Not the hardest boss, but definitely the boss I've died to the most in this game. Mostly due to falling in the water and that one-shot beam attack he has. This whole mission sucks in general.
@@Hidden_lvl i remember hating this boss so much. But in my next playthrough, I lit all the torches... his moveset is otherwise extremely predictable without his minions and he's such an easy kill when you just use a fire talisman and hyotto mask for a few hits, and you're bound to have like at least around 20 of said items at that point in the game lol.
To make the fight easier is to not use the flame buff until the boss transforms into the second phase. This will prevent any of the smaller blobs from spawning and then just use all the buffs to burn the boss down
This whole time I was using a weapon that does Lightning damage. I didn't know I had to use tge fire. Who would've thought a water boss was weak to fire -__- This boss took forever for me to bring to half health!
Why the fuck would the creators put holes in the floor. I can honestly say that up to the Umi-bozu fight the floors are the hardest enemy’s in the game
Pretty cool bossfight, and on the lore side, I think the Umibozu is one of the creepiest sea monsters in mythology. An octopus big enough that it can sink a ship is pretty scary, but a giant, looming shadowy humanoid figure with huge, eerie round eyes that smashes ships to bits is a lot worse. I mean, the kraken and leviathan and what have you at least resemble super-sized but otherwise normal animals. The umibozu on the other hand is a totally alien...thing. Really wouldn't want to meet one for real, staring out of the mist in the middle of a storm.
I think with every bonfire you use it will allow one mini me in his second phase. The only time I get saw mini me’s is when I used the fires. The hyottoko mask does massive damage to this boss.
during the first stage, i think it's a better strategy to just stay close to him and hit his body the whole time. not only is it much easier to dodge his attacks (especially the one shot beam), but you're constantly doing damage, instead of staying back and waiting for him to do the tentacle slam.
Been playing Nioh for a few days now and the next boss will be Umi Bozu. Gotta say this game is beginning to feel like work. It's like a difficult book, but one where you feel that the author just couldn't write well.
Finally beat this boss after over an hour of trying. His 2nd form of attacks at the end kept crushing me or I'd run off the edge. After trying a few times I could do the first part without taking damage. Those one hit kills are brutal and this dude needs to learn how to swim
I'm surprised no one mentioned using those grenades. They seems to do alot of damage to umi boze. It does around 600 hp damage when tossed into the mouth after the beam attack. Also personally, it doesn't matter if you use fire or not. I use Raikiri (lightning + bonus damage on Umi boze type) and it works just as same. Only fire do additional damage which makes the battle faster.
DUDE! This is going to help me so much. I was having the worst time with this damn blob. I had no idea I could use those fire pits. I've gotten this boss down to his second stage twice and failed. I'll try the fire next time.
So... I was fighting the boss while watching this, heard you talk about the buff, grabbed it, used the magic for atk>def, put him to half health before he jumped away for the first time
I lit all the fires but didnt use it even once cuz i didnt know you could use it. I just saw a stream and viewers talked about the fire weakness. I just had 2 talisman and was sooo cautious about it. Haaaaaaa this is so sad when you could beat him so easily
Its actually MUCH easier to stay up close in the first faze and just use your onmyo talismans and stay in his face for the first half. tentacles have little chance of hitting you and debris is easy to dodge. after you have consumed 2 talismans with relentless attacks he should be at half health. entering the second faze the slugs will be destroyed by the fires and you can use them and your living weapon to finish the job. Just keep your distance in second faze and wait for the big bastard to face plant, then light him up. if you are aggressive the fight should be over in under 4 mins. good luck!
thanks for the video it really helped me out a lot my biggest enemy is the broken floor boards LOL.I'm following your advice and I keep getting so close to beating him but I keep making stupid little mistakes that end me.anyway the video was awesome definitely a new subscriber.
Lol, I never look up bossfights before I beat the boss and I litterally spend like 8 hours on this boss before beating it without lighting any fires (so all adds). Also doesnt help that this is my first darksouls type game ever. Was there a giveaway that the bonfires had to be lit from the storyline? I dont remember seeing that else I would have done it.
There are lanterns around the actual level that need to be lit. The lanterns within the boss fight will indicate that you have lit all three in the area. Sorry for the confusion.
Keep up the good work man! This video helped! I was stuck on stage two when he was on the platform! Any chance you'll be playing Nier Automata and doing videos?
+A Dunkable Cookie they do come on stage but if you leave one lantern lit until he jumps on stage it will kill one of the three ads while jumping up. You can then use the fire to get rid of the other two ads quickly. Hope this helps.
The bosses in this game, and the game as a whole, are cheap as fck. The strategy in all these boss fights is to just wait for the right moment and hit the boss one or two times, then go back and repeat. Not to mention it takes ages to deplete those huge hp bars. Make one mistake, and you're dead. I've already beaten the Umibozu, and from all the bosses up to this point, I didn't feel any pleasure or excitement from overcoming their difficulty and beating them. The rest of the game is fine, but the boss fights are annoying as hell.
Um you just described why everyone loves these games like Dark Souls and Monster Hunter. If you're a noob then you have to wait for the right moment but when you get better, you can find openings that you couldn't think about before.
lol i'm only 24 and pretty everything on this stage 1 hit kills on me on this level, the flying boats, the slaps and even the mobs. I just want my Sloth Talisman :/
Alan Nguyen you rushed big time bro. complete all the side missions- you get better armor and stuff. you really should fight the dude that gives you the warrior of the west armor... it's perhaps the best early armor in the game. the sub mission is right before this area's mission... it's called An Invitation for the Unmatched Warrior of the West or something like that. He seems impossible at first but you need to fight the dude several times to get his attack patterns down.
Sitizen Kane it's okay i'm already up to the ogress boss. i realized i had no damage. even with 6 sloth talisman i can't even get it to half health because i'm only doing 100 damage per hit lol. Yeah i think it's time i start grinding now haha
Alan Nguyen you and I are at the same boss. I got to her last night. But I got a long week of work ahead of me so I won't play as much as i would like. I have the opposite problem of you. I put virtually ALL of my points in skill since I only use dual swords and kusigamura. But I basically have very little health and minimal ki. But I do a lot if damage per hit. But that gives me a lot of trouble with aggressive bosses.
Not the hardest boss, but definitely the boss I've died to the most in this game. Mostly due to falling in the water and that one-shot beam attack he has. This whole mission sucks in general.
heat seeker Worst boss in the game so far.

