    I went to six flags magic mountain in ‘82, and there were all of these people wearing black and white clothing, and I thought to myself what’s going on. To my wonderful amazement, I was able to witness the absolute talented performance of Missing Persons live and direct. Dale, Terry, Warren, and Patrick were on another level back then,

      Vitreous Lamella I have completely done the same thing. Enjoying their catalog so much, I was too young to really appreciate how good their musicianship and song writing at the time was.Terry Bozio, I read so many negative comments on his playing so often. Just cannot understand that. He has been a amazing talent for so long. i recently found out he played with Frank Zappa way back when. Dont know If you are a drummer or just appreciate the instrument. But his playing with FZ is pretty well documented on You Tube. A must listen. Songs were definetly a lil self indulgent musicians music. But the playing is just extraordinary.

    I like Missing Persons because they had a heavier sound than most new wave bands. Dale's singing, the drumming, and the guitar riffs in this song push towards hard rock. They found a really nice balance of punch and pop.

    • @kevinr.3542
      @kevinr.3542 4 года назад +45

      It helps that they had a real drummer, Terry Bozzio. As opposed to a cliche 80s drum machine or your typical new wave drummer. Bozzio played with Zappa during his creative peak, which means he played some of the hardest songs ever written. This was almost a step down for him, into the pop world. Or just a different direction. But he definitely gave this band some serious balls. Something a lot that music is missing.

    Missing Persons was a Fresh and Exhilarating band that was lumped into the 80's New Wave Category but in reality they were a Highly Progressive Rock band. Terry Bozzio is a Legend and Rightfully So. This band captured " lightning in a bottle" for their brief couple years of existence.

    I used to mix these guys back in 1980 on 15 channels at Starlight Pavillion at Knott's. 6 drum channels ( rack, rack, floor, rotos, ride, over) on a Yamaha PM-180. On the PM-700: drum sub mix input, kick, snare, hat, 3 vocals, guitar, bass, 2 keyboard channels, and a reverb return.

    God bless you, Dale B. I heard her interviewed in 2016 or so with the wisdom of someone who has seen it all... (paraphrasing) "Beauty, Fame, & riches... these things come and go from your life-- they're temporary But LOVE and compassion, they're long-lasting and live in the hearts of those people you touched for the rest of their lives, and hopefully they'll pass it on, and it will live beyond that.

    My band got to open for Missing Persons when they played Norman,Oklahoma in 1983. They were very friendly to us and made us feel important that evening. They were also impressed enough with our performance that they invited us to meet them in Philadelphia a few days later to finish out the tour with them. I needed more than a handshake and a couple days to get my life in order so I declined. There were 3 very upset people there for awhile. Sometimes I wonder..." what if " ? .
