I’m not usually the type to throw out suggestions, but I recall the time that Diamond Construct dm’d you about doing a cover for their song Hit it Back.
Did I think that song was cheesy at first, yes, regretfully. Most of us did. But, when I eventually checked out their cover videos for Hit it Back and psychosis, their creative use of pedals/musicianship blew my mind. I understood what it is that they were trying to accomplish. They were making awesome groovy Nu-metalcore riffs all whilst attempting to expose the genre to a larger audience. The edginess of the music video to Hit it Back was in the art itself, a statement that metalcore could be (very) mainstream.
I never got your final thoughts on Diamond Construct after they asked you to do a cover for their song, but if for some reason their latest single felt unsatisfactory, please check out their 2 latest albums and instrumental playthroughs. I can’t get enough of their music now and I think their vision deserves a second chance.
