  • UPDATE 6/2/23: The repair didn't last, the impeller was unglued again, probably by me using the high temp 65 C wash programme. Sorry guys.
This is how I fixed the circulating pump on my Miele G1378SCVi dishwasher. The pump impeller had come apart, the pump wouldn't produce enough pressure and the dishwasher detects low pressure and produces F78 error (circulating pump error). Then it stops the washing, drains the water and ends the washing programme.
DIY fix as the part is very expensive, about 400euros. Only the impeller was split, rest of the part was OK.
Industrial adhesive used: Permabond TA4611, 25ml epoxy.
Since the repair the dishwasher has been working flawlessly. If it stops working I'll update the description.

UPDATE 6/2/23: This repair didn't last, the impeller got unglued again. Probably it has to do with using the "extended" 65 C wash programme, the hot water unglues the impeller. Only real way to "glue" PP is by melting. Sorry.

Just an update. I did a very thourough glue with epoxy of the split impeller about 1 year ago - I made sure to clean the plastic with alchohol before gluing and made sure it set properly for 48 hours before reinstalling. It is still working like a charm, so your repair worked ver well for me.

I think the trick is NOT to dismantle the impeller with motor and glue it in place. Mine had taken moisture inside and the motor gears seized while the glue had held. Ended up getting a new motor from Miele, about 350eur

Can you provide brand and type of the glue that you have used? I am trying to fix the same problem.

Thank you so much for this input! Saved me 400 EURs for a whole new pump unit. Fixed the impeller with special PP glue.

I completed this fix 2 days ago June 29 2024. I used rapid fix with welding powder. Ran pots and pans and so far, has not come apart. Will update If it has come apart.

Used soldering iron and melted through 2 positions for each blade Minimal penetration (just enough to melt together both pieces), original assembly seems to have one melted bind point. Did a 65c pot/pan wash just to prove. Completed Ok. Will look at a 3D print of the impeller in one piece if it fails again.

Are you able to share any images of where you melted it together? Keen to give it a shot given the difficulty working with adhesives

HEY all ,thank you for your valued comments for me to decipher!! I bought model G 1543 for 50 bucks 2nd hand with error F78.
After watching your video i was able to pull mine apart and find split impeller. I did not have the torx bit to remove impeller so glued it back together and spent 12 dollars on a solder iron and melted the little tits that protruded through the corresponding holes . Put back together and now have a perfect washer. Thank you...

Thanks a lot! Fixed the same problem with your help. Didn't get the special glue you mention so took the best I could find. Let's see how long it will last.

    Some video footage from ruclips.net/video/b39mcvWaOZ4/видео.html
Watch it anyway as it shows similar steps to remove and install the pump. Please like and subscribe.
Sorry for the ads. I didn't put the ads, RUclips puts the ads in small channels without asking and without paying.

I'm sorry it didn't last. I followed your instructions to point yesterday and I'm waiting a couple of hours for the epoxy glue to set properly (24 hours total). I will also update in case the repair doesn't last.
I'm actually disappointed with Miele on this. A rotating plastic part in a circulation pump should be better quality than this piece of thin cheap plastic. The machine is 13 years old, but Miele always claim they test their machines to last 20 years.

Dont use the 65 C programme, just the standard one. I think the high heat did it. Yes, Miele should offer just the impeller like their older models.

Fyi you need torx screwdriver 6 for the 3 small screws.

Hi GPlus, this is a question about the Gaggia video (ruclips.net/video/0y0Ok2KdjJc/видео.html), the comments section there is turned off. I have the same issue, but I can't find the same solenoid magnet. Where did you get yours?

    • @gplusgplus2286
      @gplusgplus2286  2 года назад

Sorry for the closed comments, now fixed it. The magnet is readily available from many commercial coffee machine parts shops. The whole solenoid is available as a gaggia spare part.
