You should listen to her songs New York, New York and Cosma Shiva which is about her daughter. Also check out her interviews on David Letterman and Merv Griffin. She's so fun to watch because these talk show hosts don't know how to handle her weirdness.
I know exactly what you mean...(feeling a little bit sorry for Letterman). I remember I was watching a talk show together with my boyfriend, back in the 80ties, with Nina as a guest. Nina was screaming and shouting (very loud), went mad and freaked out for no reason...🤦♀️ She was insane. We had to switch off the tv because her behaviour was so irritating. Although we were really rebellious teens, we couldn't stand watching Nina in a talk show 😖 ..(even "too much" for us). But nevertheless, she has a great voice, such a talent...
Nina has done everything from punk rock to opera. She has 2 albums of just Big Band songs. In fact, she was married to the conductor of this orchestra. The dot on her forehead was there as long as she was into Hinduism. She also has a couple albums of Hare Krishna music (she did a cover of George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord"). Do more Nina: "Tiere" ("Animals"), "Hand Grenade" (about Big Pharma & AIDS medications), "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick" (with Freaky Fukin' Weirdoz), and "Merry Xmas" (I know, it's early but it's a cool song). Einsturzende Neubauten and Die Krupps are some other good German bands. Also I recommend (because no other reactors have done them) My Life with The Thrill Kill Kult ("Kooler than Jesus"), Revolting Cocks ("Do You Think I'm Sexy?"), The Flying Lizards ("Money"), Klaus Nomi ("Total Eclipse"), and Rudimentary Peni. Oh, and pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaase don't pause Nina every other second.

The moment Nina enters the stage, the audience no longer knows where they ended up. That's pure shock rigidity. 😁 Nina had only one guest appearance here. It was an evening of classical music. Accordingly, the audience was also. 😁 With Nina it's like with many stars of yesteryear, all of which did not yet come from the same mainstream boredom factory, as is the case today. They all still had character. This woman is probably the most unpredictable female singer in the world. You never know what you're getting. I have been a huge fan. I've always felt though that she spent "too" much of her career focused being quirky character. Her best work has been when she sang strait...Hold Me, Seeman, this cover, etc.
