As a commercial stone mason, who works in restoration, I saw something that might be a good way to help sell the reality of the stairs. Stone steps, when they are used heavily, tend to smooth out in the middle from the foot traffic. Given the aluminum that they were wrapped in a pass with a finger/coffee stir stick/popsicle stick in the middle to flatten them a bit, might work to show that wear. Beautiful work on the corridors. Have you had any issues with cardboard warping on the tiles you're making? I'm considering using an MDF board bases of all of mine to try and avoid that. Again, awesome work.
Wyloch, by profession I'm actually an archaeologist, and I've been inside many sites built out of basalt and tufa and other volcanic materials, as well as working inside old lava flows. I must say, you've perfectly nailed the color palette and even texture of those igneous rocks in your design. Also, just great work in general, keep it up!
Yes! Thanks once again Wyloch for giving me a D&D crafting series to watch that I can just tune out from the outside world and lose myself in for 20-30 minutes at a time. 👍
My man you are 100% the exclusive reason i got into dnd. I stumbled upon one of your videos when my youtube autoplayed and im a big crafter so you can imagine youve single handedly created a large new hobby for me. Thank you so much!!!
Just as a note, with room 24, you really don't want to shrink that room...several of the other encounter rooms are also not ones you want to shrink. The main reason is that with several of them, part of the balancing of the encounters depends heavily on the room for it.
The only thing I dislike about your videos is that they have and end! I could watch you build stuff all day, super inspiring! Can't wait for the next part.
I love these. You had a joke awhile back about fully rebuilding undermountain, so this is fun to see these massive builds escalate. Looking forward the new episodes
With all the different types of videos you make... They're all amazing, but the themed module builds, (this, ToH, etc.) have to be my favorites! You are one of the premier crafters!
I’m hooked on the new dungeon series already. Looking forward to the next episode. I like the earth colors for the floor. I didn’t catch the name of the final highlight: Barn-something??
Amazing. Id like to see some simple and multifunctional like the Caves of Chaos. There is some variety. Maze, Temple, Owlbear cave with pools, Ogre Lair. And could still be used for other adventures
My first book intro into D&D 5e Was Tales from the Yawning Portal, had a great DM that unfortunately moved before we got to finish out our adventure and before WPM, sad I didn't get to play out my Cleric's adventure. It was by fair my favorite time spent each Wednesday at my local game store.
The muddy floors and stagnant water looks gross in a good way. I also really like your new take on 2.5 D stairs. It looks like you will be able to fit White Plume Mountain on your gaming table. That should keep you from having to touch up your garage floor for the end display. This one is close to my heart as I have run that 3rd edition module that you are using for reference. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the kayak room. (I mean take your time and move at what you deem an appropriate pace but I anticipate it greatly)
I really appreciate condensing the map. In terms of what the adventure wants and acrually needs, that's a great idea. If it isn't for tactical effect, the extra space is just for its own sake.
So pumped for this one. I remember suggesting White Plume Mountain but never thought he'd actually do it! Wonder if I'd be pressing my luck suggesting Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth! That final room would be a glorious thing!
Having enjoyed Tomb of Horrors so much I am strapping myself in for this one. I am fortunate to own the original T of H and it definitely enhanced my enjoyment of the series. I will have to get a hold of this adventure for the same reason.
I absolutely love the precious moment of a project when : WEll, he is just dabbing paint in there, everything doesnt look nice. **Drybrush**. NOW. NOW ITS AWESOME.
Your build of the Tomb of Horrors inspired me to build White Plume Mountain right about the time you came back from hiatus (which is also when I found your super amazing channel!) When you announced that you were gonna build WPM I thought "Oh yea the race is ON!" Well here you are, already beating me before I have learned how to make a single tile XDDDDD. I am so looking forward to seeing more of these videos, keep up the amazing work!
I feel where your confusion came from with room 4. The description states the items will drop into the muck below. When I read that I was thinking the water too. Maybe the floor is still moss and slime (not aggressive slime) covered? Maybe a simple spray of matt paint can resolve the happy little accident... though I just read you'd already redid the room! LOL Love your vids! Keep them coming!
"Bigness" lol. I love it. I have the same problem with my favorite 1st edition modules. I've been working on a Temple of Elemental Evil VTT conversion that uses the same approach (stripping down the "bigness").
Fantastic job! It looks like you really went all out on this one. Magnets, resin, and foil textures. I’ll be posting my Wyloch tiles on Facebook in a few weeks. Maybe you’ll get some ideas?
Bill I love your new look for your dungeon tiles. Good job. One other thing and I know you are falling the module because I checked. Is that spiral staircase it goes around in the opposite direction of most real life spiral staircases. Just thought I'd point that out. Since majority of people are right handed and if you're going down a spiral staircase clockwise you could have an encounter were everyone has to roll at a disadvantage.
Ooh, I like these new hallways. Also, cool that you're doing another big project. I though you would be burned out for a while and doing smaller pieces after finishing the tomb of horrors
18:46 You could also have used Popsicle sticks cut to size and slotted into the wall to help secure the overhang for a greater degree of structural integrity.
I love the white plume mountain, probably the best game I’ve run. It would be cool if after this project you did Dungeon of the Mad Mage, it’s huge and very cool.
That was Krylon Matte Black spray and not Flat Black, hence the shine. I use Krylon Matte White for my Tau and they look great with red and grey trim and panels. It is sort of like Satin colors. Love your videos dude!
Ah excellent 🙂 your right, these new tiles look really cool and it's nice to see a new method. I'll be honest, when I saw the sphinx I hoped it was a new scratch build of yours with some fancy new techniques. 3d printing makes sense though.
These are such amazingly inspirational videos! The aluminum foil stone texture looks awesome and seems really easy. My only complaint is you're screwing up all the excuses I've made for not tackling the projects I keep dreaming up.
Hey this is my sphynx !
^^
I'm glad you like my miniatures, I came across your channel by chance and I really like what you do !
Here we go again!

