I'm Trying New Stuff Again... Non-Linear Weathering On The BMR-3M
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 авг 2024
- My friends, tonight we're trying a completely different approach to weathering. Last week's post-shading and pre-dusting gave us a very good foundation for what's coming up next. We're going to use lots of well known techniques, but we'll switch their order so the whole workflow will be smoother and more enjoyable!

Disclaimer: Most of the weathering products I use in my videos such as Ammo by Mig Jimenez, AK-Interactive, Wilder and VMS were sent to me for free, but with no obligations to promote them. I received a lot of them a long time ago, even before I started this channel. VMS is also one of my Patreon supporters. Being independent from big and exclusive sponsorship deals and showing you a wide variety of different brands and products was one of the founding ideas of this channel and I will always stand by this.

"Non-Linier Weathering" - you know you're a God, when you can create catchy technical names like that!
Everyone can, it makes you feel more special 😆
In your second language.
I mean Rinaldi started talking about this 5 years ago.
@@AdamMann3D - I have all of his (Rinaldi's) books. Wish he'd start a channel.
Petition for the diorama to be the BMR-3M hitting a mine, that explodes in front of it
Oh yes, that would also make a lot of nice workwith smoke and perhaps even led light lightning and electricity in the smoke of expanding explosion?
Or after explosion, ton of dirt and dust over the model.
We used to do this to our old models as kids. Only we would use firecrackers. it was a one time show.
Yes it would look great
After 50 years in this hobby, it is great to learn new things and making more progress. Thank you very much. 👍💎💎💎💎💎
Congrats.. you finally put a title to the way i have painted for 20 years! Thanks for that..! :) I despise the Step by Step, paint by numbers methodology that a lot of modelers cling to and always find myself switching back and forth between mediums and painting things "out of order" for the sake of speed and creativity. I love this video and found a lot of inspiration in it! Keep up the good work.
The tried and tested method is a great way to understand techniques, how everything works together and how not to skip important steps, but yeah, it's just so time consuming... why keep doing it like that when it can be done faster with similar results :)
Normal people: Yay, friday, weekend!
Me: Yay, friday, a new nightshift video!
same tbh
Hey nightshift- can you try to make a "wet" tank? A tank that is actively in the rain with raindrops and wet/muddy texture. No idea if it's possible but I thought you might be interested in the idea.
I can't believe how regularly your painting ability blows me away. Can't wait to try your techniques for myself!
Who could not like you videos. So far all but 1 scale modeller on RUclips (that I've watched) has referred to your work
You've just gotta love those 'Happy Accidents'!.
Just watched the first one, nice timing.
Maybe showing it detonating a mine, there is a picture of a diorama with a king tiger rolling over one. Maybe do a small one with a dirt explosion, could also add a soldier being shocked by it.
Love the videos
I wish you posted more often but at the same time I have something to look forward to each friday
You, sir, have an incredible talent for bringing life to lumps of plastic.
Thank you , Uncle Martin .
Really looks awesome and in 5 days wow. Can't wait for the next episode.
Uncle nightshift thanks for this amazing birthday gift!!!!
This is what Friday nights were made for. In the current climate with Covid, I really look forward to your next videos. Amazing work!
Great to see the new processes being worked out! Non-linear weathering brings a tasty look to the model!
I like that "mA friends" in the beginning
The modelling man descends to give the monke forbidden knowledge
Nice job keep it up
Hard works, hard result on hard vehicle! Looks great! All the best for You! ;)
Nice video Nice work!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
It looks always so perfect and easy when you share your way of weathering to us, but when i do it, well.............it looks different hehehehe
Night shift is trying new stuff! And I'm learning new stuff. Thank you Martin. I'm here, I'm loving every minute of all your videos.
Enjoying all your videos, thanks so much.
Uncle Night Shift is zooming through this! The world’s slowest modeler no more!!!
You want a channel you have to build fast, he has totally adapted to fast builds for you guys. You can sense the pressure in his voice.
5 day's that's a new start for more fantastic video's from our favorite Uncle Night Shift 😊 looking sweet as always!
My friend, just purchased my first armor kit after watching you for a while ( a former exclusively auto/plane modeler) . You opened up a facet of modeling that exactly suits my aims. Many happy modeling moments, my friend.
I summoned this video by spamming F5 button tirelessly!
You're welcome! :D
Nice job mate
lol
@@TomekHejmo Don't slam it too much or I'll run out of content 😆
@@NightShiftScaleModels Too late mate, I'm so sorry!
I never made any models but I still love your videos
Friday night here again all ways a pleasure to watch tanks sorry I mean thanks😂.
Love the Bob Ross reference!
Great video. I just ordered my first model paint supplies. A Vallejo basic paint set, six detail model paint brushes, and an EVOIO painting stand base with clip sticks. I’m currently working on my second model. A Snap Tite A-10 Warthog. No painting, just stickers. It’s a level 2. Going for a level 3 model next. So I should have my supplies by then. Looking forward to my first paint job. Thanks again😀
You can hear the excitment on uncles voice about this one. And yeah, this model is coming out beautifuly! Amazing work!
It feels pretty good not spending 2 months on one model 😁
Been watching your videos for a long time now. It’s been a great source for me to understand the how and why. The time has come for me where I can devote some time and money into this now. I’ve been wanting to build a diorama for an M270A1 for a long time. It sounds like a lot for a beginner, but that’s how I get into all my hobbies, headfirst.
You are getting through this model very quickly. I wanna ask what's next? You should go back to WW1. I suggest the char 2c Meng model. Its huge!!!
