When I do polygel, I never take it all the way to the edge of the form (by the cuticle). When I press the form onto my nail, it'll fill in and helps it to not squish out of the form.
I kinda do the same. I put the dual form on above my cuticle then slide it down, kind of like you'd do with a polish brush. Idk if that makes sense lol
Corona virus
Good point
I have a cold and can't stop coughing, and I coughed *exactly* when you did, and when it blew the gold foil away it kind of messed with my mind for just a second, lol.
Coronavirus
Haha that sounds scary tbh
Hope you feel better♥️
IT WOULD MESS WITH MY MIND TOO LOL
Francine Laursen , Ewurasi Idun Thats not something to joke about, think about what you say.
Thank you so much for including the re-takes, struggles and learning curves you go through to get these vids filmed (especially the random little cough that made the gold leaf scatter). You're giving me hope I can get better at nails. You ROCK!
Thank you sooo much 🖤
Emily Susannah I love you keep in mistskes, u showed and taught me how to correct alot
@@suzannelasage6503 a lot** 2 words lol with love
EnchantedAlana I totally agree with what you said x
"Its fine.... Everythings fine" my life motto. 😂😂😂 I'm so glad you keep it real. You dont edit out the whoopsies and I appreciate that. Because it helps me with my "omg wtf did I do" moments lol.
Agreed 💯💅
the clamp is to be used like a pinching tool after it comes out of the lamp (while it’s still warm) , if i’m not wrong? x
Head in the clouds yup was coming to say the same if nobody else did😊
Head in the clouds the clamp is the pinching tool
It actually holds the dual form on the nail while its curing x
It hold the dual form while curing and can also be used for pinching
I said same, but I only knew watching another video lol. I love her videos
Most relatable youtuber in the "nail community". Its not always perfection. But i always love it!
Could you do sailor moon inspired nails?
That’s a good idea!
@@EmilySusanah YES please!!!
Yasssssss!
Bubbles hi
Yes please
With dual forms and the clips, it helped for me when I didn't put the polygel all the way to the edge of the form - and when placing the form place it about 5mm away from cuticle and when placed there you can slide it back towards the cuticle and that way I get no 'squishing out' 😁❤️ Xx
For it being a 'polygel' kit I'd think it would have more polygel than polish lol
Mandi Coleman it’s probably cheaper for the company-
😍😍
it was probably gel polish
Just u
I got the Modelones kit and it came with 8 different polgels! All gorgeous so I'm obsessed! They even had a couple ombre colors and a Milk color, which I could use for a Milk bath set! I'm just starting out, and these polygel make my nails look professionally done. ❤️💕
I think you still put too much product in and that's why it squishes out :/ great review otherwise
You're actually not supposed to use a clamp to squish it down. That's why it's bleeding out
@@chalawhina exactly. That clamp is a pinching tool to make your C curve more extreme and make a slimmer nail.
@@Nails_By_Kimberlee no it isnt. Theres a c curve clamp for that
@@floridagirl386 that clamp is absolutely not supposed to be used to clamp the dual form down lol. That doesn't even make sense. Polygel is made to be very sticky. If your dual form that's filled with polygel won't stick to the nail, then the dual form hasn't been sized correctly. That little clip is absolutely used to create a deeper C curve. There are different forms that a pinching tool can take and this is one of them. I've seen professional nail techs use them. Never seen a professional nail tech use anything to clamp a dual form down onto the nail.
@@Nails_By_Kimberlee idk what else to tell ya then lol. It absolutely is for that & not all pg is made equally. Coscelia pg is extremely soft, soft like sour cream. Yayoge is really hard & you dont need these clips for that brand...
The polygel spilled out the side and didn’t cure properly because you are only meant to use a small amount rather than the long snake you did 😂 x
x_k_ wilkie_x she’s trying though
Agreed😂
Well I have multiple polygels from AliExpress and none of them is like that. Maybe its the lamps fault..
x_k_ wilkie_x I agree with you. The amount she used was too much
Actually it did not cure because the polygel shes using is pigmented in a bad way, it wouldnt able penetraite all the way through
I tried gold foil for the first time on my current set and boooooy let me tell you how hard I struggled! I wanted to cry because it was sticking to every nail I didnt want it to 😭
I was only gonna put foil on one of them but the foil had a different plan lmao
Oh no no no! Oh my god. I was cringing seeing you clip down the poly gel. That’s to pinch the sides, so they can look like your other hand, not to smash down Lmaoo
I saw an ad from a similar company (probably from the same supplier) it is intended for holding the form.