Again, awesome work.
good suggestion on the stairs
I usually use a mix of mostly pva glue or mod podge and a bit of black paint. Helps seal the cardboard and lessens warping in my experience

As a 3rd party reading your post I just want to say what an awesome compliment!
As the 4th party reading, i also compliment this compliment.
I'm at a party and I need to know what you guys want on the pizza
@@Razsteroid Sausage, peppers, and onions with extra sauce would be great, thanks.
Never seen a ceiling in dungeon tiles before! Very cool
Am I the only one who directly imagined that sphinx playing with the glass spheres like a cat, when seeing that thumbnail ? XD
This is one way to distract a Sphinx.
Well it should...
Still so impressed you're going from one right to the other, and I am so happy to see my two favorite modules get this treatment!
That corridor paint job was supreme!
Yes! Thanks once again Wyloch for giving me a D&D crafting series to watch that I can just tune out from the outside world and lose myself in for 20-30 minutes at a time. 👍

I don’t even play D&D but I could watch you make realms and worlds all day long.
A master in his element! This series will be amazing!!!
The only thing I dislike about your videos is that they have and end! I could watch you build stuff all day, super inspiring! Can't wait for the next part.
i have never seen someone use tinfoil on tiles like that, those are STUNNING! you make me so inspired to craft new stuff!
Nothing like an epic crafting journey with Wyloch. Love it!
That aluminiminiminimum texture on the walls works so well. Those 2.5D steps are so cunning 😎😍🤩
I haven't been this excited for a vid to come out on RUclips....ever.
Ohboyohboyohboy... This is gonna be great!
That wet on wet blending with black and medium gray made a really nice obsidian looking texture.
Hell yeah - So happy to see this beast of a project get started so quickly.
I love these. You had a joke awhile back about fully rebuilding undermountain, so this is fun to see these massive builds escalate.
Looking forward the new episodes
Definitely glad I waited until at work (Monday morning) to view this - watching on a tablet just wouldn't have cut it.
This reminds me of my old keep on the shadow fel that took up my whole 2 car garage... Man those were the days....
I miss playn D&D my friend...!!!
With all the different types of videos you make... They're all amazing, but the themed module builds, (this, ToH, etc.) have to be my favorites! You are one of the premier crafters!

FolkArt 'Barn Wood'.
Amazing. Id like to see some simple and multifunctional like the Caves of Chaos.
There is some variety. Maze, Temple, Owlbear cave with pools, Ogre Lair. And could still be used for other adventures
So satisfying to see someone actually make every aspect of a certain dungeon!
I don't play d&d but I absolutely love the esthetic in table top builds.
Looks awesome. One of the first modules I ever played back in the 80s. Can't wait to see the 'inverted ziggurat'!
I had a blast running white plume mountain. Can’t wait to see how this turns out
Just when I thought you had hit the pinnacle with your last module build, here you go again!
I like the steps that lead up to that dry hallway and door. Tres cool.
My first book intro into D&D 5e Was Tales from the Yawning Portal, had a great DM that unfortunately moved before we got to finish out our adventure and before WPM, sad I didn't get to play out my Cleric's adventure. It was by fair my favorite time spent each Wednesday at my local game store.
love the new tile design - looks way more realistic and easy to make

This is Going to be Another Great Project! Thank you for doing this Dungeon it's another classic.
Dude, you're an artist, your creations bring the imagery to life
So pumped for this one. I remember suggesting White Plume Mountain but never thought he'd actually do it!
Wonder if I'd be pressing my luck suggesting Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth! That final room would be a glorious thing!
I love all of this but seeing you do the stairs was like an "of course!" Moment for me. Thanks!
Tiles look great, and I love the disco balls / spheres. Nice beginning to a great build.
Your build of the Tomb of Horrors inspired me to build White Plume Mountain right about the time you came back from hiatus (which is also when I found your super amazing channel!)