Too many cheap deaths.
Yep this mission is definitely poor design
The level itself took me like an hour, but the boss took me 2.5 hours...
Thank you snoop dogg this really helped
+Mustafa Bartu 😂😂😂 no problem!
KEEP FALLING INTO THE FUCKIN WATER
To make the fight easier is to not use the flame buff until the boss transforms into the second phase. This will prevent any of the smaller blobs from spawning and then just use all the buffs to burn the boss down
Wish i read this before i beat him. I'll never get that hour back
This whole time I was using a weapon that does Lightning damage.
I didn't know I had to use tge fire.

This boss took forever for me to bring to half health!
XxHxCRaverxX lol the same here i thought it's like pokemon
XxHxCRaverxX Yeah really lol
XxHxCRaverxX an enemy that's water based- use fire. same for anyrhing that resembles a blob. its the same for dark souls.
For was not my first guess for a weakness either
its idiotic, fire does more damage against water? i would think lighting would because physics
The first time I fought Umi-Bozu I hit him with a Hyottoko Mask when he was on land and it took half of his entire life bar. Quick and easy.
Good to know!
Why the fuck would the creators put holes in the floor. I can honestly say that up to the Umi-bozu fight the floors are the hardest enemy’s in the game
Where you ran to on the beam in this video is literally one shotting me.
Barely got through the gate, insta killed.

when i saw umibozu enter second stage with the ads i was basically:...great another phalanx run all day from ranged attacks+kill with fire bossfight
Cool to see your character improve each vid
thanks
if you don't use any of the fires=no buffs. otttoko masks or whatever are great in second phase

Awesome gameplay and great commentary mate! definitely a sub!
+I'm NinjaDarkovia Thanks appreciate it.
I just kept rewinding the video to get down the tell for the oneshot beam. Nice video!
He's in the background of the ice map in mh rise

Strange when I start the battle there is always one add and the boss in the begging, and every video I saw on youtube there is no add.
Try restarting your game. If all the three lanterns are lit it shouldn't happen.
I lit all the fires but didnt use it even once cuz i didnt know you could use it. I just saw a stream and viewers talked about the fire weakness. I just had 2 talisman and was sooo cautious about it. Haaaaaaa this is so sad when you could beat him so easily
Your channel deserves more subs
+Dexter Morgan Thanks appreciate it
I'd wait to use the torches. For each one you use he summons a minion at phase 2
i dont fucking know that i can burn my sword with that fire.

how do you lit the fire pit?
Those bonfires things outside the boss stage
There is no fire when I reach there how to get it

Where can I buy Bobo do bye-bye me-me Bowser
This boss on Way Of The Demon twilight (level 500) is soooooooo hard
+H1V1 yea this boss has a lot of one hit kill moves making the fight even more nerve wrecking. Good luck
Seems I’m 3 years late, but the lanterns... straight up skipped em, should get on that
same here. i mean i lit one of them but didnt know what it did.
How is light those lanterns on fire Everytime I go to them no indicator shows for me light them
There are lanterns around the actual level that need to be lit. The lanterns within the boss fight will indicate that you have lit all three in the area. Sorry for the confusion.
it says i need a tool, is it just around here somewhere?
Christian Ellis talk to the girl in the beginning you fool
wow i didn't know about fires and i tried to defeat him using only one buff on middle thanks
Which weapon is used
Keep up the good work man! This video helped! I was stuck on stage two when he was on the platform! Any chance you'll be playing Nier Automata and doing videos?
I did put up my review for Nier Automata but I wont go in depth as I did for Nioh. Thanks for the suggestion. Appreciate all feedback.
How do u make the thing that gives u health over time. I guess it's called health magic?
QUESTION
If you use the fire and then die.
Will you have to light it again ?
Or the flames will reset when you challenge the boss again?
+XxHxCRaverxX sorry for the late response but they will reset when you go back into the fight.
thx for the tips
Is his second phase supposed to have ads? ive lit all the lanterns and ads still spawn on the second phase
+A Dunkable Cookie they do come on stage but if you leave one lantern lit until he jumps on stage it will kill one of the three ads while jumping up. You can then use the fire to get rid of the other two ads quickly. Hope this helps.

Nioh
❤ it worked 2024
the biggest problem with the game n the bosses are the auto targeting.
thanls my guy
I hate this fucking boss. About to use my last cup. Now ill have to farm more before i die again.
rphinks beat it yet? I beat it last night.
just use the hyottoko mask, you should have enough if you didn't miss them while playing in the earlier missions.
asd asdas you can get three at the end of completing the village on fire level.
IS THAT A SEKIRO?!
Thats Nioh
What is this game
I just stayed up to him first stage tank his attacks and keep hitting him the second one I wait till he attack then smash
Can't beat this guy. He uses his one shot tru shoyryuken and I am dead.
Yea I know this guys seems to be a problem for a lot of people. His hit box occasionally doesn't work right for that move.
Umi... What? Umi-borrow?
Umiboru?
