    Cilantro is great for cheating heavy metals out of the body… parsley too! I’m getting the rest of my summer stuff in the ground and hopefully planting a fun pumpkin patch tomorrow 🌱🎃🌱

    Hi Tina, how often do you use your Jobes fertile once the plants are up and growing good?

    • @BumbleBeeJunction
      @BumbleBeeJunction  2 года назад +1

      Usually lightly once a week, but I vary the amounts according to how the plants reacted tot he previous feeding... Sometime I even skip feedings if they are doing good...

    Feel the same about cilantro. Where do you get your bucket tags? Is it self watering?

    • @BumbleBeeJunction
      @BumbleBeeJunction  2 года назад +1

      The buckets are from ULine and the self watering inserts (including the tags) are from GroTechGarden...

    I've got a Cilantro story.
    We used to enjoy this Resturant called Harry's.
    He started featuring a Ti Food Thursdays.
    We all ordered delicious sounding Dishes. When they arrived we all dug in,I quickly put my fork down and went for my napkin.
    My Friends looked at me like how could you stop eating!
    I said I think they put soap in my Food😨. That's when I learned that Ti Food is peppered with Cilantro and I get a Soap reaction 😝.
    JO JO IN VT 😆💕

    Do you let the plants go to seed? The seed is called coriander. The seeds are best harvested, dried on paper towels and stored whole, in jars in a cool dark place. The flavor disapates quickly if the seeds are ground before being stored so it's better if they are kept whole in storage. You may like the flavor and aroma of the seeds much better than the plant. Crush and add a few whole seeds to a hot dry skillet and toast the seeds then add them to a cup of hot water for tea with a bit of honey and lemon if you like. You'll be suprised at the difference between the seed and the plant. Keep having fun and continue sharing. Thanks.

      You are absolutely correct, and we like to use the seeds (coriander) in our sauerkraut when we are making it Bavarian style. You are also on point with the flavor loss when grinding. It is actually oxidizing, and the more air it is exposed to (like the increased surface area after grinding) the faster it breaks down... Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment...

    I like dried cilantro. Fresh doesn’t taste like soap to me like some say but I just don’t like it that much.

      Alone, I hate it... But salsa just doesnt taste right without it, so its a necessary evil here...

    Almost was not going to watch this because I also hate the smell of cilantro, can not even eat it, tastes like soap. Can use the coriander seeds and powder, but the green plant, smells horrible.
