The New York Times today had a large photo of Jin standing and waving in front of the camp with his flower bouquet, along with the news of his discharge from the SK army.😊
I just want to you to know that he was a Company Commander trainee who was awarded best trannie award and a Private First Class who is promoted to special class elite warrior and Assistant Drill Instructor who got early promoted to Coropal and double promoted to Sergeant ,also a Squad Leader. In his service he was awarded 2 x Company Commander level awards 7/8 Battalion Commander level awards. He is the only kpop idol in history to have such honours..like it's mandatory for every korean citizen to join military. He served literally at the front lines. He was enlisted when it was cold af, jin hates cold. He did really well better than a common man let alone an idol..SO PROUD OF HIM

And that's why boys succeeded beyond others, they always work extra hard, go the extra mile. As chaotic and funny as they are, they take what they do in a serious manner.

Yoongi met up with them at the Hybe building and there is a great picture with all seven guys taken where Jin did his live. ps...the person who gave Jin the flowers after his final salute was the CEO of Hybe Park-Ji Won. 😊💜💜💜

Joon is in the military band so he's pretty good with that sax now.
But the fact that this man had me go from crying to straight up laughing at the fact that he was playing dynamite in Jin's face while everyone else was emotional...is so funny to me.
There's a theory that he was actually playing the sax to cover up their conversation so the media couldn't tell what they were saying, smart move if it's true...while also being absolutely hilarious.
That speculation/theory is ao random lol... obviously it's nit that, he just wanted to do it as a welcoming as a celebratory gesture and that's it, no need to read too much in it....if yhey want yo talk thry will do it privately, it's not like they will start discussing important stuff in public in that short moment lol 😂

I was surprised that you guys did nit know that RM's military assignment was to play sax in a the military marching band. Do you know that JK is a cook; Jimin does calculations for targeting weapons, Hobi is an instructor, Tae is in Special Forces stationed in Seoul, and Suga's assignment was not announced.
@@christineenright7491 And the are all doing so well in their respective placements. And their assignments match them so well.
And I am glad Jimin has such an important job, that lets him use his math skills. I feel his aptitude for math often gets overlooked (that's what happens when you are so talented in so many areas).
I hope that they stay healthy, make new friends, and make the most of every opportunity the military offers. And that they come back revitalized.
I am glad they are learning new skills/refining existing skills. And it will be interesting to see how that impacts them after discharge.

Because if you know jimin you know he wants to be with the guys all the time and it's been a long time since he's seen them. Just because he's the head of something doesn't mean he doesn't miss the people he loves most.

Jimin is the type to need companionship, affection, and he is very empathetic. His role in the military has him being very self reliant - extreme on the solitary end. So I can imagine he is lacking on the social end of the spectrum and is craving it.

So heartwarming. I can also imagine that the bodyguard said something like "love you too, now get back in the car". You can see that Jin got back in the car quick smart. This was shown in the original footage of Jin leaving the camp.
@@KootchLB Probably what's happened, bodyguard seemed a bit surprised. Bodyguards usually love from the distance, as they can't be caught up in emotions an distracted. An we have seen their boyguard takes his job really serious an we love him for that.

I read somewhere else that RM may have been playing the sax to prevent reporters/people from overhearing the private greetings/conversations among the members. If true, good on him! They share so much with us, but they don't have to share everything!

Correction: they don’t choose anything in the military. After exams they are put in some divisions.
Jimin is the head of the artillery and the elite soldier after passing great exams, JK is a cook but they are under the same unit and see each other everyday cause they have trainings and general stuff. It is the meaning of buddy system
You don’t get to choose what you do in the military. The superior tells you what to do and where to assigned you.
I loved watching this video. Jin was obviously well liked, and made a lot of friends in the military. Seeing his fellow soldiers farewell him was very moving.
Seeing BTS great Jin was so beautiful. And the way they were all hugging each other was really touching. Especially Tae and Jimin hugging - that had me in tears.
And Namjoon playing Dynamite on the Saxaphone... I loved that.
And it makes perfect sense to me that Joonie is in the Division Band. After all, the Military would probably prefer Namjoon - the God Of Destruction - to have a Saxaphone in his hand than a loaded gun. lol (Sorry; I know it's an obvious joke).

