could a John Deere 4430 180 horse power work on a 3970 chopper
If a 4430 has 180 horse it will without a doubt overheat
iowadairyboys it stays cool as a cold penguin
Do you rake the hay before you chop it
Not 1st crop its to thick
Our yield is gonna suck because of the dry spring👎
Do you add a preservative to the the windrows as you chop it?
No
Can you reuse the bags
no
How long of bag do you run
150 foot. Believe I said that a few times.
iowadairyboys oh I couldn't hear the video very well thank you
Oh ok
Do u have 2 wagons
3
iowadairyboys I now it
iowadairyboys do u have a siol
That chopper makes the most annoying sound ever:)
I think it sounds cool
Aha we have one Deere wagon and one Meyers wagon.... I hate the Deere wagon
Yep I ran a meyer and they are better
Cost money. We need to buy sheer pins that are hard as heck and I think that will fix the problem.
We used to run 714a not big enough
Could use more power
It’s already turned up to much. Lol drinks fuel like it’s going out of style
How can I be a farmer?
Nothing worse being broke down making hay
Broke down is the story of my life
iowadairyboys it's the nature of the beast haha