Beautiful model outstanding piece of work
Amazing work. You can see a clear "Wilde" influence and a path of his own.
You‘re the Master of Desaster ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great video as always
Someone I know uses cat whiskers for antennas, they are long, thin, and they arent brittle like plastic alternatives.
Michelangelo of scale modeling. How easy u do it :) Oh sorry, thats not scale modeling, that is real piece of art :)
I just love your work, its really inspiring!
Love it! Weathering is my favorite part
Awesome as always!
Rust washes are probably more subtle on green because red and green are complementary colors; the green showing through the red rust turns it more gray.
Brilliant stuff 👌🏻
I'm loving this build
Dude putting out top quality content 💯
like seriously
dude, that looks crazy good!
Love it man keep up the good work
bonjour ............comme d habitude c est "AMAZING" merci pour ce partage
Awesome as usual! Thanks.
Another masterpiece, under our eyes! 👍👍
always good to try new things
Its so realistisc the same whit the theets they were gray so it lokkes like it was used and the paint were lost wow love yours video
You can try to make son damage (like the T-80 hited by an RPG) to the metal wheels? , because that is the part where the mines explode
Master work
You know, most times I have no idea what he's talking about (I'm not into such works) but I still like it XD
This is great. now i know how im going to paint my BMP-2 this weekend
Amazing you could manage all this in just 5 days. I would tone down the aluminum chipping with some grime though, it´s too bright.
It'll be done in the final video :)
That day of the week yesssss
Meanwhile I am starting my first serious attempt at Armour modeling. Got the Jagdpanther, and I am crazy and I choose an hard edge camouflage that will be painted by an brush because I got inspired by your "Rutsher" salamander tank video. Anyways a great vid Martin, glad to be subscribed, many techniques of yours I will hopefully use in my Armour modeling "career" wish me luck.
Looking good
Splendid model, bravo.
Me trying to figure out, how did he do that? NightShift: It’s just that easy.
*me furiously watching his videos over and over*
This whole approach is like a system of sorts, so it's good to watch (or re-watch) the previous episode with pre-weathering, it all works together!
@@NightShiftScaleModels and then rewatch again, and then again. Then maybe test on a model and pretend your models are mine and i did a great job
I think it comes from lots of practice and experimentation. And a good eye for detail and color, I think.
@@CaptSpeirsB744 yeah for sure. I will say his videos are a huge inspiration for stepping up my detail game
I'd really like to see you make the Tamiya 1/35 Challenger MK1, it's a really nice kit and is a different paint colour then you usually do
Do un blue tanks exist?
@@jacobhoekman6865 yes, mainly Russian and Vietnamese, but the tank I am referring to is desert
You just said strange colors.
@@jacobhoekman6865 UN vehicles are usually white.
if you did a diorama for this i think it be cool to show it about to clear a mine field
Half way clearing a mine field half craters half clean.
I just thought I should say this acrylic ink is a good way to make a small dust film/layer if you water it down it’s actually pretty cool
I prefer non-weathered models, I just prefer the clean look. Love ur video!
I have to try that.
to whoever makes these trailers, we love you
YEAAAAAAH, ANOTHER FRIDAY! finally
AMAZINGNES!!!
nice work dude :)
Love your vids, can't wait for the next one. Interiors one day??
Nádhera! Díky
Great video
It means so much to me you liked my comment we all love your work (me and my dad and my grandad ) me and my dad saw your figure painting vid. We think you should become a heart surgeon but I think I prefer Modeling. I am currently building my revell HMS victory and airfix wildcat.
Anyway good luck uncle night shift
@Night shift
Another night, another Night Shift 🥃
Dude, you are the Da Vinci of Weathering.
hell yea new video
Очередная классная работа😂🤟👍🏻
You hear that Uncle Nitenite.....your a God...Awesum. i luv it..
i hope next model will be that lovely M103
awesome
Bonsoir
Superbe la patine
Would like to see some shrapnel impact on the frontal side of the model since it’s a minesweeper
As usual you do amazing work. As I am watching the model turn on the display base, I couldn't help but notice the aluminum chipping, it stands out and looks out of place (too fresh). I am thinking you are going to give it more depth by varying the Aluminum chipping with different tones of grey and texture, after all aluminum does corrode and gets darker over time and at some point will no longer corrode below the exposed surface. Aluminum corrodes to protect itself from exposure (sounds like aluminum has intelligence) lol.
You should make a diorama where the tank has shoved the mine roller in to a muddy hole in the ground and come stuck.
I think nightshift should start a Discord so people can show off their models and get advice , or can some one suggest a good subreddit for that ?
You should make a SturmTiger model in the future!
YES VERY GOOD REMEMBERING ITS A MINE ROLLER HEAVY DUST FRONT LIGHTER TOO THE BACK .
You gotta build the new suyuta Panther. It has full interior and a Diorama base, a figure and a cran in Takom Quality for 50 bucks but 48 scale
Sweet Unc. TFS, G :)
Looks lovely. Puts anything I have done to shame.
You would be in heaven with the trumpeter hemtt and engine upgrade we use and abuse those vehicles I actually have my eyes on it just waiting to pull the trigger on it
Loving this - cannot believe that there are some people giving these videos a thumb's down!
You ever tried contrast paint of gw? If you want to speed up fabrics and models, it’s worth the try👍😊
Hey Martin, How do you keep your brushes in tip-top shape? I always seem to ruin mine after 2 months of use and got to buy new ones :S
