    Hey Luke. Thanks a lot for this comprehensive teaching video! The progression of the art to kite is so depending how you can analyze your mistakes and correct them. All roads lead to Rome, but not all roads are suitable for the majority of students. The bad experiences and the difficulties to build up different skills to choose how to ride, keep quiet some people from progressing and "believing" in the long term perspective of their practice. I believe that progressing significantly in Kiting is so demanding, that you should choose alternative sports, which you can follow all around the year and will increase your stamina, balance and muscle memory. Land and snowboard kiting for example are very useful, even if you want to stay on the water. Thanks!

      Yeah for sure, as much time flying the kite is best. makes a huge difference to progression :)

    Hey Luke. Absolutely love that 3rd tip (diff trick in each direction) - should have been obvious but was not doing that. Can't wait to get back out there. Thanks!

    Thanks mate. Very useful, I'm at that level where I ride upwind and normal transition, all confident self launching/landing, riding 1hand and starting with simple jumps... when i try the transition with jump...I go down like a bag of rocks ahaha (i feel like I still have momentum that pull me on the original direction, Maybe is a matter of timing)

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  2 года назад +1

      Hey Beps, yes exactly its all about the timing of the kite. If you feel you are dropping into the water, chances are you need to send the kite back in the other direction sooner to get some momentum to ride out of the trick and head back the other way. Hope it helps and let us know :)

    Sometimes progression happens after going some steps backward. After I started jumping I went back to a session of kitecontrol without the board and afterwards started with Pops again, knowing that I can already Jump 5/6 Meters. Ist was simply absolut getting a better technique ☝🏽

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  2 года назад

      Hey Tabea, yeah totally agree. Great advice! :)
      Sometimes its best to go back and get some smaller skills dialed and they will help with progression overall!

      haha yeah, he isn't really either of them. The launch here is in a complete wind shadow. That makes the wind here shift and gust a lot. So while he could have chosen a better location to launch, for whatever reason it seems to be where people like to launch on this beach, and self launching in a wind shadow always makes for an "interesting" launch. :)

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  2 года назад +2

      Hey Josh, yeah seems to be what happened. I think a lot of the issue here is being placed directly behind the building so the wind gusts were not helping. :)

    After learning basics, perhaps it's worth to check what disciplines are actually available and maybe try one that looks interesting, e.g. directional boards, foil

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  2 года назад

      Hey Mike, for sure! All those different disciplines also really help with learning curve and control! and of course more fun out there :)

      Hi Bama, We have every kite size. That said, most people aim for 3 kites. Theses videos might help where we cover what you might want to get in your first setup: ruclips.net/video/Ywgg5f4QPBU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/WmTY-VP7O-Q/видео.html

    hi Flukes
    i am goofy , i easily jump now from only 1 way when the wind is blowing from starboard . When i am on the other port i can't !! Why ? Is it common ? Thanks for your videos and keep on riding !!!

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  2 года назад +1

      Hey Philippe, yes that is very common (normal). That said, as you get more practice you might find that you end up doing some different tricks to the other direction. To give an example, I do my strapless front to the left, but walk on water to the right. The way I like to learn is not to try and do all tricks in both directions, but instead learn different tricks in either direction. (if that makes sense :)

      Yeah doing any rotation is intimidating to start with for sure :) How is it going now? once you do a few of them it becomes much less daunting?

    • @FlukesKitesurfing
      @FlukesKitesurfing  2 года назад +3

      Hey Angel, Yeah this spot is offshore wind but most people launch here and then ride up to the point.