Lobster Without a life it really isnt
The clips are meant to do a C curve on the tip of the nail
Nicole, yesss thank u for noticing that! What a cringe!
So how are you supposed to use them? Like where do you put them?
Your lip color, hair color, makeup combo is on pointttt
Edit: lmfao I laughed so hard when you coughed and the gold leaf went flying 😂
OMG. I was actually crying when you were trying to use the clamp. You’re meant to clamp it to the sides of your nail to make a nicer shape ;))
Yeah like she doesn’t need to hold the form in place. She needs to watch some videos lol
She is using the clamp right, it’s not a pinching tool.
I just really don't like the shape the nails turn out to be with ANY dual forms! I have yet to see Anybody pull them off where they actually look like an acrylic set . But as far as dual forms go YOU ROCKED IT!!! AS ALWAYS !!!😘
Yeah, they are all pretty much the same. Have you watched some of the 'hack' dual form videos where they use clear full cover press on nails as a dual form? I think babygirl nails made one, in a long coffin - they came out looking pretty good, same with NailCou when she tried the dual form tip, but then she had to build the rest of the nail herself of course ☺️
Longhairprettynails does an excellent job on her polygel nails..
YES Longhairprettynails does Awesome polygel nails!! Love her videos
@longhairprettynails does great ones 😌🙌🏼
I actually love them!! You can also make your own shape or use a nail form to make a shape
The only way I found to prevent the bulk under the nail is to put on tips first and don't cut them down until after you have applied your gel. A little gel goes a long way. You put enough for at least 2 nails :) Trial and error. I love the way you work through your issues. :)
Honestly love the face cam with nail videos 🙌🏻
This is literally the most relatable. I loved it even with the mess ups here and there. This was the realest for us beginners
Yes! More kits. My favorite. I always get carried away and ruin my sets too😂
Finally something on RUclips I actually want to watch 😍😍😍😍😍
Yessss! I love these videos! Keep testing as many kits as possible! Lol Your videos are what got me to start doing my own nails. Haven’t tried Polygel yet but I’m going to binge watch a bunch of your Polygel vids to find a good kit to buy. This one doesn’t seem that bad!! ♥️♥️
I've literally watched all your nail videos and you've given me the courage to start trying my own the polygel seems like the best solution for a beginner like me WISH ME LUCK LOVE YOUR VIDEOS CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ❤
This is definitely a troubleshooting vid, put too much and this will happen. Thanks for showing us !
The clip is used for your tip, when you first take it out of the lamp and it's still warm you place the clip on until it cools down and hardens up. It's to help create a c-curve.
Jennifer Stelle not this clip, the listings for just this one show it being used now I’m using it. It’s clear the polygel can cure through it!
When that gold foil flew 😅
Nails By Lizzeth - That is SO what I would do!!! When it happened I said, “That’s me.” 😂
I have a collection of Coscelia gel polishes from Wish that came with an LED lamp and other cute accessories. I love how your nails look by the way Emily! 💕💕💕💕💕😍😍😍😍😍
Another fabulous video!! Really appreciate you sharing all of the info you do. You’ve truly helped me with my nail journey into gel, polygel, and adding extensions at home. Thank you!!!
Thank you very much 🖤
this is the most realest polygel testing videos I've seen so far. thanks for that!
YYYAAASSS ❤️❤️❤️
These nails look sooooo gorgeous like seriously girl these with silver instead of gold could literally be my nails for my wedding!!!! I’m getting married in October. I keep going all over the place with what to do for my nails. So my colors are blush, sage, and silver. So thoughts or options right now for my nails are All white, blush and silver, all silver, French tip, all blush. And these are all I’ve personally thought of......tooooo many options! Lol
What about a French tip with blush instead of white? Or even the ombre french tip style with blush? 😍😍
Just lmao when the cough sent the gold foil flying! 😂
Angela Pate 😂👍
I actually love your holo table so much
That gold foil on black nails would be devine!!! ♥
holy your voice is literally so soothing like i’m actually falling asleep😂
I bought the same little gem kit with the golden charms in it a while back. It's a good thing you top coated it, I didn't and the gold somehow washed off to this icky coppery color after a day or two. But you made the set look super cute! I absolutely love that pink color
Gold foil when she coughed was like: I ain’t getting corona.😂
This is the first polygel kit I ever bought, well this brand, I had no idea how bad this kit was until I spent money on a proper decent brand 🤣 I use the clear gel from this set for charms and that's about it now 😊
What brand do you use and where do you get it?
god emily does thee best nails
😂😂😂😂
Emily: cough cough 😷
Gold foil: 💨
I was laughing so hard. First the cough and the gold flake flying and then loosing the damn gem😂 awesome video as always!
