Sir, In Mabcd complex u said 3 G.I and 3 O.I all together 6 stereoisomers and in M AA3 no G.I & O.I 2 by considering d & l form similarly why haven't you considered in Mabcd 6 O.I with 3 pairs of d& l ?? Pls explain this doubt
@Amaira_sethi For any kind of square planar complex all the ligands lie in the same plane i.e y called square planar and hence there is always plane of symmetry. There can never be optical activity possible in square planar complexes.
Thanks a lot for the video . I have lot of difficulty in solving the ques of dis topic bt now after watching your video i got the confident that if i practice the ques i will be able to solve the ques in exam . Thankyou for helping us 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you sir and more over Ma2b2c2 give 5 g.l and in the last question optiona,b,c are correct and d is not correct.once again thank you so much sir 💐
Good afternoon sir I watch your video which help me a lot thank you sir One request sir please provide short notes on other important physical chemistry topics like you provide on thermodynamics and electrochemistry..
U said that the same ligands on axial position they will have pos but u taken example at the 29.46secs it possessing no pos how is it possible the trick is not working out here
If number of isomers are asked in the question, then do we have to include the original structure as well? Like in example Mabcd there will be total 3 geometrical isomers or 2 geometrical isomers without including the original structure?
Thankyu so much sir..& sir ek question hey..ye ki Kya gate chemistry v esi sab topic ke vedios SE cover ho skta h means uske liye alag SE Kuch krna Hoga..Kya I mean it's sufficient for NET SET GATE..
Thank you sir.Sir how to count stereoisomers ?is it sum of from+optical active+optical inactive isomers or only optical active+optical inactive isomers ?please clear doubt sir
Ans of last question : All have d3, so regardless of field strength of ligands, all have same spin, option (b) is correct. Since it has d3 conf., no J-T distortion. Coming to option (a), all should have 3 d-d transition, but as octahedral field strength of the ligands have changed, their absorption will definitely vary, not same. So, correct options are (b) and (c)
@@AllBoutChemistry how many more wrong things are there in this video ????? Kindly pin in one comment it will be beneficial for all else ppl will find ur videos misleading sir please
That book is good to develop basic concept, but don't expects questions of that level in CSIR, try to buildup your basics from there and then switch to standard books
thank you sir. i hv downloaded Atkins- inorganic , Atkins-physical chemistry and Ajay kumar- organometallic and bio inorganic books.....is it sifficient sir..
Options A,B,C are correct..
d3 thus, no JTD is observed in all the three complexes
magnetic moment for all is same, i.e, 4.89 B.M.

For Ma2b2c2, (ccc i.e. all cis) isomer is optically active and it has total 5 geo. isomers. So, total no. of isomers is 6.
Finally someone explained for bidentate ligand...thanku sr ji
You missed 5th isomer which is optically active combination M (ab)(bc)(ac) for Ma2b2c2....
Sir for Ma2b2c2 another way is (ab),(bc)(ac)....optically active?
For Sq planar complexes all are optically inactive as there is a sigma through the plane
yes ... true :)
At 9:56 Mabcd is having POS so how can it be optically active? (POS-slice cut)
Square planar are optically inactive
Exactly
what symmetry are you talking about? there's no symmetry
In any square planar complex like [Mabcd] there must be a molecular plane (slice) so how can a square planar complex be optically active ???
Because plane of symmetry is not present in that complex.
@Amaira_sethi
For any kind of square planar complex all the ligands lie in the same plane i.e y called square planar and hence there is always plane of symmetry.

Sir Mabcd type never get optically active because it has molecular plane of symmetry...i think so
Correct 100%
best video!!!! thank you so much !!!!! i have spent so much time looking for a video that would help me with this topic.
so in octahedral complexes there are only 2 optical actives Ma2b2c2 and fac-Ma3b3???
hello sir...
in [Ma3b3] type complex, fac and mer isomer exist. which one out of them will optical active? pls explain with reason
Facial isomer is optical active
Because no plane of symmetry
a3 Or b3.. Ligands are cis to each other.!
@@gvvinay4556 is this an exception??
For Ma2b2c2
5th one will be M(ab)(bc)(ca)
ya, thanks for that. I missed it there :)
And this will be optical active
@@manugoyal1107 no when plane of symmetry pass then 2 b&b reflect
how can square planar Mabcd optically active....it is having plane of symettry
Right
Ma5b will it be optically active or not

Anna ,m a2 b2 c2 cis optical active, trans optical inactive correct. Anna pls reply.
At 29:26 in M(AA)2bc 2nd structure is also optical inactive bcz the ligands are same at alternate position pls reply?
Nice explanation Sir ...Plz make a lesson on polymer for csir point of view
alright :)
In square planar plane of symmetry is present and All is optically inactive.then how here for Mabcd 3 is possible???
Is this method called the Bailer's Method of finding out the stereoisomers of a coordination complex?
Please do Answer
U said that the same ligands on axial position they will have pos but u taken example at the 29.46secs it possessing no pos how is it possible the trick is not working out here

Sir all square planar shapes has POS ,so that are optically inactive then why u tell at 9:42 that Mabcd is optically active?
since the oxidation state of chromium is same in all the cases, the spin only magnetic moment is same
Thankyu so much sir..& sir ek question hey..ye ki Kya gate chemistry v esi sab topic ke vedios SE cover ho skta h means uske liye alag SE Kuch krna Hoga..Kya I mean it's sufficient for NET SET GATE..

Physical chemistry numerical you can get in KL Kapoor.
Ma2b2c2- ab ac bc is also possible and thus will have optical isomer

sir for Mabcd it will be OI as it contains sigma plane