I know it’s a joke, but Joon finished boot camp as one of the sixth best soldiers (Tae was one of the others) out of 300. So he must have handled a gun pretty well. And he has to do his regular military duties on top of his band obligations. So please can we retire this joke already?

I think that while Tae's personal "mission" in the military was to conquer his fear (of heights) and bulk up, Joon's was to learn the saxophone. So the dude signed up for the military band. If I am right about this - I think Bangtan (at least these 2) made sure they are learning something new while having to serve their country. I like this kind of thinking.

The Korean channel I watch, K-Pop Shock, reported that thousands of ARMYs lined up in the streets outside of HYBE while the live was going on... so that they could see the van carrying the members when they left the building. The VAN, you understand- that black van with the tinted windows that no one can see into. There's the most amazing footage of our Diamonds waving and cheering at the van as it passes.

Thanks for this reaction, fam! Still a pleasure even though I've been watching it repeatedly since yesterday. I read somewhere that the guy who presented the flowers to Jin is the CEO of BigHit. Jin was crying when saying goodbye to his unit and needed a moment. So heartwarming to see him hug the members. Taehyung looks bigger and taller - what has that guy been eating? Love Namjoon playing the sax - there is a photo of him playing the sax in the military band, he looked so dashing in his red uniform. So characteristic of the quality of our guys that Jin shook hands with the guard at the gate when he came out, and then saluted the gathered press - manner idol to the hilt.
Yoongi met up with them at HYBE and you can see the OT7 pic all over. Also, apparently Jin told RM as walking to the cars, enough with the damn sax LOL

To be fair, you don't have to feel too bad about missing the Live.
This is essentially how it went:
1. "Oh, it's on, Hi Every....." *WeVerse Crashes*
2. "It's back, okay, Hi again every...." *WeVerse Crashes again*
3. WeLive Screen shows a scheduled Live in about 5 minutes as they hope to fix the servers.
4. Jin is finally Live, but there are glitches and skips and freezes.
5. HYBE suddenly remembers that Army do indeed have the ability to make WeVerse crash. (Over 3M peeps went to say Hi to Jin, last I saw).
Joon playing the sax was the icing on the cake, immediately had me bursting into laughter as I was shedding tears of joy. It was a great moment. So happy Jin is back 💜
So proud of our WWH Sergeant Jin. He looked so manly and smart! He did so well through sheer hard work and determination. He was promoted early twice which is super rare. Wow! He must be so tired cos as a drill instructor, h has to wake earlier and sleep later than everyone. As well as maintaining his scores throughout. Being an elite warrior is rare and one has to be exceptional. One has to be strong mentally and physically. I can just imagine the hardships he went through. Jhope is also an elite warrior and drill instructor. He has just been early promoted to Sergeant too. Well done Jhope! for those who don't know Namjoon is in Millitary Band he is in SDT - Republic of Korea Army Military Police Special Duty Team. But he is assigned in Military Band. He's uniform is color red and he's doing it well, look at him he's great at it. Jungkook is a cook inside military, Tae is SDT - Republic of Korea Army Military Police Special Duty Team same sa Namjoon but he is in the hardest part of their Military they are the people who will be in front when a war would happen. J-hope is Sergeant in recognition of his outstanding service. Jimin has been assigned to the Artillery FDC, which stands for the Field Artillery Fire Direction Center. Suga joined the duty as a "Social Service Agent"- an alternative form of military service in the country, now under the bases of Jin and Jhope, all I know is they are working hard.
My phone goes into silent mode after 9pm, so I missed it all! Woke up to a text from my friend that he was on!! Love the new OT7 pic!

If you guys want to have a little insight of how the Korean (Navy) Bootcamp goes (I know, none of the Tannies actually are in the Navy), I highly recommend the RUclips series posted by KoreanEnglishman just these past few weeks. They took a bunch of British college guys - who they've known for years now - to the Korean military and were allowed to spend a few days in Bootcamp and film everything.
They also did a series with twins (a British major and a reverend) a few years ago where they got a little special program for themselves.
To me it was very interesting as I'm German and we basically have no clue of any of the military stuff due to historical reasons.
A little warning tho: For some ARMYs this might be too much, knowing what similar things the Tannies must've went through in their Bootcamp.