😶 (Watching the efile run over the cuticle area excess product...)
🤤 Sooooo satisfying.
I have absolutely no talent when it comes to nails...my favorite polish is clear ..but gahd damn do I love watching this girl do her thing! lol. I love everything she's got going on!
I'm not sure how best to describe this well, but next time you put the polygel into the nail form, leave about 3rd of a cm space at end where your cuticle with be, and a couple mms either side at the edges.
when you apply the nail form, press down lightly til the polygel squishes and flows to edges of nail and cuticle, not over and outside like above! it takes practice to apply the right amount of polygel so that when you squish the form down it fill perfectly to the edge without overlapping.
once you've perfected that, you can "pull" the nail form up the nail a little, away from cuticle towards the nail tip. this gives a beautiful flawless slope from the thicker center of the nail to the cuticle area. If you get really good at this, you shouldn't have to file the nail afterwards to shape it.
To stop the gel from bulging out at the underside of the nail where your natural nail ends, just flip for finger over and drag that excess polygel up the nail form. Make sure not to make it too thin. you should go further then the nail itself, other wise youll end up with a hollow tip that looks nice from the top but is really weak. the excess gel you dragged away will create a jagged super thin piece of gel at the tip of your nail after you've cured it, but its much easier to file that off then it is to file the underside of your nail to try thin the polygel out at the tip.
Wow from it kinda starting out as a hot mess...you really made it work out 🔥🔥🔥 good job emily!!! I wanna start doing my own nails now, I hate driving out 30 minutes away
I’ve filed my tips too then and just took a regular nail form to reform the tips. For anyone that has messed up like she did by breaking the tip.
Hi lovely, try getting the Nail Foils, they come on a roll in silver, gold, or other colours, ebay do them, Do all your nails as you did, when you come to do your top coat " dont " wipe off sticky layer after curing your first layer off this helps grip the Foils as you lightly touch your nails, then apply Top Coat again, wipe sticky layer off your final Top Coat layer. Xx
I bought this kit but with only a set of gel polishes and a lamp and other necessities to do your nails. It was 20 something dollars and I would say it's pretty good quality, just that that didn't have many colors that went up my alley.
The thin files r good for getting between the nail n nail fold😉 Just put ur index finger out the file to give it a bit of strength
Yes girl. I love watching your nail videos. You inspire me 😊
I love watching your nail videos, i do my nails at the same time
I bought the pink belle nail drill that you posted a year ago still going strong, and have bough the holo power from wish that you posted love it. I do polygel nails with tips i hate dual forms
The nails on your other hand are so gorgeous I found it hard to focus on what you were doing ahaha 😂 but seriously you are so talent I love all your video !!
I totally understand what u meant with the curved dual forms dude wow I felt that in my soul
ahhh you look so cuuteee! i love your makeup in this video 💖
Thank you!! 🖤
Emily Susanah you’re welcome!! the nails turned out cute too 😊
I got the non-ploy gel gel nail kit from the same company and I dunno if I’m messing it up or if it’s not a great set but it peels sooooo easily even when I try to avoid cuticles and everything else you’re supposed to do, wiping the polish (it doesn’t say it’s non wipe and it’s always sticky) removes like half the polish instead of just getting rid of the stickiness, I’m curing it for ages too so it can’t be that, I’m still trying to work with it all but gah xxx
Your actually the best at doing nailsssss 🤩can you try nails and you could try make nails that you have a photo so you would maybe draw it if it’s one of a pet or family or something if you could do that? Or you could try and get one of the nail art printer? They’re so cool but they’re really expensive x
These turned out so cute! I’ve done a set similar before! I’m shocked it only came with 3 tubes of polygel 😝 At least you got a nice lamp out of the set!!
I ugly laughed when you coughed the foil away 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 those little charms were adorable ❤️
I absolutely love the way you film these now, I just received my polygel, I actually splurged and got the gelish. 🤞 With your help in these videos I can make it happen 😉
The first time I saw you years ago you had order a kit from wish and had same problem you have came so far congratulations
A $300 polygel kit? That's really expensive for a polygel kit! These turned out really cute
I’ve found using the spatula end works great to gently press the duel form when I put the finger in the lamp they come out great 😊😊😊
Can you please please please do a nail supplies collection/organization video!!!!!!