Didn't you learn your lesson with TOH? Oh well, I'm here for ya brother!
White Plum Mountain is one of my Favorite modules thank you for doing the series
I have to say, thank you!! You're projects and ideas were the ones that helped me start crafting for my D&D campaing... Your work is trully amazing!!!
That condensed version is really well realised!
Excited to see this one. Shocked to see you go gridless, but it does make crafting simpler.
Aye, it's gridless but still adhering to 5' in game = 1-1/4" on the tile.
"Bigness" lol. I love it. I have the same problem with my favorite 1st edition modules. I've been working on a Temple of Elemental Evil VTT conversion that uses the same approach (stripping down the "bigness").
Wyloch you absolute MADMAN. I'M SO EXCITED for this whole project!
Yesssss! White Plume Mountain is my favorite dungeon by far
Fantastic job! It looks like you really went all out on this one. Magnets, resin, and foil textures. I’ll be posting my Wyloch tiles on Facebook in a few weeks. Maybe you’ll get some ideas?
Looks absolutely stellar so far! It always astounds me how creative you are with selling textures, fantastic job!
Bill I love your new look for your dungeon tiles. Good job. One other thing and I know you are falling the module because I checked. Is that spiral staircase it goes around in the opposite direction of most real life spiral staircases. Just thought I'd point that out. I am beyond hyped for this! So glad you decided to do another dungeon build!
oh nice! I like the idea of revisiting the OG modules as you continue to create content.
These building maps for modules series you got going are super awesome man and you seem to enjoy them like we enjoy watching them lol Win win I hope
So happy you are making this, this is one of my all time favorite adventures in D&D.
One of the best modules and an excellent choice for a build. Love it so far
Ooh, I like these new hallways. Also, cool that you're doing another big project. I though you would be burned out for a while and doing smaller pieces after finishing the tomb of horrors
Straight into another dungeon! Off to a great start
The master is at it again. Glorious.
18:46 You could also have used Popsicle sticks cut to size and slotted into the wall to help secure the overhang for a greater degree of structural integrity.
As ever, superbly realized and hugely inspirational! Thank you!
OUT-STANDING!!!
Thank you.
Your work should be exhibited in an art gallery. Please get an agent, and share in person. Brilliant!
I'm so glad you decided to do this
Love it! Those new hallways look awesome. Can't wait to watch this project progress!
I loooove this textured tile finish! It looks spectacular. Thanks for the vid.
I love the white plume mountain, probably the best game I’ve run. It would be cool if after this project you did Dungeon of the Mad Mage, it’s huge and very cool.
You must be crazy! 23 levels of gargantuan sized maps? Sign me up
Man, this channel is cozy.
Try to be
Always good to see your ideas! That was a nice start to White Plume Mountain
Great start to another amazing project! I love the new tile/floor look, visually stunning!
Looks really good, I love the simplicity of those stairs.
I swear, you're a legend man. Another mega project!
Don’t play DnD
Don’t make models
Don’t paint miniatures
Still can’t wait for this series 🥰😍🥰😍
Love the stone corridors! Looking forward to making some.
Fantastic work as always, the paint job on the Sphynx is great!
Awesome! Thanks man.
What a gorgeous mat
Love it. The hewn stone from the foil looks fantastic.
tiles look fantastic
"I'm gonna have to find a way to live the rest of my life with this." 🤣
AWESOME! Love it! I absolutely appreciate your approach to making the 3d tiles! Can you share a pdf version of the consolidated map?
'I need a new megaproject to occupy my time...' Like he hasn't got other stuff to attend to at his secret hideout!
Fantastic! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build, and then I want to see you do the Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan :-)
These are such amazingly inspirational videos! The aluminum foil stone texture looks awesome and seems really easy. My only complaint is you're screwing up all the excuses I've made for not tackling the projects I keep dreaming up.
Enjoyed the video, got the imagination flowing to paint and craft again, thanks!
Oh the potential for shenanigans when you can start mixing both sets together!
Side-thought - sphinx mini would look good in a flame scheme, to make it a special kind of creeture.
This is exciting. Loving those halls!
I want that elemental sculpt. Its beautiful
another great video. love the aluminum/wet blend technique
These Corridors are incredible
These tiles look really cool!