I have those clear clamps i bought them from wish I wasn’t pleased with them I bought them when polygel first came out there was 10 in the pack not one of them had any grasp so none of the gel worked for me, these clasps have improved though over time I bought the metal ones that look like a paper board clip they really are very good I bought mine from eBay they hold the tips in place so well and firm so you won’t see that squishing out at the end of the tip bit, the new clips really make a difference & once you have the clips in place dip your brush in slip solution and wipe the cuticle area before you go in the lamp so you won’t have gel on your cuticle, I love pink gel polish & gold foil the two go together so well, you did a good job they look very pretty nice shape and length👍🏽🥰
I'm glad I read the comments now I know what the clip thingy is for☺️
Is there any way you can show us how to attach those non-flatback gems?
PLEASE link your lashes that you’re wearing in this video!! I’ve been looking for some dramatic lashes like these and I can’t find any anywhere! I tried looking on your Instagram but I couldn’t find them 💔 thank u🥺
I got a very similar kit awhile ago from wish. Exact same brands you are using. I dont mind it at all, I use tips usually.
“it’s fine everything’s fine” the exact words i say before a mental breakdown
I prefer the arch of those to the straight nails. The curve looks much more natural
would love to see a video doing clusters with pointed back gems!
I actually really like these!! The pink and gold theme is everything!! ❤❤
I got three sets of nails from that same kit you’ve just got to be mindful of the quantities of the amount you use x
I think the oozing put must have been from the intense arch of the nail. But you’re seriously slaying this set
This actually looks pretty decent for wish! Good for a beginner. It sucks it took a crazy long time for it to ship. Thanks for reviewing these kits so we know what's good and what isn't+
Can you test Dip Powder kit from Amazon? 💓
Which one!
Try curing the underside of your nail as well. That should help when the polygel is opaque.
I was screaming through my screen "On your pinky look on your pinky"!!!!! 😂 😂 😂 😂
I don’t know why RUclips recommended your videos to me, but I’m glad they did, I’m hooked
I started off with those gel polishes from wish and I love them I’m still using them I’ve had them for about four years because I’ve got two or three of them myself and I got my UV lamp from wish it’s a son V 5plus 80 W and it’s amazing
Just a tip: when u apply the Polly gel do a thin layer on the base of the nail form where it would apply to ur finger. If it’s thick or evenly spread it would push out because u have to press the form against ur finger
The nails turned out so freaking cutee
Can you do a video on your nail drills? I’m a beginner and want to purchase an inexpensive nail drill :) thank you!
I don't even wear nails but I'm addicted to your channel
I have never done my nails with gel or poly gel but I keep watching your videos and now I want to buy this and do mine. I just hate the price even tho it is a good deal for getting everything with it
I watched a naio nails video and she said that if you don’t size the dial form properly that will happen. She said if you size the dial form completely flat to your nail then you didn’t size it correctly. If you size it to where there’s some space between your nail and the form then it is correct.
your makeup and hair looks absolutely gorgeous!!!😊😊
The clamp is for you to curve the polygel to the nail so it will help you take off the dual form. Oh life hack put a tiny little bead of polygel in the dual form but in the middle so you can get the nail could be stronger and the undercurve will be thinner
No Judgement!!!!!
I think the clamp is for creating a more defined “c” curve of the nail after you cute it
This is my ABSOLUTE favorite hair color on you. It looks so good!! 😍😍😍
This girl really needs 1 million subs cause she is amazing I don't think she gets noticed enough. Love u 😆😆🥰
I listen to your videos while doing my college work, your voice is calming. Thank you for posting! Also love your nailart haha
I'm having an awful day but your videos always cheer me up. Thank you!
I’m so glad I can help ❤️
Yay yay!! My favorite time of day 💕 you look gorgeous 😍
I've seen a few Pros use the poly gel. Check out Nail Career Education and Long Hair Pretty Nails. Always start w/ small amount of gel and build and neither uses that clip the way you used it.
I finally got my polygel nails on and they look half way decent thanks to all your videos!!!!!
the clamp is used for pinching the nail to give it a stronger "c curve"
O my god u literally used half the bottle of poly gel on one nail 😂
And also she said that if you star at the cuticle and press it down from there and apply a little pressure it is also put in correctly
Omg “I love the way gold foil works but it’s-“ *coughs it away* 😂😂😂 I hollered
You're so pretty and talented 💕
